McGonagall’s Holiday Surprise Part 3

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for McGonagall’s Holiday Surprise Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!  Our festive mission reached its peak with heart-warming surprises! After assisting Professor McGonagall with wrapping gifts in the library, you successfully lured her to the Transfiguration classroom. There, she was stunned to find her brother, Malcolm, waiting for her. Their emotional reunion, sealed with a warm hug and a nostalgic game of Wizard’s Chess, reminded everyone of the true meaning of family during the holidays.

The celebration then moved to the Great Hall for the grand Hogwarts Wizard’s Chess Tournament. While you faced a tough match against Merula and showed off your best strategies, the ultimate victory went to Murphy McNully, with Professor McGonagall and Malcolm following close behind. To top it all off, you made a selfless gesture: you offered to deliver the remaining Christmas gifts to the house common rooms yourself, allowing the Professor to spend a rare, much-needed evening with Malcolm and his family in Hogsmeade.

Coming up in Part 3: The castle is quiet and covered in snow as you set out to complete your final task. Once every gift is safely delivered, you will return to the Great Hall for one last meeting with Professor McGonagall. In recognition of your kindness and hard work, she has a special surprise waiting for you—a choice of your very own Christmas reward!

You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to Hufflepuff Common Room once the waiting time is over. Now that it is late and everyone is asleep, it is time for you to deliver the gifts. No one must see you. Depending on whether or not you are a Hufflepuff, you will have a few different lines of dialogue.

In any case, you will see Penny sleepwalking. Your task is to deliver the gifts without disturbing Penny or accidentally waking her up.

To quietly place gifts, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character and the gifts. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

When you finish delivering the gifts, you will realize that Penny is dreaming about brewing potions. Still asleep, she will approach you, mistaking you for Professor Snape, and ask if her Elixir to Induce Euphoria is up to your standards. 

You will be presented with two different options to choose from. Both will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to pick whichever one you prefer.

After guiding Penny back to bed, you will head toward the Ravenclaw common room. 

Go to the Ravenclaw Common Room to continue the story. You will receive different lines of dialogue if you are a Ravenclaw. In any case, the Grey Lady will approach you and ask what you are doing so late. 

You will tell her that you have a very important task and that Professor McGonagall sent you, but she will ask why she should believe that McGonagall was the one who sent you. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

She will then leave you alone, but of course, she will be watching you from a distance. You will be aware of this and will immediately start placing the gifts so you can leave as quickly as possible.

To arrange presents, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Chrismtas tree and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Once you finish, the Grey Lady will see that you were not lying and realize what your true intentions were. She will then advise you to move on so that you can finish everything before morning.

Proceed to the Slytherin Common Room when you are ready. You will receive different lines of dialogue if you are a Slytherin. However, when you enter, Merula will be awake and will immediately ask what you are doing so late, adding that you are in big trouble.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, Merula will realize what you are doing and ask if there might be a gift for her too. You will tell her that there are actually several and that you even helped wrap them. However, she will remark that the gifts hardly look worthy of Slytherin and will offer to help you arrange them properly so you don’t end up embarrassing yourself.

To arrange gifts properly, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

All of the Slytherin gifts have been delivered and artfully arranged. Now it is time for the final stop in your mission to deliver Christmas gifts: the Gryffindor Common Room!

Go to the Gryffindor Common Room to continue the story. You will receive different lines of dialogue if you are a Gryffindor. However, Professor McGonagall will be there waiting for you. You will be surprised because you thought she was with her brother, spending Christmas with him.

She will explain that she was with him and is glad they are spending time together, but she only stopped by to check on your progress and see if you encountered any difficulties. You will add that everything’s gone well… for the most part and that every other house has received its Christmas gifts.

Professor McGonagall will then thank you for your help, saying that without you, she would never have been able to spend time with her brother and his family. You will respond that Malcolm deserves her thanks the most and that this was all part of his plan. 

She will remark that her brother’s elaborate plans tend to make her life more complicated, but his efforts are not unappreciated. You will tell her that you can relate, as your brother has made your life more complicated as well. She will then ask you what one is to do about brothers like yours.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

She will then help you complete your final delivery and arrange the gifts for the Gryffindors.  To complete the final delivery, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the Christmas tree and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Professor McGonagall will then ask you if it is important to be like those you care about. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Now that all the gifts have finally been delivered, Professor McGonagall will thank you once again and add that all that’s left now is for you to enjoy the holidays with your friends.
