Welcome to the Slug Club Part 1

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 1 of our Walkthrough for Welcome to the Slug Club Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During this adventure, you will help a famous Quidditch player, Gwenog Jones, locate her old Potions professor, Horace Slughorn. While doing that, you may even end up getting invited into his elite social club.

Since the adventure is available for students of Year 4 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

When you start the adventure, Andre will ask you to meet him in the Great Hall, so go there when you are ready.

When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on them if you are curious to see what they have to say.

You’ll greet Andre and ask if there was something he wanted to tell you. He’ll be quite excited about the news he wants to share with you. Apparently, it has something to do with Quidditch.

The following line of dialogue will differ if your character is a Quidditch player.

Apparently, your friends already know about it, so Andre will decide to gather them and tell you the big news.

You need to earn five stars within one hour to complete this task. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Ben and Andre. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

You’ll learn that the Holyhead Harpies are coming to Hogwarts for a special exhibition. Their players will showcase their talents and flashy maneuvers. One of the players that will be at the exhibition is Gwenog Jones.

If you completed A Dragon’s Quest adventure, you’ll get an additional line of dialogue here.

Andre will say that during these spectacular exhibitions, Quidditch players have the opportunity to study new maneuvers. Also, fans can sometimes be lucky enough to talk to their favorite players.

He will wonder what part of the exhibition you are most excited about. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Andre will tell you that his parents sent him two VIP passes, so he’ll have the best seats available. He will ask you to join him. Needless to say, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by his offer.

He’ll smile and say that you’ve always been a good friend to him, which is the reason he wants to give you one of the VIP passes. This line will differ if your character is a Quidditch player.

You’ll wholeheartedly thank Andre for being so kind. Shortly after, the two of you will leave the Great Hall.

Go to the commentary box when you are ready to continue. When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.

Andre will apologize for being late. He’ll admit he had trouble picking up the perfect outfit. Your previous choice will affect some of the dialogue lines here.

Moments later, Gwenog Jones will arrive. Andre will look forward to seeing the maneuvers she is going to perform.

Moments later, the exhibition will begin. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

There are actions with bonus progress linked to your character and Gwenog Jones. Focus on those actions to save energy.

During the exhibition, Gwenog Jones will perform some spectacular Quidditch maneuvers.

Even Andre will have trouble figuring out all the maneuvers she performed. You’ll notice that the stadium is filled to the brim. However, you will also realize that one of the seats in the commentary box is empty.

You’ll wonder who reserved such a good seat just to skip the exhibition. Andre will suggest reading the attached note. After reading it, you’ll learn that the seat was reserved by Gwenog Jones for the Head of the Slug Club.

Andre will ask if you’ve heard of the Slug Club. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

In any case, you will learn that the Slug Club was an out-of-hours group of elite Hogwarts students created by former Potions professor Horace Slughorn. He often organized lavish dinner parties for the club members.

Andre will tell you that Slughorn hand-picked each Slug Club member, and nearly all of them became prominent witches or wizards. You’ll figure out that your friend wants to meet Slughorn and potentially become a member of the Slug Club.

Andre will remind you that you are one of the most impressive Hogwarts students. As for him, he is both a Quidditch player and a style wizard, so both of you have the potential to become members of the Slug Club.

However, you will first need to figure out where Slughorn is. Andre will assume he’s probably in the locker room, waiting for the team.

He’ll suggest going there as soon as possible. And if you are lucky, Gwenog might introduce you to Horace Slughorn. Go to the Quidditch Changing Room when you are ready to continue.

Once you get there, you’ll find Gwenog Jones near one of the lockers. The following line will differ, depending on whether or not you completed A Dragon’s Quest adventure.

If you met Gwenog before, she will happily greet you. If this is your first time meeting her, you’ll introduce yourself.

She will figure out that you and Andre were seated near Horace Slughorn. You’ll say that he wasn’t there. You’ll notice that Gwenog looks worried, so you will ask her if something is wrong.

She’ll tell you she doesn’t want to bother you with her worries. You’ll kindly say that she can tell you what’s troubling her. In the end, Gwenog will agree to tell you more.

Learning what’s bothering Gwenog is your next task. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete it. Three stars are required to pass.

There is action with bonus progress tied to Andre. Prioritize it to save energy.

You will learn that Slughorn never misses a match, which is why Gwenog is worried. She’ll want to hear your opinion. There are two options to choose from. If you like Gwenog, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Unfortunately, Gwenog won’t be able to check on Slughorn since she has another exhibition soon. Andre will immediately offer help. Luckily, Gwenog will agree to let you and Andre help her locate Slughorn.

She will tell you to meet her at the Quidditch Pitch, so go there when you are ready.

Andre will find it hard to believe that Gwenog Jones agreed to let you help her. If you completed A Dragon’s Quest adventure, you’ll say that you can finally use the opportunity to repay her for saving the Dragon Club.

Your friend will be excited about getting the chance to meet Horace Slughorn. As it seems, he wants to be invited into the Slug Club. There are two options to reply with. This choice will affect some of the dialogue lines, but it won’t significantly change the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Moments later, Gwenog will arrive. She will thank you and Andre for agreeing to help her. You’ll ask her to tell you where to find Slughorn.

Unfortunately, Gwenog won’t be sure where Slughorn is. You’ll ask if there is any other Slug Club member that could help you find him. Gwenog will tell you that the person who likely knows where to find Slughorn is none other than Lucius Malfoy.

If you completed Meet the Malfoys adventure, you will get some additional lines of dialogue here.

Gwenog will tell you that Lucius can be somewhat difficult to deal with. She’ll advise you to come up with a strategy of approach.

Before you talk to Lucius, you should probably talk to someone who knows him well. And that person is none other than the Potions Master Severus Snape.
