Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 4 of our Walkthrough for The Quibbler: Fight for the Front Page Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you met with Chiara to make sure she was okay. After talking to her for a while and playing a game of wizard’s chess to distract her from her worries, you decide to come up with a plan to trick Ismelda into believing that the creature she’s after is a hoax.

Thankfully, Barnaby, Tonks, and Tulip all agreed to help you with that. After discussing the situation in the Three Broomsticks, you came up with a plan to have Tulip and Tonks disguise themselves as a werewolf and trick Ismelda into thinking they were the ones she saw a few weeks earlier. Before putting the plan into motion, you will decide to see if Chiara is okay.

Walkthrough

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 5 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

Proceed to the Potions classroom when you are ready. When you arrive, you will notice Chiara going through the ingredients stores. She’ll say she is not sure if you’ll be able to win The Quibbler prize money, so she wanted to look for the ingredients.

You will point out that Snape wouldn’t hide the ingredients from her deliberately. Sadly, that’s the only option she has, and she’ll admit she doesn’t know what else to do, especially with the full moon just around the corner.

You’ll say you have a strategy for dealing with Ismelda. You will decide to tell her about it while assisting her in her search for the necessary ingredients. This requires obtaining five stars in three hours. Because all five stars are required to pass, do not begin this task if your energy bar is empty.

The only bonus action here is tied to your character, so focus on your actions if you want to save a bit of energy.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to find any Wolfsbane Potion ingredients. Chiara will thank you for helping her look for them.

She will ask what you are planning to do if something goes wrong with your plan to fool Ismelda. There are two options to reply with. If you like Chiara, it is highly recommended to select the second option. Bear in mind that picking this option requires you to be friends with Chiara and have her friendship level at 6 or higher.

She will thank you for going out of your way to help her. You will smile at her and say that she won’t have to worry about Ismelda ever again if everything goes according to plan. It’s finally time to set your plan into motion.

Go to Hagrid’s garden when you are ready. When you arrive, you will notice that Tulip already made the werewolf costume.

You’ll inform your friends that Barnaby told Ismelda he saw a werewolf near Hagrid’s garden. You’ll go over the plan one more time before Ismelda arrives.

Your friends will be incredibly excited about the prank. You will remind them that you’re doing the whole prank to help a friend. Tonks will say that pranking Ismelda is the best part about it.

Tulip will ask if you can give them a cue when to pop out. There are three options to choose from. This choice will have some effect later on, but it won’t change the outcome of the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

You’ll notice Ismelda approaching, so you’ll ask your friends to hide. She will be surprised to see you. You will say that Barnaby told you he spotted something near Hagrid’s garden, so you decided to give it a look.

You’ll give her another chance to accept your offer to split the prize money. Ismelda will be suspicious of you, and she will sense that you’re up to something. You’ll calmly tell her that you’ve already spotted the creature Barnaby mentioned.

This will spark Ismelda’s curiosity, and she’ll ask you to tell her what you saw. Tricking Ismelda requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There is a reward action linked to your character. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

Ismelda will sum up the things you said. The information you provided will match the description of the werewolf she saw a while ago. You’ll try your best to act surprised when you hear that.

You will then send a cue to Tonks and Tulip to pop out.

They will suddenly jump in front of Ismelda. Their werewolf costume will look incredibly convincing.

Ismelda will be completely horrified. You’ll pretend that you are scared too.

She will ask you to save her from the creature.

Suddenly, Tonks will start laughing.

Needless to say, Ismelda will be confused. Your friends will take off the costume and laugh at Ismelda’s reaction.

You’ll try your best to act surprised and you’ll ask if the two of them have been disguising themselves as magical creatures recently.

Tonks will say that they’ve been pranking people for a few weeks already. Tulip will add that they stepped up their game once The Quibbler came to town. Ismelda will ask if that means there’s no werewolf at Hogwarts. You will say that it definitely looks that way. Needless to say, Ismelda will not be happy with this turn of events.

Shortly after, she will leave the garden and head back to the castle.

You will be incredibly happy that everything went according to plan. Tonks will suggest going back to the Great Hall to celebrate. All that’s left now is to find a Moon Frog and claim The Quibbler prize.

You will have to wait four hours before you can continue. Since you’ll likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime. Proceed to the lakeshore once the waiting time is over.

You will remember Barnaby saying he found the Moon Frog near the lakeshore, but you won’t be able to see him anywhere.

