Shredding Shrakes Part 2

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Shredding Shrakes Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part of this magical adventure, you teamed up with Hagrid and his old friend Sal to investigate a mysterious illness affecting a local shoal of Shrakes.

After researching in the library with Liz and carefully observing the creatures underwater, you identified the illness as Spike Rot — a rare but dangerous condition that leaves Shrakes weak, irritable, and unable to fulfill their vital role in the magical ecosystem. Now, with the diagnosis confirmed, it’s time to take the next step: brewing a powerful potion to cure them. But healing magic is never simple — and your journey is far from over.

Go to the Great Hall to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive, you’ll tell Penny that you need her help to brew a potion that can cure the Shrakes suffering from an illness called Spike Rot. Penny will agree to help, but she’ll also admit that something is troubling her. 

To offer a new perspective, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the girl behind you and for your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll find out that Penny feels reluctant to help the Shrakes because they’re known for shredding Muggle fishing nets. She doesn’t want to assist creatures that might threaten Muggle livelihoods. You’ll tell her that you understand her concerns, but remind her that shredding nets is simply part of a Shrake’s nature — they don’t do it out of malice. They still deserve and need your help.

However, Penny will need a solid reason to move past her doubts. No matter which reasoning you choose to offer, she’ll ultimately agree to help you heal the Shrakes.

To begin brewing the potion, you’ll need a key ingredient — freshly shed spines from a healthy Shrake. Luckily, your own Shrake is in good health and can provide exactly what you need. You’ll agree with Penny that you’ll head off to collect the spines while she waits for you in the Potions Classroom to begin the brewing process.

Go to the Open Ocean to continue the story. When you arrive, Liz will wonder if there’s a more humane way to collect a few spines from your Shrake. However, Sal will reassure her — Shrakes regularly shed their spines, and it’s completely natural for them, so there’s no reason to worry. Hagrid will agree, adding that the fastest way to get a few spines is to play with your Shrake. During the play, a few will fall off on their own, and you can collect them safely.

Given that time is short, Sal will ask for your opinion . The correct answer is “Play with my Shrake”.

Shortly after that, you’ll begin playing with your magical creature. To play with your Shrake, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Liz and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

After a short round of play, you’ll successfully collect the ingredient you need. So don’t wait—head straight back to Penny so you can begin brewing the cure for the poor, unfortunate Shrakes together. Time is of the essence, and they’re counting on you!

Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll notice that Professor Snape is also there. He’ll remark that he only allowed the use of his classroom and ingredients because of Penny. 

He’ll also mention that she showed him the notes and brewing instructions for the potion you’re making—adding, somewhat begrudgingly, that he’ll likely have to assist you both in the process.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Following that, you’ll begin brewing the potion. With Penny’s expert knowledge, your collected ingredient, and Professor Snape’s watchful eye, every step must be precise.

To brew the potion, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the spines and Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Trace the wand movement to finish the potion. 

Professor Snape will state that the potion has been adequately prepared and will instruct you to leave his classroom, as he needs to prepare for his next lesson. You’ll thank him for his assistance, and express your gratitude to Penny for all her help. With the potion in hand, you’ll set off, ready to finally heal the ailing Shrakes and bring relief to the troubled shoal.

Proceed to the Open Ocean when you are ready. When you arrive, Sal will comment that you’ve returned just in time, as the Shrakes are starting to look dangerously diminished. Hagrid will appear more worried than usual and ask if you’re certain the potion will help heal the creatures.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after that, you’ll administer the potion to the Shrakes, hoping it will finally cure them and restore their health.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Sal and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Once you’re finished, you’ll see that the Shrakes are now completely healed, which will bring great joy to everyone — including your own Shrake, who will happily swim over to play with them.

Sal and Hagrid will thank you sincerely for everything you’ve done. After a brief conversation, Sal will prepare to head back home, and you’ll say your goodbyes. With that, this beautiful underwater adventure comes to an end.

This will mark the end of The Shredding Shrake Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 4 Gems, 2 Chocolate Frogs, and 200 Friend Experience Points with Hagrid.

You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

You’ll also receive a Sal’s outfit.
