The Treasure Hunt Part 2
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Treasure Hunt Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, Hagrid told you that he wants to find out the best method to train Nifllers.
You, Ben, and Merula each got a Niffler, to train in your own way. Penny helped you in training your Niffler, but you found out that it still needs some discipline.
After that, you went to Hagrid’s Garden where Hagrid set a challenge for Nifflers, to find a hidden treasure. The first location to search for was his garden.
Lastly, you and Merula went to Potions Classroom to search for more gold, but Professor Snape had already found it. To persuade him to give it to you, you brewed Wiggenweld Potions.
Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to continue the story.
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 2 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

Once you are there, you will meet Ben.
He will ask if you came to look for leprechaun gold. You’ll remind him that he sent an owl to you saying there is a treasure in the courtyard.
Your Niffler will act excited because it will sense gold.
Ben will mention that he found a few pieces so far, but he’ll think that it wouldn’t be fair to have all for himself.
You will wonder why Ben wants to help his competition. He’ll explain that he wouldn’t mind if you win the competition, as long as Merula loses.
He’ll also say that he is not giving you the advantage. He’ll tell you he wants to set up a game.
He’ll want a treasure-hunting race between Sebastian and your Niffler. You will agree to participate in the race.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass (five stars for Year 4+).
There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and Ben’s Niffler Sebastian. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
Your Niffler will find a piece of treasure.
Ben will congratulate you. Shortly after, he’ll propose you an interesting deal. Apparently, he learned an interesting property of leprechaun gold. He will tell you that secret but only if you give him the coin you found.
This choice won’t have a significant impact on the overall story, but it will influence some dialogues later.
If you choose the first option, you will find out that the leprechaun gold is not real gold but just an illusion. After a period of time, it will disappear.
That’s an additional reason why Ben is not too bothered by competition, but his only concern is Merula. According to him, she should not win.
You will remind Ben that the competition part is just for fun and the most important thing is to train your Nifflers.
Shortly after, Ben will decide to continue searching Hogwarts for more treasure. You’ll decide to do the same.
Ben will ask you to go to the Training Ground to check what Merula did. Go there when you are ready to continue.
Once you are there, you will witness something rather unusual. Ben’s Niffler Sebastian will be much larger than usual.
Ben will ask for your help and he’ll accuse Merula that she blew up his Niffler. You will ask Merula why she used Engorgio on Niffler. She’ll just say it’s hilarious.
If you completed the adventure “Magical Creatures Everywhere”, you will get additional lines of dialogue.
She’ll say that giant Sebastian will keep you occupied while she and Lorelei will find the treasure. Ben will get very angry.
Merula will ask if you find the whole situation hilarious. If you like Merula, you can pick the first option. On the other hand, if you like Ben, you should pick the second option.
Merula will wish you luck in stopping Sebastian before he hurts someone and she’ll leave. Ben will say that he is going to deal with this situation.
You will quickly stop him because you’ll notice that Sebastian is very nervous.
You will point out that if you start casting spells while the Niffler is distressed, he will run away and cause significant damage to Hogwarts.
Ben will reconsider and agree with you. He’ll decide to calm down Sebastian first with a calming tone.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. It is recommended to start this task with a full energy bar.
There is only one action with a bonus progress and it is tied to your character. Prioritize this action to save a bit of energy.
You’ll ask your Niffler for help. It will distract Sebastian by showing him the leprechaun gold.
It will be the perfect opportunity to cast Reducio on Sebastian.
You’ll succeed in returning Sebastian back to the original size.
You will thank your Niffler and he’ll be very glad that he helped.
Ben will get very angry at Merula. She’ll try to calm him down, but he’ll decide to take revenge. He will cast Reducio on Lorelei.
Lorelei will run away. Merula will be worried about this because she tamed Lorelei to obey when she is around. The moment she turns her back, Lorelei starts stealing every shiny thing in sight.
She’ll suspect this has to do with her ‘firm hand’ training approach. One of your previous choices will be referenced here.
Ben and Merula will be angry at each other because of this new inconvenient situation. You will propose for everyone to calm down and once they do, they should meet you in the Great Hall to discuss the future plan to catch the tiny Niffler.
Next, go to the Great Hall when you are ready. If you are curious about what students in the Great Hall have to say, you can tap on the speech bubbles above their heads.
When you sit with Merula and Ben, you will ask them if are they ready to talk as adults. Sadly, they’ll immediately start blaming each other.
Merula will mention that Penny’s necklace was stolen. Ben will blame Merula for that.
They will continue throwing around the blame once again. You’ll calm them down and you will mention that their behavior is not solving the problem at hand.
Merula will want to hear your opinion. This choice will impact some dialogue later but not the overall story. If you like Merula, choose the first option. If you like Ben choose the second option. If you don’t want to pick a side, choose the third option.
You will decide that no matter who’s to blame, the priority is to come up with the solution on how to catch Lorelei and get everyone their stuff back.
You’ll decide to discuss the problem and think about the solution with your friends. For the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.
There is one bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize this action to save some energy.
You will decide to set a trap for Lorelei in the Clocktower Courtyard and everyone will pool their leprechaun gold and use it as bait. Merula will ask if you really need to use all of the gold. Maybe just a few coins can do the trick.
You’ll explain why it must be done this way.
