The Curse of Love Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for the Curse of Love Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. As Valentine’s Day approached, Penny kindly shared cute cards with bee designs and the message “Bee my Valentine.” You, along with Charlie, pondered who to choose as your Valentine. Following Charlie’s suggestion, you invited your crush to the Three Broomsticks for a date.

While chatting about love and romance, you noticed a strange bee pendant under the table. Asking Madam Rosmerta about it, you learned no one had reported losing it, so you claimed it. Wanting to gift it to your Valentine alongside the bee-themed card, she accepted it. However, when she put on the pendant, she fell asleep deeply, worrying you, and you decided to take her to St. Mungo’s Hospital. With Professor McGonagall’s help, you discussed the mysterious sleep, prompting you to seek more information about enchanted dreams to help your crush.

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a graduate student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, some dialogue, the star, and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress with the main story.)

Proceed to the Library when you are ready. When you arrive, Charlie will mention that they’ve heard about your Valentine being in the Hospital Wing and will add that your friends want to help you. (The next lines of dialogue will differ depending on who you chose to be your Valentine, but in any case, it does not affect the story).

You’ll thank them and express your appreciation, stating that you need to research every form of bewitched sleep known to the wizarding world. Shortly after, you’ll begin your research. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Corey and Charlie. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

When you finish, you’ll discover that there are three main causes that can lead to bewitched sleep: sleeping charms, sleeping potions, and unique curses.

Following that, Charlie will ask you what you think the cause of the bewitched sleep is. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is “ A unique curse”.

In any case, you’ll mention that it doesn’t matter what you think, emphasizing that Professor McGonagall instructed you to eliminate every possibility one by one. Charlie will suggest starting with potions after all. This line will differ based on your previous choice. 

You’ll say that it’s worth a try and that you need to prepare several potion cures and antidotes to be sure. Then, you’ll decide to head to the Potions Classroom.

Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. When you arrive there, Professor Snape will greet you, mentioning that Professor McGonagall informed him about your situation. Of course, Professor Snape will immediately start criticizing you for allowing your Valentine to fall into a magical slumber.

There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, you’ll say that whether it’s your fault or not, you’re going to find a solution to this situation and make it right. Professor Snape will then say that, in that case, you should assist him and help him make several potion cures, healing potions, and poison antidotes. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Snape and potions ingredients. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

After that, you’ll successfully finish all the potion cures, healing potions, and poison antidotes.

You’ll thank Professor Snape for his help, but he’ll tell you to save your appreciation for your Valentine.

Then you’ll decide to return to the Hospital Wing to try to awaken your crush. Proceed there when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll inform Professor McGonagall that you’ve managed to prepare numerous possible cures for bewitched sleep.

Professor McGonagall will praise you and say that you don’t have much time because your Valentine has been asleep for a long time. She’ll suggest applying your cures and seeing if they have the desired effect. To apply cures, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your Valentine. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Unfortunately, none of the healing potions, potion cures, or poison antidotes succeeded, indicating that the bewitched sleep is not the result of any known sleeping potion or poison. This line will differ based on your previous choice. 

You’ll add that there are two more possibilities you identified with your friends: a charm or a unique curse. You’ll think that if a charm is the cause of the bewitched sleep, you should try to test it now.

Professor McGonagall will attempt the Rennervate spell, but unfortunately, it won’t succeed.

You’ll wonder if it could be the sleeping charm, and Professor McGonagall will respond that the sleeping charm doesn’t last this long. However, she’ll add that it could be a powerful variation of the spell and suggest that you try. She’ll ask you what spell could cancel the effects of any charm. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is “Finite Incantatem”.

Trace the wand movement to cast a Finite Incantatem spell.

Unfortunately, there won’t be any changes yet.

This line will differ based on your previous choice.

Professor McGonagall will say that your only hope is to find the source of the curse and learn the nature of the magic involved. You will wonder if, given that it is a unique curse, simply removing the bee pendant might not have been enough to remove the effects of the curse. 

Professor McGonagall will agree, saying it’s a good thought and mentioning the possibility that the bee pendant is involved in the curse. She will suggest that you go back to the Three Broomsticks to find the origin of the pendant.

Go to the Three Broomsticks to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by Madam Rosmerta, who will mention that she wanted to ask how your Valentine’s date went, but when she returned to check on you two again, you weren’t there.

You’ll explain that things didn’t go as planned because it’s likely that the pendant you found cursed your Valentine into a cursed sleep.

You’ll tell her that you need to find out as much as you can about the bee pendant and ask her if she has learned anything new about it. She’ll say that she hasn’t, adding that people often lose their belongings at her inn. She’ll also express feeling terrible because such an item found in her establishment caused such harm.

Following that, she’ll ask if you need any help. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, shortly afterward, you’ll start questioning the patrons to see what you can find out. To interview patrons, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the witch and Bilton. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

After finishing the questioning, you’ll learn that Bill Weasley was there and was inquiring about cursed objects. Madam Rosmerta will wonder if the two of you are looking for the same item, and you’ll say that you’re not sure but that you need to find Bill to talk to him. These lines will differ based on your previous choice. 

You will also find out that Bill is headed to the Hog’s Head Inn, so you’ll immediately go there to find him.

Proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Bill will greet you and say he’s glad to see you, and you’ll also say that it’s nice to see him but that there’s something important you need to discuss with him.

You’ll place the bee pendant on the table and say that you have reason to believe that this pendant cursed your Valentine.

These lines will differ based on your previous choice. 

You’ll ask him if it might be the same pendant he was sent to find it, and Bill will say that it most likely is, but to be sure, you need to examine the pendant and note its features. To review the pendant, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended that you start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the wizard next to you and the pendant. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

The pendant has several characteristics that are worth noting for your investigation, such as the image of a honeybee.

Bill will add that the materials the necklace is made of are of the highest quality, including gold, jewels, and even goblin silver.  You’ll also notice a strange symbol carved into the underside. Bill will say that he’s not familiar with that symbol but is sure it means something.

He’ll say that you’ve noted several characteristics that seem worth investigating and ask you which aspect of the pendant is the most significant to you. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

After examining the necklace closely, Bill will confirm that it is indeed the same cursed pendant he was sent to find.

Bill will comment that indeed, and he’ll add that if he had found the pendant earlier, none of this would have happened. He’ll say that as a curse-breaker, he ought to confiscate it for safe storage at Gringotts, but knowing you, he knows you wouldn’t allow that just yet.

He’ll say that he’ll help you break the curse and add that to do that, you need to identify when and how the pendant was made. He’ll decide to return to Gringotts to find more information about the pendant, and you’ll decide to visit Professor Binns, who might be able to help you learn more about this mysterious necklace.
