Walkthrough
Upon starting the adventure, Professor McGonagall will ask you to report to her classroom, so proceed there when you are ready. Professor McGonagall will welcome the students to her class. She will inform everyone about the topic of the lesson.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 6 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on the year you’re in.]
She’ll request a volunteer to demonstrate Feather Duster to Ferret Transfiguration, and you’ll be the first to step forward. Unfortunately, the Professor will choose someone else for the transfiguration demonstration, selecting Wingardium Leviosa Kid.
Liz will quickly remember that he had trouble casting Wingardium Leviosa and you’ll recall helping him master the spell, but sadly, he always had trouble casting it properly. Shortly after, Wingardium Leviosa Kid will raise his wand and cast the spell.
Unfortunately, his transfiguration won’t really work as intended.
The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will be the first one to comment on the result of his transfiguration.
Needless to say, Merula’s words will affect the poor kid, so you’ll ask if he’s alright, and he’ll admit that he’s feeling embarrassed.
You’ll comfort him by saying that everyone messes up from time to time, but, sadly, your words won’t make him feel better. He’ll confide in you, saying that he thinks no one really cares about him.
You will say that people often call you a Curse-Breaker.
On the other hand, being called Wingardium Leviosa Kid isn’t really great. However, he will decide to prove to everyone that he is more than that, and you’ll be curious about his plans. Before sharing any specifics, he’ll express his interest in your experiences as a curse-breaker, and you’ll happily agree to share your insights. Talking about being a curse-breaker requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.
If you are looking to save as much energy as possible, it is recommended to earn a single star and wait for the timer to expire. It is also worth noting there are bonus actions tied to Wingardium Leviosa Kid, Merula, and your character.
After hearing your curse-breaking stories, Wingardium Leviosa Kid will reveal that he also wants to become a curse-breaker. This will surprise you, and you’ll realize you’re not the only one who heard his aspirations.
Merula will be quite certain that Wingardium Leviosa Kid doesn’t have what it takes to become a curse-breaker. You can choose whether you want to agree with her, defend Leviosa Kid, or stay neutral. If you like Merula, it is recommended to agree with her. If you like Leviosa Kid, you should defend him.
Regardless of your choice, Wingardium Leviosa Kid will be determined to become a curse-breaker. He will request your guidance on how to achieve this, and you’ll be honored by his request. However, since you haven’t had formal training in curse-breaking, you won’t be entirely sure where to start.
Wingardium Leviosa Kid, now known as Wilfred Levi Kidd, will propose starting at the library. Before heading there, you’ll inquire about his name, and he will introduce himself as Wilfred Levi Kidd, explaining that his initials follow a family tradition. With his father also named Wilfred, he prefers to go by Levi. You’ll be pleased to officially meet him after all this time and suggest going to the library once the class ends.
Proceed there once you are ready to continue. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say. You’ll notice Levi reading something.
He’ll mention that he was keeping himself occupied with brain teasers while waiting for you and confess that he enjoys solving puzzles. In addition, he gathered all the books he could find on curse-breaking. You will acknowledge that you could also benefit from doing some research.
Levi will thank you for agreeing to be his mentor. Your previous choice will take effect here.
You’ll realize that Levi is genuinely dedicated to becoming a curse-breaker, so you make the decision to do your best to assist him. Soon after, his first lesson in curse-breaking will begin. Reading about curse-breaking requires earning five stars within one hour. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are reward actions tied to Levi and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
Following the lesson, Levi will express that he found it very helpful. You will then have the opportunity to offer Levi some advice. This choice won’t significantly affect the story, so feel free to pick either option.
Shortly after that, Levi will find it interesting that many famous curse-breakers worked at Gringotts. You’ll mention your friend Bill Weasley, who works at Gringotts, and Levi will express a desire to meet him. You’ll suggest that Bill might allow both of you to join him on one of his adventures, which will excite Levi. You will decide to meet with Bill and discuss the possibility of accompanying him on his next mission.
Proceed to the Three Broomsticks once you are ready to continue. When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. Meeting with Bill at the Three Broomsticks will remind you of the time you and the others surprised him after his graduation.
Bill will have fond memories of that time.
You will tell him you are helping Levi become a curse-breaker, and you need his help. If you completed Adventures in Curse-Breaking, you will receive an additional line of dialogue.
Bill will gladly agree to help, and Levi will feel amazing sitting next to two curse-breakers, although you’ll notice he’s a bit uptight.
Your friend will kindly ask Levi to call him Bill, and Wilfred will wonder why Bill chose to become a curse-breaker. Bill’s answer will differ, based on whether you completed the Career Advice side quest or not.
You’ll agree with your friend, and Levi will ask about your favorite thing about being a curse-breaker. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.
Shortly after, Bill will ask why you wanted to meet, and you’ll explain that you want to go with him on his next Gringotts curse-breaking mission. If you’ve completed Adventures in Curse-Breaking, you will get an additional line of dialogue.
Bill will be uncertain about allowing you and Levi to join him. It appears you’ll need to persuade him. In order to convince Bill to let you join him, you will need to earn five stars within an hour. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this task if you are low on energy.
There are bonus actions tied to Levi and your character. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.
After thinking it over, Bill will agree to let both you and Levi join him, but he has one condition. You’ll ask what that condition is, and he’ll want Levi to be aware of the dangers involved in curse-breaking.
You’ll support Bill’s decision, and when Levi inquires about the potential dangers, you’ll decide to connect him with Beatrice Haywood, who has a deep understanding of these risks. Levi will remember Beatrice being stuck in a portrait during her fifth year, and Bill will agree, saying he should definitely have a conversation with her.
Head to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom once you are ready to introduce Levi to Beatrice. When you arrive, you will find Ismelda teaching Beatrice how to cast Densaugeo.
By the looks of it, Beatrice will be a fast learner. Her spell will hit the training dummy the moment before you walk past it.
Ismelda will find the whole situation funny.
You’ll highlight the potential danger of the spell, and Beatrice will apologize to both you and Levi. Since she doesn’t know Levi’s name, she’ll use the nickname Leviosa Kid. Levi will politely request that she not call him that. Ismelda will find it amusing that you’re spending time with Leviosa Kid.
You’ll introduce Levi to them and mention that you’re assisting him in becoming a curse-breaker. Beatrice won’t initially see the connection to her, so you’ll promptly explain why you need her assistance.
Levi will ask her to tell him about her experience, but unfortunately, Beatrice won’t seem willing to talk about it. You have two options to choose from. Both of those will end up with a similar outcome, so feel free to pick either option.
In the end, Beatrice will agree to talk about what happened.
Talking to Beatrice requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, you shouldn’t start this task if your energy bar is empty.
There are reward actions linked to Beatrice and Levi. Prioritize their actions if you want to save some energy.
You’ll ask Levi how he feels after hearing Beatrice’s story, and he’ll express his sympathy for her tough time in the portrait. Beatrice will add that she became stronger through the experience, and you’ll agree. Still, she’ll mention that many people see her as damaged, and Levi will understand that.
Levi will reveal that his determination to become a curse-breaker is fueled by his fear of being forever labeled as Leviosa Kid. Beatrice will encourage him to follow his dreams, and when you ask if he’s certain about becoming a curse-breaker, Levi will be very confident.
You will suggest heading over to Gringotts to find Bill and join him on the curse-breaking adventure.
This will conclude Part 1 of The Rise of a Curse-Breaker adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 300 Coins.
It looks like Levi really wants to become a curse-breaker. Will the mission be dangerous? Will Levi remain determined to pursue his dream? Find out in the next part of this adventure!
