McGonagall’s Holiday Surprise Part 4

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for McGonagall’s Holiday Surprise Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!  Your mission to deliver Christmas gifts took you across the entire castle. In Hufflepuff, you encountered a sleepwalking Penny dreaming of potions, while in Ravenclaw, you completed your task under the watchful eye of the Grey Lady. In Slytherin, you received unexpected help from Merula, who insisted on arranging the gifts to meet her high standards.

Your journey concluded in the Gryffindor Common Room, where you shared a heartfelt conversation with Professor McGonagall about the complexities of having brothers. Together, you finished the final delivery, ensuring that every student at Hogwarts would wake up to a holiday surprise.

What awaits you in Part 4: With the deliveries complete, it is finally time to join your friends in the Great Hall for the Christmas celebration. Professor McGonagall is waiting to express her final gratitude for the kindness you showed her and her brother, Malcolm. As a token of her appreciation, she has a special Christmas gift prepared just for you—and the choice of what you receive is entirely yours.

You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to Clocktower Courtyard once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.  When you arrive at the courtyard, which is covered in a winter idyll, a festive atmosphere will be everywhere. Everyone will be wishing each other a Merry Christmas and talking about the gifts they received. You will decide to check on everyone to see if they are enjoying the holiday and their presents.

To celebrate Christmas morning, you need to earn five stars within one hour. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Levi. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

It looks like everyone enjoyed the gifts they received for Christmas. Then, Penny will approach you again and ask how your Christmas has been going. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

While you are talking to Penny, you will receive a letter from Malcolm urgently asking you to meet him in the Artefact Room. So let’s not wait—let’s head there immediately to find out why he is so worried.

Go to the Artefact Room to continue the story. When you arrive, he will ask you to tell him how your adventure delivering gifts to your fellow students went. He will then ask you which of the houses’ common rooms you enjoyed visiting the most.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Then, you will ask him how his Christmas with McGonagall went. He will add that they shared stories into the late hours, then Minerva disappeared for a while, but she was back in time to enjoy Christmas morning with them.

He will then explain that he called you because he has one more surprise for his sister. He prepared a gift for her, but now he cannot find it. Panicking, he reached out to you for help in locating the missing present. You will immediately accept and get to work searching for McGonagall’s lost gift.

To find the lost gift, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to the barrel. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Fortunately, you’ll manage to find the gift. It is the Queen piece from a wizard’s chess set, but not just any piece—he enchanted it to recall memories from their childhood together. 

Now, his sister will never feel far from home, no matter where she is in the world. Malcolm will also mention that he has a gift for you as well, but he will wait to give it to you at the Christmas feast.

Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Upon your arrival, you will see that everyone is gathered. 

Professor Dumbledore will wish everyone a Merry Christmas and announce the start of the Christmas feast, adding that this holiday, we should celebrate the bonds of love that connect us and make Hogwarts a home to all. Shortly after, the feast will begin.

To enjoy the Christmas Feast, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Dumbledore, your character, Professor Sprout, and Hagrid. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Professor McGonagall will approach you and wish you a Merry Christmas, thanking you for everything you have done for them. She will then ask what you have to say now that all your toils are over and the holiday was enjoyed by all.

She will then invite you to join her in her classroom, where her brother will present you with the gift he has prepared for you.

Proceed to the Transfiguration Classroom when you are ready. When you arrive, Malcolm will be waiting for you to wish you a Merry Christmas and all the best. He will then suggest that you take this time to share stories of your adventures at Hogwarts!

To share adventure stories, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Malcom and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

In any case, after a short chat, Malcolm will let you choose which gift you want: his holiday wreath, made from the branches of the oak you helped decorate in the Great Hall, or his snowglobe, which contains a miniature representation of that same oak Christmas tree! Choose whichever you like more, as it has no impact on the story.

Shortly after, you will reach the end of the adventure.

This will mark the end of Part 4 of McGonagall’s Holiday Surprise Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 4 Gems, 1000 Experience Points, and 3 Chocolate Frogs. You will receive an Oak Wreath or an Oak Tree Tappie.

You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

This holiday adventure has served as a beautiful reminder of what matters most during the season—friendship, family, and selflessness. Throughout these four parts, your character did more than just complete tasks; you directly helped reunite a family and spread joy across the entire castle.

From your initial meeting with Professor McGonagall in the Library, to organizing the grand Wizard’s Chess tournament in the Great Hall, and finally making secret gift deliveries to every house common room, you demonstrated the true spirit of Hogwarts. By selflessly taking on the Professor’s duties, you allowed her to spend irreplaceable time with her brother, Malcolm, and in return, you gained a deeper understanding of the bonds that connect the people within these ancient walls.

By recovering the lost enchanted chess piece and celebrating at the Christmas Feast under Dumbledore’s wise words, your journey comes to a triumphant close. The unique souvenir you chose—whether the snowglobe or the holiday wreath—will remain in your dormitory as a lasting memento of the time you brought the magic of Christmas to life for everyone at Hogwarts.
