The Curse of Love Part 3
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for the Curse of Love Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous part, you explored together with your friends what could cause bewitched sleep and concluded that there are three main causes: sleeping charms, sleeping potions, and a unique curse.
You decided to start with potions, so you went to the Potions Classroom and, with the help of Professor Snape, brewed all the potion cures, healing potions, and poison antidotes. After that, you returned to the Hospital Wing to try the potions and see if you could wake up your Valentine, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. You suggested testing if a charm was the cause, but that turned out not to be true either, leaving you with one option – a unique curse. After a short discussion with Professor McGonagall, you came up with the idea that perhaps the bee pendant was cursed.
Professor McGonagall advised you to go and investigate who the pendant belonged to and gather as much information about it as possible. So, you headed to the Three Broomsticks, where you began questioning patrons if anyone knew more about the bee pendant. However, all you learned was that Bill Weasley had also been in the Three Broomsticks and was searching for cursed objects. You found out he had gone to the Hog’s Head Inn and immediately followed him there.
Fortunately, he was there, and you began discussing and examining the bee pendant together, concluding some of its characteristics, such as the honey bee image and its valuable material structure. Bill confirmed that it was indeed a cursed object he had been seeking, offering to help you break the curse. He decided to return to Gringotts to gather more information about the necklace, while you decided to visit Professor Binns to see if he could assist you.

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a graduate student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, some dialogue, the star, and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress with the main story.)
Proceed to the History of Magic Classroom when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll see that Professor Binns is asleep, so you’ll try to wake him up, luckily succeeding. (The next lines of dialogue will differ depending on who you chose to be your Valentine, but in any case, it does not affect the story).
You’ll ask the professor if he can take a look at that pendant and tell you what he thinks, adding that it has a powerful curse on it and that you need to find out as much as you can about that necklace. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.
Professor Binns will comment that a symbol such as that is just the sort of thing you need to identify the pendant’s origins. He’ll then ask if you’re familiar with the concept of a maker’s mark. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.
In any case, Professor Binns will say that he’s fairly certain the symbol on the underside of that pendant is a maker’s mark. This means that if you manage to identify the maker’s mark, you’ll know who made the pendant. Professor Binns will add that, if you’re lucky, you might even be able to find out when and where the pendant was made.
To identify the maker’s mark, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
The bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Binns. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
When you finish, you’ll see that the maker’s mark on the bee pendant looks a lot like the Mark of Merlin.
You’ll ask him if that means the bee pendant may have belonged to Merlin himself. Professor Binns will say it’s possible, and there’s also a chance that Merlin forged the pendant and gave it to someone else. He’ll further add that if it truly is the Mark of Merlin, that pendant could be over a thousand years old, and he’ll say there’s only one way to be sure, and that’s to ask the legendary wizard himself.
Following that, you’ll thank the professor for his help and head to talk to Merlin’s portrait to learn how to save your Valentine.
Go to the Grand Staircase to continue the story. Unfortunately, you’ll see that Merlin isn’t in his portrait, and you’ll wonder where he could be. At that moment, Sir Cadogan will say that Merlin is out on important portrait business.
You’ll tell him that you need to speak with Merlin’s portrait because you have a cursed object with the Mark of Merlin on it. Sir Cadogan will be confused when he hears that and will ask you to show it to him.
You’ll ask him if he can help you, and he’ll say that he’ll help you only if you are worthy.
He’ll comment that you are worthy to be a knight, but that love is an entirely different matter. He’ll add that if you want him to help you, you must prove your dedication. Sir Cadogan will ask you what prompted you to choose that person as your Valentine. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.
Following that, he’ll say that no love is worthy without a trial, and he’ll ask you what you would be willing to do in order to rescue your beloved Valentine. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.
Sir Cadogan will then ask you to describe what makes your Valentine special, and then he’ll share what he knows about the pendant. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
Bonus progress actions are tied to Merlin’s portrait and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
Sir Cadogan will say that he’s convinced your feelings are genuine and that you’re worthy of his help. He’ll then reveal that the Mark of Merlin on your pendant is a forgery. You’ll be very confused by this, and he’ll explain to you that it’s not Merlin’s handwriting at all.
