The Sphinx Club Challenge Part 3
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for The Sphinx Club Challenge Part 3 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery! In the previous part, as you prepared for the spectacular meteor shower, you found yourself in the middle of increasingly mysterious and unsettling events.
A threatening message, conversations with friends like Talbott, Chiara, and Merula, and the selection of spells that may prove crucial for the upcoming challenges all hinted at a serious threat looming over the Sphinx Club challenge.
Thanks to Merula’s research, a connection between past events and present dangers was uncovered — including an eerie message from long ago that closely matches the one you received.
Unfortunately, the tension peaked when Chiara delivered shocking news: the school’s telescope has been sabotaged. Now, in Part 3, it’s time to search for answers — as the danger begins to come into clearer focus.
In this adventure, there will be slight dialogue variations depending on which subject you choose to focus on within the Sphinx Club. We chose Astronomy, but aside from a few lines of dialogue, the overall story remains the same—so there’s no need to worry. Enjoy our guide, and greetings from Hogwarts Cafe!

Proceed to the Astronomy Tower when you are ready. There, you’ll find a visibly worried Professor Sinistra, who confirms that Chiara was telling the truth — the Hogwarts telescope has indeed been seriously damaged.
Given how crucial this telescope is for the upcoming event, you’ll decide to work together and assess whether it can be repaired in time.

To examine the scene, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Sinistra. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Luckily, the damage to the telescope is extensive but mostly surface-level, meaning you and Professor Sinistra can repair it together. However, a key mechanism needed to reassemble the telescope is missing, and you’ll need to find it before the meteor shower begins.
You’ll also notice an empty jar near the telescope, which raises further concerns. Following that, Chiara will ask you which of the recent discoveries—or incidents—worries you the most. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Then, Professor Sinistra will ask everyone to cast Reparo together in order to fix the damaged parts before searching for the missing mechanism, so trace the wand movement to cast Reparo.

That will repair the telescope, but of course, the real challenge remains: finding the missing mechanism. Because nothing says “fun event” like last-minute scavenger hunts to fix ancient magical machinery.

You’ll realize that only an astronomer with great skill and knowledge could have managed to sabotage the telescope—someone who likely had access to its schematics. With that in mind, you’ll decide to head straight to the library, hoping that the saboteur may have left behind some kind of clue.
Go to the Library to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll find the entire library overrun with mischievous Pixies. Madam Pince will be in quite a state and will ask for your help in dealing with the creatures that are disturbing the peace and quiet of the library.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the broken jar. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

You successfully ask all the students to leave the library so that you and Madam Pince can deal with the mischievous Pixies.
In this situation, you’ll need the Immobulus spell, which you had the opportunity to learn from Professor Flitwick. Without wasting any time, trace the wand movement to cast Immobulus to halt the unruly invasion and restore peace to the library.

The spell works perfectly, leaving the Pixies paralyzed, which gives you the chance to safely gather them up. You’ll decide to take them to Hagrid, as he knows exactly what to do with these mischievous creatures.

Of course, your suspicions will rise again as you notice the jar this time is open. The pieces will fall into place as you realize that the Pixies were originally in that jar, and someone must have opened it to distract and sabotage the event.
Madam Pince will ask you what you think about the idea that someone might have used the Pixies as a tool for sabotage. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

As you discuss the schematic of the telescope, Madam Pince will mention that earlier today, a student had asked to see the diagram. She won’t know the student’s name, but she’ll mention it was a girl who was carrying a large stack of books. The girl told Madam Pince that she needed the schematic to study it on behalf of the Sphinx Club.
When you ask Madam Pince for the schematic, you’ll notice a note on it that says, “For Flame’s old friend,” which once again points to Skylar Flame, the founder of the Sphinx Club.
This leads you to the next step of investigating Skylar and his associates, as it seems that someone connected to him may have taken the mechanism for the telescope. You’ll decide to go back to Merula and check if she has uncovered any new information.
Proceed to the History of Magic when you are ready. You will inform Merula about the new note you found and the missing mechanism. She will understand the connection and add that she found something on a bookshelf in the Sphinx Club that might help you locate Flame’s old friend.

You will recall the manuscript, mentioning that you found it during the Tournament of Clubs. It mostly contains a screed against Olin Oakwood, the founder of the Hippogriff Club, but there are other things in it as well. “It seems the Hogwarts club founders started as close friends, but things didn’t end well between them.”
You will thank Merula and mention that this will surely help. However, she will respond that the two of you will research it together because she found this lead and also wants to be involved.

To research club founders, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the book, the poster, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You will notice that there are drawings similar to the crest on the flyer, with the words: “Our names are our inspiration!” This will lead you to realize that The Lost Trials of Iron, Oak, and Flame are references to the student club founders.
The “Oak” branch symbolizes Olin Oakwood, the founder of the Hippogriff Club. The “Flame” refers to Skylar Flame, the founder of the Sphinx Club. Finally, the “Iron Shield” represents Margaretta Ironbark, the founder of the Ironclad Club. This is the connection you’ve been looking for – the crest symbolizes the Hogwarts student club founders.

There are no names directly associated with the ring of blooming flowers, which is the symbol that appears on the warning note. This symbol is likely the most important one, as it connects the various elements of the mystery you’re investigating.
Merula will add that she feels like you’re both on the cusp of a great discovery. She will then ask you what you think about all of this. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Merula will then mention that she has also found a map, and on it, there is a note that reads “The way to my old friend.” Together, you will decide to follow the map’s directions immediately, hoping that it will lead you to the missing mechanism and bring you closer to solving the mystery.
Go to the Red Cap’s Hole to continue the story. The map will lead you to a familiar Red Cap hole, but you’ll need to be cautious since Red Caps are highly dangerous creatures.
Before you start investigating in hopes of finding the lost mechanism, Spinx will appear. Depending on how many times you’ve encountered Spinx in previous adventures, you’ll receive different lines of dialogue.
Merula will wonder aloud if this means that Spinx could be Flame’s old friend and will ask what sort of friends a Sphinx makes. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Near the Sphinx, you will notice the mechanism you need, but as you attempt to take it, the Sphinx will awaken and consider you a thief. Following that, the Sphinx will begin speaking in riddles.
You will have to solve the riddle to obtain the mechanism. The riddle will be: “To uncloud your mind or clarify your view, I am that which brings sharpness to you.” You will have time to discuss it together before you answer the riddle.
To ponder the riddle, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Sphinx, Merula ,and Chiara. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Shortly after, Merula will ask you what you think the answer to the riddle is. The correct answer is “Focus”.

When you give the correct answer, the Sphinx will allow you to take the mechanism and leave the place without any trouble.

This will mark the end of Part 3 of The Sphinx Club Challenge Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 500 Sphinx Experience Points.
With the mechanism in hand and the mystery beginning to unravel, you and Merula leave the Sphinx’s lair, feeling a sense of accomplishment. The pieces of the puzzle are slowly coming together, but there are still many questions to be answered.
As the night deepens and the meteor shower approaches, you can’t help but wonder what other secrets lie ahead, waiting to be discovered. The adventure is far from over, and the journey promises even more challenges and revelations.
