The Sphinx Club Challenge Part 1

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for The Sphinx Club Challenge Part 1 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery! The night skies hold a rare spectacle, and Professor Dumbledore believes the Sphinx Club is the perfect host for the event.

But just as the countdown to the meteor shower begins, sabotage threatens to ruin everything. Can you protect the magical moment and lead your club to glory? Finish the entire series to receive a special Sphinx Club trophy — and unveil a hidden mystery waiting just beyond the stars.

In this adventure, there will be slight dialogue variations depending on which subject you choose to focus on within the Sphinx Club. We chose Astronomy, but aside from a few lines of dialogue, the overall story remains the same—so there’s no need to worry. Enjoy our guide, and greetings from Hogwarts Cafe!

Proceed to the Dumbledore Office when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

When you arrive, as usual, you’ll be greeted by Dumbledore along with the rest of the group – Professor Sinistra, Talbott, Merula, Chiara, and Ben. Dumbledore will, as always, inform you about the next challenge, this time for the Sphinx Club. He will immediately warn you to be even more cautious than before, since someone has already tried to sabotage two of the club challenges. 

This time, the attacks might be even more aggressive. He’ll also mention that you’re getting close to uncovering who’s behind all of this. After that, he’ll begin explaining the details of the Sphinx Club challenge.

To discover your challenge, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Sinistra. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Professor Sinistra will explain that a rare meteor shower is about to appear in the skies above Hogwarts, and she has asked for the Sphinx Club’s help in organizing a special viewing event. Your task will be to assist her and incorporate all four Sphinx Club specialty subjects into the experience.

However, you’ll ask her how Astronomy fits into this and how the other three Sphinx Club specialties will be incorporated. She’ll respond that it will be up to you and your friends to decide.

To ensure that you understand which subjects are involved, Professor Dumbledore will then quiz you by asking which of the listed options is not a Sphinx Club specialty. The correct answer is Arithmancy.

There will be slight differences in the dialogues here, where previous incidents from the past Club Challenges will be mentioned. After discussing, you’ll decide to head to the Sphinx Club room together to make some decisions and plan out the events more effectively.

Go to the Sphinx Club to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

There, your friend Ben will welcome you, and there will be some slight differences in the dialogues depending on whether you’re a member of the Sphinx Club or not. Following that, he will introduce you to the Sphinx Club subjects, which include Charms, Transfiguration, History of Magic, and Astronomy. 

Your task is to combine all of these into one Club Challenge event, hoping it will be a success. You and Ben will then decide to discuss the subjects so you can divide them and decide who will focus on what.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass. 

Sadly, in this task, there won’t be any bonus progress actions. You’ll find out that Chiara chose Astronomy, Merula chose History of Magic, Talbott chose Transfiguration, and Ben chose Charms. Now it’s your turn to choose. 

Keep in mind that no matter what you choose, the core of the story will remain the same. There will only be slight differences in some dialogues and choices, but the essence of the adventure won’t change. So, enjoy and don’t worry!

After that, Ben will ask you to confirm your choice.

Following that, you’ll talk to the friend who chose the same subject as you, and you’ll agree to begin your research in the library. 

Keep in mind that there will be only slight differences in the dialogues depending on the subject you chose. After that, you’ll meet everyone together in the courtyard to construct a plan for the club event challenge.

Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive, you’ll see that all of your friends have gathered a lot of research material, as the Sphinx Club truly values knowledge.

Here, it will also be mentioned which subject you chose to focus on, and following that, you’ll decide that everyone should help each other to ensure the event goes off without a hitch. You’ll then discuss how to combine all your talents together to make sure everything proceeds according to plan.

To study your subject, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Chiara and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Together, you’ll come to the conclusion that in the event, you can easily incorporate all four magical fields. By using Transfiguration, you’ll be able to create various astronomical devices, such as telescopes, which you’ll enchant with Charms to allow you to view everything possible.

Also, the meteor shower itself has been recorded in history, and witnessing its return will help you relive history. In the past, the hosts also created devices with short lenses and a wide field of view to enlarge portions of the night sky. 

Shortly after,, Ben will ask you to choose a name for these devices, so pick the one that you like the most and that will be mentioned throughout the entire adventure.

Then, you’ll decide that once your plan is complete, you’ll present your idea together to Professor Sinistra. Go to the Astronomy Tower to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. 

When you arrive, Professor Sinistra will be waiting for you. If you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet, this will be your introduction. Then, you and your friends will tell her that you’ve roughly put together a plan for the event and that you’d like her opinion on it.

To plan meteor viewing, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Sinistra, Merula, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Professor Sinistra will be impressed by your idea and will mention that it’s actually a fantastic way to showcase all four fields of the club. She’ll then ask you which aspect of the Sphinx Club’s meteor viewing you’re most excited about. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Professor Sinistra said that she will inform the other professors about your plan so that they can assist you. She will also mention the name of the device you’ve chosen. Then, she will add that Professor McGonagall would be the most helpful at this point in terms of the devices. 

However, when you attempt to leave and continue on with the event preparations, you will receive a threatening note describing the following: 

This will, of course, upset you, but it will ignite a strong desire to uncover who is behind these threats and who is trying to ruin all the challenges. Is it someone you know? Is this person part of Hogwarts’ history?

We don’t know yet, but we will find out. In any case, you will decide to head to Professor McGonagall, who will assist you with the devices.
