The Case of the Missing Pets Part 4

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for The Case of the Missing Pets Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, along with Merula, you followed the trail of birdseed, leading to new clues that suggested someone had been there with various animals. You found footprints, pawprints, and streaks of oil all over the clearing. After a brief search, you figured that the oil was actually tung oil, commonly used on wooden boats, leading you to check the Boathouse.

Upon arrival, you discovered the place in a considerable mess. After searching the area, you spotted the next clue, Demiguise hair, which is used to make Invisibility Cloaks, explaining why your friends hadn’t seen the culprits as they were using invisibility cloaks. However, your investigation was interrupted by a noise from a nearby trunk. Next to the trunk, you also found a bag of birdseed similar to those in Hagrid’s Garden. After inspecting the trunk, Merula insisted on opening it, believing it held the next clue to finding the missing pets. Unfortunately, when you opened it, a diversion awaited – a Confundus Curse that affected one of you. Concluding that the culprits had left the Boathouse and likely departed by boat, you decided to head to Lakeshore to spot them.

Proceed to the Lakeshore when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll see the culprits behind this mess and the pets visibly distressed.

These lines of dialog will differ based on your previous choice.

Merula will comment that you were right that the two culprits were trying to escape by boat with all the missing Hogwarts pets. She will wonder who those two are. This line will differ based on whether you have met Todd and Corine Cribb before.

Then you’ll ask them to explain why they take out Hogwarts pets. Corrine will respond that it’s none of your business, but she’ll acknowledge that you can’t stop them, so she’ll explain that they only wanted to take Hagrid’s pet but didn’t know which one it was, so they caught all the pets near his hut and in the vicinity.

She will say that for some reason Hagrid has a problem with poachers and is always stopping them, so they decided to do this as a way to get revenge on Hagrid. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

They will be confident that you are not up to the task. Corrine will additionally mention that they’ll be gone as soon as they sedate these animals and locate the Invisibility Cloak. Corrine will also add that you only caught them because a bird started riling up all the pets on the boat.

At some point, the curse will wear off. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

It seems that this can’t be resolved in any other way than through a duel.

Just as Corrine was about to attack, a bird familiar to you distracted her, preventing the attack.

Following that, your duel with Todd will begin. Click “Start” to begin the duel with recommended attribute levels and costs displayed in the task window.

The required attribute levels will be quite similar to your own attributes, making this duel exceptionally challenging. Adding to the difficulty, Todd’s moves are unpredictable, so success will require a bit of luck. Nevertheless, there are strategies to enhance your chances. One way to approach this duel is to go Aggressive in the first round and use Incendio.

If you get a burning effect on your opponent, you can go Sneaky during the second round and use Flipendo. This combination should be sufficient for victory, provided you avoid getting stunned. Keep in mind that obtaining the burning effect relies on some luck, so while this strategy won’t guarantee success, it should tip the odds in your favor.

After successfully defeating Cribbs, they will agree to return your pets.

Shortly after, they will apparate out of there together.

You’ll be very happy to have saved your friends’ pets. Following that, Merula will add that it’s not so common to see you working as a team, and she will then ask how you feel about it. There are two options to choose from. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Shortly after, you’ll decide to return to the castle and reunite the pets with their owners.

Go to the Training Grounds to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Upon your arrival, you will witness a delightful scene where your friends are once again reunited with their pets.

Penny will welcome you and express how everyone is extremely happy that their pets have been returned. She’ll mention that, in celebration, they’ve organized a small party.

Penny will mention that everyone is very grateful to you for successfully returning their beloved pets. She’ll also inform you that someone wishes to speak with you about something important and that someone is none other than your friend Talbott.

To discuss the helpful bird, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

There are many bonus progress actions tied to Talbott, Barnaby, Tulip, Fang, Merula, and Rabbit. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

The following dialogues will differ based on whether you have completed the Become an Animagus Adventure. If you have, you will know that the Animagus is none other than Talbot; otherwise, Talbott will not tell you that he is the Animagus who was helping you.

After finishing, you’ll discover that the bird that helped you was none other than Talbott in his Animagus form. He’ll explain that Cribbs caught him while he was admiring the treetops near Hagrid’s Garden. Talbott chose not to change back to avoid revealing his Animagus identity, leaving you with as many clues as possible to solve the case.

Talbott will say that you deserve many congratulations and warm messages, acknowledging how hard you’ve worked to solve the case. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, Talbott will say that others would like to thank you as well and that you have a much-earned party to enjoy.

This will mark the end of Part 4 of The Case of the Missing Pets Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 4 Gems, 1000 Experience Points, and 3 Chocolate Frogs. You’ll earn the achievement for completing the adventure.

We reached the end of this adventure, and we managed to save our friends’ pets from Todd and Corrine. Witnessing the heartfelt reunion between them and their owners was truly special.
