The Treasure Hunt Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for The Treasure Hunt Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During this adventure, you, Merula, and Ben will get the opportunity to train some adorable Nifflers.

On top of that, you will be hunting treasures that Hagrid scattered all over the castle. Once you start the adventure, Hagrid will ask you to meet him in his garden, so go there when you are ready.

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

When you arrive, you will notice that Ben and Merula are also there. Hagrid will say there is something he needs your help with.

Learning about Hagrid’s idea is your next task. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There is an action with bonus progress tied to Hagrid. Prioritize it to save a bit of energy.

When you are done, you will learn that Hagrid wants you, Merula, and Ben to train some Nifflers. Apparently, he wants to try different training methods and see what works best.

Hagrid will be curious to know what you think of Nifflers. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so you can feel free to pick the option you prefer. However, if you like these magical creatures, it is recommended to select the first option.

In any case, Hagrid will be quite sure you can help him find out the best way to train Nifflers. He’ll add that your Niffler would be perfect for the assignment.

As for Merula and Ben, they will each be assigned a novice Niffler from the Ministry.

Your next task is to meet with Hagrid on the training grounds.

Upon arriving, you will notice that Hagrid already brought the Nifflers. He’ll gently hold your Niffler and introduce the other two Nifflers, Sebastian and Lorelei, to Ben and Merula.

Merula will pick Lorelei and Ben will be training Sebastian. Hagrid will then decide to tell you more about different training techniques.

To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Hagrid, Ben, and Sebastian. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Hagrid will explain that getting the Nifflers to focus is the hardest part of their training. Usually, these creatures want to grab any shiny thing they see.

You will need to train the Niffler to seek out only the treasure you want it to find.

As it turns out, you will be training Nifflers to find leprechaun gold. Hagrid will give some gold pieces to you, Merula, and Ben.

Merula will assume that he wants the gold back once the training is complete.

Hagrid will try to explain some things about leprechaun gold. Unfortunately, Merula will cut him off mid-sentence, and say that she has a very effective training approach for Lorelei.

Apparently, she wants to use a firm hand with her Niffler and teach the creature to be obedient.

Hagrid will tell her there is another approach, a gentle hand. According to him, it can be quite effective, especially with kind creatures like Nifflers.

He’ll go on and explain how the gentle hand approach works.

Merula will disagree with him. You will then get to choose how to train your Niffler.

This choice will affect some parts of the story, and you’ll be able to train your Niffler better if you pick a gentle hand approach, which is why it is recommended to select the first option.

Hagrid will be eager to see how you do. Not long after that, you will start training your Niffler. Go to the courtyard when you are ready to continue.

Penny will cheerfully greet you once you arrive. As it seems, Ben already told her about your Niffler training.

You will introduce your Niffler to her and say that you are going to train it to search for leprechaun gold.

Your Hufflepuff friend will offer to help in any way she can. She’ll tell you she recently received a shiny necklace that once belonged to her Gran.

She’ll want to hear your opinion about it. There are three options to choose from. If you like Penny, it is recommended to select the first or the second option.

You will learn that Penny is planning to keep the necklace in her dorm for the time being. After all, she doesn’t want to lose such a valuable item.

Your Niffler will seem to like Penny’s necklace.

This will give you an interesting idea. You’ll ask Penny if she would be okay with using her necklace to help train your Niffler.

You’ll tell her that you want to train your Niffler to search for leprechaun gold but leave other treasures alone. You will also tell her how you are planning to train your Niffler. The choice you made at the training grounds will take effect here.

Thankfully, Penny will be happy to help you. Moments later, you will start training your Niffler.

To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your Niffler and your character. Prioritizing these actions should save you some energy.

The following dialogue will differ, based on the approach you took. If you took the gentle approach, your Niffler will ignore Penny’s necklace and go towards leprechaun gold.

If you went with the firm approach, your Niffler will grab Penny’s necklace, and you’ll wonder if it was because of your training approach.

In any case, you will thank Penny for helping you train your Niffler. Moments later, you will decide to meet with Hagrid and proceed to the next phase of the training.

Go to Hagrid’s garden when you are ready to meet with him. Once you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

Hagrid will say that it is time for the next part of the training. You will learn that he prepared a fun challenge to help in your training, a treasure hunt. Ben will be quite excited about it.

Hagrid will say that he’s hidden leprechaun gold all over the castle, and whoever finds the most treasure will win the whole pot of leprechaun gold, as well as the title ‘Greatest Treasure Hunter at Hogwarts’.

Ben will be shocked to hear that the winner is going to get a whole pot of gold. Once again, Hagrid will try to explain some things about leprechaun gold, but Ben will cut him off.

He’ll want to know how you are feeling about the competition. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Ben will admit to you that he doesn’t want Merula to win. Shortly after, Hagrid will say that he hid some of the leprechaun gold in his garden. Searching for it is your next task.

To complete it, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass.

There is an action with bonus progress tied to your character. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.

Luckily, your Niffler will find the hidden gold.

Apparently, that was the only gold coin hidden in the garden. However, Hagrid will say that he hid leprechaun gold all over Hogwarts, so your next task is to look for it.

Go to the Potions Classroom when you are ready to continue the treasure hunt. Once you arrive, you will encounter Merula and Lorelei.

By the looks of it, she had the same idea as you. Needless to say, she won’t be too happy to see you. You will remind her that she is not in charge of the classroom.

Moments later, Professor Snape will approach you and say that he knows about your treasure hunt.

Interestingly enough, he already found the gold that was hidden in his classroom.

You’ll learn that Snape doesn’t really like Nifflers. There are three options for you to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

You will ask Snape if there is anything you and Merula can do to convince him to give you the gold.

After considering it for a moment, he’ll say that Madam Pomfrey needs some Wiggenweld Potions.

Snape will be willing to give you and Merula the gold he found if you brew some Wiggenweld Potions. You will immediately agree to it.

To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

There is a bonus progress action linked to your character. Prioritize it to save some energy.

Professor Snape will praise both Merula and you for successfully brewing Wiggenweld Potions.

He will then place a gold coin on the table. Apparently, there was only one leprechaun coin hidden in the classroom.

Since there is no way to split the coin, Merula will ask Snape to quiz you on Wiggenweld Potion, and the one who gives the correct answer will end up getting the coin.

Snape will agree to her proposition. He’ll turn to you and ask you a question about Wiggenweld Potion. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is ‘Draught of Living Death’.

If you correctly answered the question, you will get the coin. Otherwise, Merula will get it.

Shortly after, Part 1 of The Treasure Hunt adventure will conclude. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 20 Food, 2 Gems, and 1 Chocolate Frog.