The plan is to lie in wait until Lorelei appears and then spring the trap. When that happens, you will cast Engorgio to return Lorelei to her original size. But to achieve all of this, you’ll remind Ben and Merula that you need to be together in this.
You’ll ask if they agree. Luckily, they will. Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready.
Once you are there, you will see that all of the leprechaun gold that your friends were able to find has been collected.
Merula will wonder how your Niffler is so well-behaved. You will explain your strong bond with it.
Merula will hope the trap will work because it took so much effort to collect all of the leprechaun gold.
Ben will remind her that they are doing this because she chose the wrong training method. This will make Merula furious.
Ben will keep insisting that his method is better than hers and he will ask you to confirm. If you like Ben, it is recommended to choose the first option. If you pick the first option, the choice of your training method will be referenced here.
After setting up the bait, the time will come to lay low and wait for Lorelei.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass.
Bonus progress actions are tied to Ben and the bag of leprechaun gold. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
Shortly after, Lorelei will appear to steal one of the coins.
You will again ask your loyal Niffler to help you out. It will swiftly move in front of Lorelei to block her path.
Next, you will cast Engorgio on Merula’s Niffler.
Luckily, you will succeed.
Ben will be happy that all Nifflers are now the normal size, but he’ll be frustrated that there’s no way of knowing who would have been the winner of the treasure hunt.
Merula will claim that she would’ve been the winner, which will make Ben angry and they’ll start arguing yet again.
You will try to calm them down, but neither of them will be willing to apologize first. You will explain why it was wrong what they did. These lines will differ based on your previous choice in the Great Hall.
The following dialogues are if you chose to blame both of them in the Great Hall.
Finally, they’ll reconsider what they’ve done and they’ll apologize to each other.
After the apologies, you will ask your friend if are they feeling better, because there’s much to do. Ben will be surprised by that,
You will explain that you need to return back everything that Lorelei stole. After that, you will try to search the rest of Hogwarts for every remaining piece of leprechaun gold.
You will remind them that your Nifflers still need training so you will finish the treasure hunt together.
Go to Hagrid’s Garden when you are ready to continue the story.
Hagrid will be pleased to see that you and your friends found all leprechaun gold. You will explain to him that the treasure hunt got a little complicated so you and your friends joined to work together.
Hagrid will be glad to hear that because he was worried that the competition became too serious. He even heard strange stories about a giant Niffler and a tiny Niffler.
He will mention that there’s no way to pick a winner now because all of the gold is combined.
Because the main point of the treasure hunt was to train Nifflers, he’ll propose to pick a winner who trained their Niffler in the best way. Hagrid will start a discussion about what methods worked and what didn’t.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to complete this task.
Bonus progress actions are tied to Hagrid, Ben, and a pot full of leprechaun gold. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
Merula will explain that she tried the disciplinarian approach and she at first thought it works. But whenever she turned her back, Lorelei would revert to her old ways.
If you chose the “Firm Hand” approach as well, you will get an additional line of dialogue.
Hagrid will explain that’s because she didn’t change what a Niffler really wants.
You will say that things with Sebastian were different. You’ll tell Hagrid that Ben rewarded Sebastian each time he found a leprechaun gold but not when he grabbed other shiny things. Eventually, Sebastian wanted gold more than any other treasure.
If you chose the “Gentle Hand” approach, you will get an additional line of dialogue.
Hagrid will confirm that the “Gentle Hand” will change Niffler’s underlying behavior. He will admit that changing the creature’s behavior is a difficult task in any case so he will congratulate everyone.
Shortly after, he will mention that there is one Niffler that listened to the trainer’s commands when it really counted. It was your Niffler.
Without it, other Nifflers wouldn’t be back at their original sizes. Your Niffler will be very happy to hear such praise.
Merula’s question will differ based on your choice of training method.
Hagrid will explain that your success is based on your bond with your Niffler and that you spent the most time with it to connect.
He’ll mention that the trust between the creature and its trainer is the most important.
For this reason, he will declare you the Greatest Niffler Trainer at Hogwarts. He will ask if you accept the new title.
This choice won’t significantly change the story, but if you like Ben and Merula, it is recommended to pick the second option.
Merula will ask what is going to happen with the gold you collected. Hagrid will start explaining it, and in the meantime, the leprechaun gold will start disappearing.
Merula’s reaction will be hilarious.
Hagrid will mention that he meant to say it earlier but you and your friends rushed off before he could say anything. He will thank everyone because of your efforts he got an idea of how to train Nifflers.
He’ll think that if you had a little more time, your Nifflers would make fine treasure-finders for Gringotts or anyone else. Hagrid will offer to send your NIffler off to Gringotts. You will get an additional line of dialogue if you are in Year 6 or above.
Hagrid will ask you what you think about this offer. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, but it is recommended to accept this offer.
He will inform you that Sebastian and Lorelei will return to their loving home at the Ministry. You can visit them any time you like.
You will ask Hagrid if there will be more treasure hunts like this. Hagrid will just say that he hopes so.
This will mark the end of The Treasure Hunt Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 4 Gems, 2 Chocolate Frogs, and 200 Friendship Experience with Hagrid.
Don’t forget to claim a reward from the Achievements section.
Penny’s necklace will be added to your wardrobe.
Although your friends were competing with you, you were their voice of reason and you reunited them. Also, you and your friends learned so much about Niffler training. And most importantly… you saw so many Nifflers! What an awesome adventure!