He’ll say that your pendant is likely at least a thousand years old and is a treasure of the highest order. You’ll ask him if he knows who cast the curse on it, but he’ll express fear that he can’t answer that question. He’ll add that the reason someone might have cast a curse on it could be related to matters of love.
You’ll be confused and disappointed that you didn’t find out why the pendant was cursed. Sir Cadogan will offer you one more piece of advice before you leave.
You’ll thank Sir Cadogan and decide to meet up with Bill to see if he has discovered anything.
Proceed to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Bill will ask you what you’ve found out about the bee pendant.
You’ll inform him that the symbol on the underside is a match for the Mark of Merlin, but it’s actually a forgery, and someone added a fake Mark of Merlin to it. You’ll also mention that you’ve confirmed the pendant is over a thousand years old and dates back to the Middle Ages.
Bill will still reassure you that you’ve found just the clue you needed, but he’ll explain it to you after he tells you what he found in the Gringotts Archives. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
Bonus progress actions are tied to the pendant and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
When you finish, you’ll find out that Bill has found other cases where people fell into a cursed sleep after wearing a pendant with bees. Bill will also add that it seems this pendant circulates every few decades and someone gets cursed, but that’s not the case every time, and that’s what’s confusing because not everyone who wore that pendant became cursed.
You’ll recall that Sir Cadogan mentioned that the possible cause of casting a curse on the pendant could be malicious revenge or a matter of love. You’ll also add that he said that when matters of love take magical forms, they can be unpredictable and powerful.
Bill will find it fascinating and ask if you think love or romance could be connected to the pendant’s curse. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.
Bill will say that the pendant may not curse everyone, but when it does, it seems to be powerful. He’ll also add that he hasn’t been able to uncover a single instance of the curse being broken.
Bill will also say that he doesn’t want to give up and that he knows what you need to do next. He’ll mention that the materials used to make the pendant include goblin silver, so it’s most likely forged by goblins.
He’ll add that you couldn’t determine the maker because you didn’t know when the pendant was forged, but after your conversation with Sir Cadogan, you know it dates back to the Middle Ages. He’ll say that there’s only one goblin from that period who could have created a masterwork like that.
Go to Godric Hollow to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll wonder why you’re going to the graveyard in Godric’s Hollow.
These lines will differ based on the year you attend.
Bill will say that when you told him the pendant was a thousand years old, he knew who made it—none other than King Ragnuk the First.
You will get additional lines of dialogue if you have completed the Secrets of Godric’s Hollow adventure.
You’ll express hope that if King Ragnuk made the bee pendant, he might be able to help you break the curse. However, you won’t see his spirit anywhere, so Bill will suggest that you may need to summon him and offer him a royal greeting.
Fortunately, he’ll hear you and appear.
He’ll be a bit angry that you’re disturbing him, and he’ll ask in whose name you dare to disturb him. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.
In any case, you’ll tell him that you wish to discuss one of his creations, which is a pendant in the shape of a bee, and he’ll request to see that pendant.
He’ll explain that he forged that pendant, but he didn’t curse it. He’ll suggest telling you the story of the pendant and how it came to be cursed, hoping it might help you. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
Once you finish, you’ll learn that a highborn witch gave the pendant to her lover, the beekeeper’s boy, who fell into a cursed sleep and never awakened. The witch’s parents tricked her into cursing her own lover with the bee pendant. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.
Bill will say that it helped them cover their tracks because no one would suspect that a pendant with the Mark of Merlin on it is cursed. King Ragnuk will say that he hoped it was lost to time, but now he sees that the pendant’s curse is as potent now as it ever was.
Unfortunately, the king won’t know how to break the curse.
King Ragnuk will admit he doesn’t know how to break the curse, suggesting that the pendant still holds secrets yet to be uncovered. Bill will add that if there’s a way to break it, only the highborn witch’s parents would know. He’ll decide to return to London to investigate further. You, on the other hand, choose to go back to Hogwarts and share the information with your friends, hoping they might help find a solution to save your Valentine.
This will mark the end of Part 3 of The Curse of Love Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems.
After so much investigation, we still don’t know how to break the curse, and we’re deeply worried about our Valentine. Will we manage to solve this mystery? Will we prove that love conquers all and that no curse can defeat it? Stay with us to find out in the final part of this romantic adventure.
