The Back to School Special Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for The Back to School Special Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. You’ve arranged to spend the morning in Diagon Alley with Penny, Andre, and Liz, starting at the Leaky Cauldron before heading to the train. Everything seems perfect—until a sudden Doxy invasion turns your shopping trip into a challenge.

Proceed to the Leaky Cauldron when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll meet Penny, Liz, and Andre. Penny will ask if you’re ready for school and if you’re excited to spend some fun time in Diagon Alley before heading back. 

Some lines of dialogue will change depending on whether you already know Liz and Andre—if you don’t, you’ll get a few extra lines for introductions. 

After that, Penny will ask what you are most excited about for this school year. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

However, your story will be interrupted by a Doxy invasion, so let’s not waste any time – let’s deal with them quickly.

To fight off Doxys, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character, the box near Andre, and the woman in the brown coat. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

You’ll manage to contain them while everyone gets out, but they’re swarming around the students’ things now – you must prevent them from getting into Diagon Alley, which means it’s time to make a plan.

Go to Diagon Alley to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you go outside, you will accidentally let a Doxy out with you, and it will start circling Andre. Trace the wand movement to cast Flipendo Maxima to drive the Doxy away.

Andre will thank you for saving him from that Doxy and will add that he needs to find a way to repay you. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Now you have another problem: your suitcase was left inside, so you will suggest brainstorming to find the right solution for this issue.

To brainstorm a solution, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to the Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

You will realize that the best way to drive the Doxies away is to spray them with Doxycide, which will paralyze them and allow you to safely gather and remove them. You will agree to go to the Apothecary around the corner to get the ingredients for the potion you need to make to handle this disaster.

Proceed to the Apothecary when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

Penny will comment that this is her favorite place and that it has everything you need – there’s even a giant cauldron for witches or wizards in a rush to brew. Then Alfred Nettle, the owner of the shop, will approach you. 

You will introduce yourself and get to know him, then explain the situation and that you need help getting rid of the Doxies. He will be willing to help, and soon after, you will begin brewing the Doxycide.

To brew Doxycide, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Alfred Nettle. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You have successfully reached the final stage of brewing the potion, but you are still missing one ingredient. Alfred will ask you which ingredient it is. The correct answer is Tormentil tincture.

Trace the wand movement to finish the potion.

Alfred will then add the final ingredient and leave to attach the spray nozzle to the bottle so the potion will be ready to use immediately. You will then decide to return to the Leaky Cauldron to solve the problem.

Go to the Leaky Cauldron to continue the story. As soon as you arrive, you will immediately suggest starting the spraying process.

To defeat the Doxys, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to the doxy, Liz, and Penny. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will successfully paralyze the Doxies; however, you will notice that they have caused a huge mess and destroyed your belongings.

Penny will ask you how you feel about your destroyed belongings. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Now you have the next problem, which is to get new school supplies that were destroyed and make it to the Hogwarts Express on time.

This will mark the end of Part 1 of The Back to School Special Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 300 Coins.

Part 1 concludes with a mix of relief and urgency. You successfully dealt with the Doxy invasion using Doxycide, thanks to quick thinking, teamwork, and Alfred Nettle’s assistance. While the immediate danger is neutralized, the chaos left behind reminds you that challenges can strike unexpectedly. Now, with school supplies destroyed, a new task awaits: replacing them and ensuring you make it to the Hogwarts Express on time, setting the stage for the next adventure.
