The Third Quidditch Cup Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for The Third Quidditch Cup Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. This adventure becomes available after completing Quidditch Season 3 Chapter 11. During it, you and your teammates will compete for the Quidditch Cup, and once again, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills and leadership.

Walkthrough

(Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.)

The first task of this adventure will be to attend the assembly in the Great Hall, so proceed there when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. Murphy will be happy to see you.

You’ll ask if he is looking forward to the announcement, and he will smile and say that he was barely able to sleep. Murphy will be curious to know how you are feeling.

There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

You’ll wonder if he already calculated your team’s chances of making it to the final match, and he will smile and nod. However, he’ll say it is for the best to hear the announcement directly from the Headmaster. Moments later, Professor Dumbledore will ask for everyone’s attention, saying a few words before getting to the big reveal.

And just like you were hoping for, your house team will be one of the Quidditch Cup finalists!

All of your teammates will loudly cheer in excitement.

Murphy will congratulate you on making it to the final.

Following that, Orion will tell you there are some things he wants to discuss with you. You’ll be curious to know what he wants to talk about, but he will suggest checking on your friends first.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and the Opposing Chaser. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

As it seems, everyone will agree that your team deserves to be playing in the final match. After all, you and your teammates did work incredibly hard throughout the whole season. However, you still need to win the Quidditch Cup final, and it won’t be an easy task. Orion will suggest making preparations as soon as possible, and you’ll agree with him.

Proceed there when you are ready to continue. You’ll ask Orion about the important team matter he wanted to discuss with you. His response will differ, based on the outcome of the previous two Quidditch seasons.

Orion will say that the upcoming match will likely be the most difficult one you’ve ever played, and you’ll wonder why that is the case. He will explain that your team has been suspended for a good part of the season while your opponents were able to train and improve their skills.

He’ll ask if you agree with him. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Orion will then say that the two of you need to discuss who should continue as the team’s captain for the rest of the season, and you’ll ask him if he wants his old position back. He’ll suggest talking about it while balancing on brooms before making a final decision.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Orion, his broom, and your broom. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Once you are done, you will ask Orion if he’s made up his mind, and he will nod and say that he realized something important. He’ll point out that you did an amazing job bringing the team together. Because of that, he wants you to continue leading the team.

You’ll thank him for having faith in you. Moments later, Penny will arrive and say that the opponent team’s captain wants to talk to you in the courtyard as soon as possible. Unfortunately, she won’t know why their captain wants to meet with you.

You’ll decide to head there immediately. The Opposing Chaser will be glad to see you.

You’ll be curious to know why he wanted to meet with you.

The following lines will differ based on whether or not you’ve completed the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade adventure. If you did, the Opposing Chaser will say that they know about your team catching the Legendary Golden Snitch. Needless to say, he won’t be happy about it. If you haven’t completed the adventure, he’ll tell you that his teammates caught the Legendary Snitch.

Either way, one team will say that the other one has an unfair advantage for the Quidditch Cup final.

You’ll try to calm everyone down before the situation escalates. Keeping the peace requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Murphy and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Murphy will approach everyone and say that he’s overheard the conversation. He’ll ask if it is true that the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade has been caught. You’ll nod and say that the Snitch was indeed caught. He’ll say that catching the Legendary Snitch is a great achievement.

However, the Golden Snitch of Hogsmeade hasn’t always been lucky for everyone.

You’ll ask him to explain that.

Murphy will suggest heading over to the Quidditch pitch to meet someone.

You will need to wait two hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Quidditch pitch once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you’ll notice there is no one on the pitch except for you, the Opposing Chaser, and Murphy.

Murphy will smile at you before calling someone named Badger to show up. Moments later, a ghost on a broom will arrive.

He will seem happy to meet Murphy.

Your friend will introduce the ghost to you.

Badger Picklish will happily greet you.

Murphy will tell him how skilled you are at Quidditch, and Badger will decide to put your knowledge to the test.

He’ll ask you what technique is best used for defending the goal hoops. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is ‘Hanging Broomstick Block’.

You will then tell him you want to talk about the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade. You’ll notice that Badger isn’t too comfortable talking about it.

You will tell him that one of the teams recently acquired the legendary Snitch. These lines will differ based on whether or not you’ve completed the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade adventure.

Badger will say that the Snitch didn’t bring him any luck.

You’ll ask him to tell you what happened, and he will decide to tell you the whole story of Badger Picklish and the 1927 Quidditch Cup. Talking to Badger requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Badger, Murphy, and Murphy’s Kneazle. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You’ll thank Badger for sharing his story. As it turns out, the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade didn’t bring him any luck. Unfortunately, his Quidditch career never recovered after his defeat at the 1927 Quidditch Cup.

He will advise the one who has the Snitch to do him a favor and destroy it.

Murphy will find it hard to believe that the Golden Snitch could cause so much trouble. Suddenly, his Kneazle will notice him holding the object and will rush towards him.

After a few moments, Kneil will swallow the Snitch.

Not long after that, the Snitch will cause the poor Kneazle to move in all directions.

Murphy will notice that his Kneazle is heading towards the Training Grounds. You’ll quickly decide to go after his pet.

Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready to continue. When you arrive, you’ll notice that both Orion and Skye are there. She’ll say that she just saw a flying Kneazle.

You will quickly tell her what happened.

Suddenly, you’ll spot Kneil flying around.

You’ll need to find a way to save the poor Kneazle. Coming up with a strategy requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it whenever it is available if you want to save a bit of energy.

After discussing some strategies, you’ll figure out that the best course of action would be using a three-person Quidditch formation to catch up with Kneil.

Orion will ask which maneuver would be best for catching the Kneazle. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is ‘Parkin’s Pincer’.

Skye will be glad that her family’s maneuver will help in this situation. Orion will go over the strategy before the three of you get on your brooms. Moments later, Skye and Orion will flank Kneil, and you will use the opportunity to catch the Kneazle.

Shortly after getting back on the ground, Kneil will spit out the Golden Snitch.

All three of you will be glad that the strategy worked. The only thing that’s left is to figure out what to do with the Lucky Snitch. The following lines will differ based on whether or not you completed the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade adventure.

You’ll say that you want to do what’s right for the team. Orion will share some of his wisdom with you, and he’ll advise you to listen to your teammates to find the answer you seek. You’ll agree that the whole team should make the decision, and you will decide to return Murphy’s Kneazle to him. In the meantime, Orion will gather the team to determine what to do with the Golden Snitch.

Proceed to the Quidditch Changing Room when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You will thank Orion for assembling the team and ask if they’ve talked about what to do with the Lucky Snitch.

Orion will inform you that he’s spoken with each team member and that they’ve reached a decision. He’ll encourage you to listen to your teammates’ input before revealing further details.

Listening to your team requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Orion, Bean, and your team’s Seeker. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

As it seems, everyone on the team wants to give up the Legendary Snitch of Hogsmeade.

Orion will ask if you agree with them. There are two options to reply with. While this choice won’t significantly impact the story, it is highly recommended to pick the first option and agree with the team’s decision.

In the end, you won’t need to rely on luck to win the Quidditch Cup. Your hard work and training should determine whether or not you win the final match.

Your teammates will happily cheer after hearing that.

Still, you’ll need to figure out how to get rid of the Snitch. Murphy will suggest that he knows someone who can help you with that, and that person is none other than Professor McGonagall.