Chiara will be confident that you will find them. She will take advantage of the opportunity to express her gratitude for everything you’ve done. You’ll smile at her and tell her you’re delighted to assist. All that remains is to locate the Moon Frog and win The Quibbler’s prize money. Moments later, Barnaby will show up. You will ask him if he managed to locate the Moon Frog.

The good news is that he was able to retrace his footsteps and find the Moon Frog. The bad news, however, is that he lost track of it again. Chiara will be very sad to hear that. You’ll tell her not to give up hope since there might be a way to locate the Moon Frog using the tracking spell.

You’ll take out your wand to cast Appare Vestigium. Trace the wand movement to do so.

The spell will work, and the Moon Frog’s tracks will appear on the ground.

You’ll ask Barnaby to prepare the camera. Catching the Moon Frog requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended to avoid starting this task if your energy is low.

There are bonus actions tied to Barnaby and your character. Prioritize these if you want to save as much energy as possible.

You will spot the Moon Frog standing nearby. You’ll quickly ask Barnaby to take a picture.

He’ll take out the camera and photograph the Moon Frog.

Chiara will be incredibly happy that you finally managed to get the photo of this magical creature. You will notice some Glow Bugs surrounding the Moon Frog.

Barnaby will say that the frog looks very familiar to him. You will realize that the Moon Frog is actually Sir Ribbithe, Liz’s lost frog.

You will remember Tulip saying that Liz was looking for it. Barnaby will point out that the frog is glowing. You’ll realize that it must’ve been eating some Glow Bugs, which is likely the reason why it’s glowing. Chiara will realize that without the Moon Frog, there’s no way to earn the prize money.

She will be unsure what to do. There are two options to reply with. Both of these options will lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Barnaby will apologize for letting you down. He’ll decide to take Sir Ribbithe back to Liz. You will ask him to show you the photograph he took. He will take a look at it and notice an unusual magical creature standing behind Sir Ribbithe.

You will recognize the creature as Quintaped.

All of you will take a look around, but you won’t be able to see the creature anywhere. Chiara will assume that Tonks and Tulip were disguising themselves again. Barnaby will point out that both of them are busy doing other things. In other words, it was a real Quintaped. Barnaby will say that Quintapeds are extremely rare magical creatures.

Chiara will suggest bringing the photo to Mr. Lovegood. Perhaps you might be able to win the prize with it. Proceed to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You will greet Mr. Lovegood and ask him if anyone turned in a photo of a Crumple-Horned Snorkack.

Fortunately for you, no one had any luck finding this elusive magical creature. Mr. Lovegood will say that the Crumple-Horned Snorkack is most likely not in Hogsmeade. As it seems, someone was probably playing a joke on him. Barnaby will wonder why anyone would joke about it.

Mr. Lovegood will explain that some people in the wizarding world think The Quibbler is a joke, which might be the reason why the anonymous tip he received was a prank. However, he’ll say he believes in everything he reports.

And that includes the Crumple-Horned Snorkack. He’ll say that he’s determined to find it.

Mr. Lovegood will say that he still needs a front-page story for the next issue of The Quibbler. You’ll tell him you might be able to help with that. He’ll ask if you managed to find the Moon Frog. Chiara will smile and say that you found something even better.

You’ll then get to review the photo with Mr. Lovegood. This requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

He will be curious to know what you’re planning to do with all that gold. There are two options to reply with. THIS CHOICE WILL DETERMINE THE OUTCOME OF THE ADVENTURE!!! If you like Chiara and want to help her, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to pick the first option.

If you decide to give Chiara the entire reward money, Barnaby will follow your lead and say that he will also let her take his share of the prize. Chiara will be overjoyed with your generosity, and she will thank you from the bottom of her heart.

Mr. Lovegood will congratulate you on winning the prize, and he’ll say that he’ll send you a copy of the next issue of The Quibbler.

You’ll happily tell your friends that you can finally enjoy a quiet, adventure-free afternoon. Chiara will suggest having some Butterbeer. She will decide to get the first round. Barnaby will go with her.

While waiting for them to get back with the Butterbeer, Tonks will approach you and say that she heard about your Quintaped photo.

She’ll cheekily say that the word travels fast around Hogwarts. You will ask if she was disguising herself again. She will laugh cheerfully and decide to keep that a mystery. You’ll smile at her and agree that some things are better left mysterious.

She will ask if you are done chasing the Crumple-Horned Snorkack. You will nod and say that you’ve learned a valuable lesson from this whole experience.
