Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for The Serpent and The Egg Part 3 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!  In the previous part of your journey, you worked closely with Hagrid and Madam Blackbird to uncover the challenges surrounding the Horned Serpent egg. You discovered the importance of warmth, trust, and timing, and took your first steps toward bonding with Red. 

Now, with new knowledge and a strategy in place, it’s time to return underwater and attempt to gain Red’s trust. The future of the egg depends on your actions—will your efforts be enough to unite the serpents and ensure a safe hatching? The final part of this magical mission begins now.

Go to the Open Ocean to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll notice that your own Horned Serpent is nowhere to be seen—only Red is there, silently watching. Unsure of how to approach him, you’ll turn to Madam Blackbird for advice. 

She’ll explain that you have a few options: you can approach Red directly, but that will require a great deal of confidence; you could also try calling him over to you, or simply wait and see if he comes to you on his own. She’ll then ask you to decide which approach you feel is best.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, whichever approach you choose, Red will appear slightly agitated. Recognizing this, you’ll immediately begin using your bonding tactic to calm him down. 

To Miror Red, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Madam Blackbird. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Red will allow you to approach the egg, but when you try to pick it up, he will object. He’ll gently place his head over the egg, showing a protective stance.

At that moment, your Horned Serpent will approach Red. Seeing the familiar presence of your own creature, Red will finally understand that you genuinely want to help and that your intentions are sincere. With this new sense of trust, Red will step aside, allowing you to carefully handle the egg and take the necessary steps to ensure its safety and warmth. 

After surfacing, Hagrid will be waiting for you. You’ll recount everything that happened underwater, explaining how you gained Red’s trust and successfully handled the situation with the egg. After a brief discussion, Madam Blackbird will ask if you think you’d be willing to work more with dangerous creatures like this in the future. 

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Following that, you will decide to find a nice, warm spot where the egg can rest and heat up safely.

To find a warm spot, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Trace the wand movement to cast Defodio.

You will successfully dig a hole in the sand, creating a safe and warm place for the egg to rest.

Trace the wand movement to cast Flipendo to bury the egg back.

The egg is now safely warm, resting in the sand, where it is being carefully heated.

You will decide to take a short break, leaving the egg to warm up in the sand. A good strategy during this time is to recharge your energy by visiting nearby locations where tappies are found. 

After some time, when you return, Hagrid will comment that you’ve arrived just in time because the egg is about to hatch.

Madam Blackbird will tell you that it’s time to return it to its nest, but this time without using magic, as you need to be very careful.  There are three options to choose from. If you like Madam Blackbird, it is recommended to pick the first option.

To unearth the egg, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

When you take the egg out of the sand, you’ll be determined to head straight to its nest. However, Hagrid will look a bit sad because he’s run out of Gillyweed and can’t come with you. 

At this point, you’ll get different lines of dialogue depending on which year you’re in at Hogwarts — specifically, whether or not you’ve learned the Bubble-Head Charm. Trace the wand movement to cast Bubble-Head Charm.

Now that everything is ready, you and your companions are set to dive back underwater and witness the hatching of the Horned Serpent’s egg.

When you arrive at the nest, you will gently place the egg back where it belongs. Together with your Serpent companions, you’ll gather around the egg, patiently awaiting a very important and beautiful moment.

To hatch the egg, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Hagrid and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Fortunately, the egg will hatch without any trouble, and the baby Horned Serpent will look absolutely adorable.

Hagrid and Madam Blackbird will tell you that you did an excellent job and will praise your efforts. You’ll thank them warmly, and then Madam Blackbird will ask you what you enjoyed the most about this adventure.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

As a token of appreciation — and to commemorate this wonderful adventure — Madam Blackbird will gift you a Horned Serpent–inspired necklace.
