The Back to School Special Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Back to School Special Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, in Part 1, you faced an unexpected Doxy invasion at the Leaky Cauldron. Working alongside Penny, Andre, and the helpful shopkeeper Alfred Nettle, you managed to brew Doxycide and paralyze the pests before they could spread into Diagon Alley.

However, the chaos they left behind was severe – your belongings were destroyed, leaving you without essential school supplies. Now, with time running short, you must replace what you’ve lost and still make it to the Hogwarts Express before it departs.

You will thank your friends for standing by your side, but there’s no time to rest. Your school robes need mending, your lost books must be replaced, and you’ll have to gather fresh potion ingredients. Now, it’s all about planning the fastest way to get everything done and make it to the Hogwarts Express before it leaves.

To make a plan, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Mr. Nettle can help you with the potion supplies, and you can find your books secondhand at Flourish and Blotts. You’ll need The Standard Book of Spells, Magical Draughts and Potions, and A History of Magic.

As for your robes, casting a Mending Charm might be enough; however, Andre will disagree, pointing out that they’re far too torn to be fixed with a simple Reparo spell. He will offer to repair them himself as a way to repay you for saving him from the Doxy.

This line will differ based on your previous choice. 

Andre wants to add a bit of his own style to your robes and will ask what you think about the idea. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, you will agree to meet him at the Leaky Cauldron so you can start mending your clothes.

Go to the Leaky Cauldron to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you and Andre will comment on how great it is that you got rid of the Doxies. You will also suggest finding a flat surface—a table—where you can lay out your robes to work on them.

To get measured, you need to earn five stars within one hour. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to the mending toolkit. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Now that Andre has taken your measurements, he’s ready to start working on your uniform. You’ll notice that he’s very excited about it, even though it seems like quite a technically difficult task. 

He will say that he loves that about fashion—it combines both technical and creative aspects, and he enjoys both. He will then ask you which one you prefer more: creative or technical tasks.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll decide to head out to gather the remaining items you need while Andre works on your robes.

You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to Flourish and Blotts once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive, you’ll see that it’s extremely crowded, so you’ll hurry to find the books you need.

To find the books, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the books the girl is sitting on. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You will speak with Madam Villanelle and mention that you’re missing one more book. She will say that it always happens right before the school year begins. People who leave their shopping until the last minute come in and leave her out of stock in a single day. 

You will explain that you didn’t leave your shopping until the last minute—a swarm of Doxies destroyed your books! She will apologize and say she’s sorry to hear that, and then you will ask which book is missing. The correct answer is “The Standard Book of Spells”.

Unfortunately, The Standard Book of Spells is completely sold out for every grade. In fact, she has just sold the last two copies to a Slytherin witch around your age, who wanted a spare in case she lost her own copy. It may seem a bit overcautious, but Madam Villanelle doesn’t judge her clients. You will wonder who it could be and decide to go ask Liz if it happens to be her.

Go to Diagon Alley to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. You’ll manage to reach Liz through the crowd and ask her if she happened to buy two copies of The Standard Book of Spells. She will say that it wasn’t her and suggest that you ask around Diagon Alley to see who took the two books.

To find the book buyer, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to the girl in blue. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Other students will give you a description of a girl who had a very large pile of books with her—the description matches Ismelda Murk. Liz will tell you that you’ll need to be very convincing to persuade Ismelda to help you and give you one of her books. She will then ask if you have any idea how you could accomplish that.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

It’s time to go to Ollivanders and ask Ismelda to help you.
