A Secret Message of Love Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for  A Secret Message of Love Part 2 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery.  In the previous part of your adventure, Professor Sprout received a mysterious gift — a graft from an enchanted Japanese maple, sent by an old friend from Japan. Along with the tree came a poem said to hold a hidden message about the true meaning of love. With the help of your friends, you discovered that the tree won’t grow with ordinary spells or care. Instead, it must be “fed with love.”

Your research led you to an old wizarding tale in which the tree responded only to true affection. Realising that love might need to be expressed through magical means, you brewed a powerful batch of Amortentia with Penny’s help, hoping it might unlock the tree’s secret.

Now, with the love potion ready, it’s time to return to the enchanted maple and see if magic born from love will help it bloom.

Go to the Herbology Classroom to feed the tree. When you arrive, you’ll find Merula and Charlie arguing. Apparently, Professor Sprout asked them to work together to watch over the Japanese maple, but Merula insists that she should be in charge.

She assigned them both the task of protecting the tree, but Merula is clearly not happy about having to share responsibility.

After a short exchange, Charlie will turn to you with a grin and ask who you think would make the best guardian for the enchanted tree—Merula, Charlie, or yourself.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, you’ll say that the tree doesn’t need a guardian, because you have a plan to help the enchanted Japanese maple grow. If it works, it might reveal the hidden message of love Professor Sprout told us about!

You’ll explain that the tree needs to be fed with love, and that you and Penny have prepared a special potion for it.

To find the tree, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the plant and Merula. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

However, the potion won’t cause the tree to grow, and it will even create a small problem. The scent of your potion will attract a swarm of Chizpurfles, and you’ll need to get rid of them quickly before they damage the tree.

Charlie will mention that his mum is at Hogwarts and has experience dealing with Chizpurfles, so he’ll offer to speak with her for help. You’ll decide to move the tree somewhere safe while Charlie talks to his mum.

Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready. When you arrive, Charlie will tell you that he spoke with his mum and that she’s eager to help. Soon after, Molly Weasley will approach you. (If you haven’t met her before, you’ll get a few lines of introductory dialogue.)

In any case, you’ll thank her for offering her assistance. Meanwhile, Barnaby is doing his best to keep the Chizpurfles away from the tree.

This line may differ slightly depending on your previous choices.

Molly will explain that thanks to the remnants of the Amortentia potion, the Chizpurfles now see your tree as a tasty treat. But the solution is simple—you just need to lure them away with something even more enticing.

She’ll show you a cauldron she brought along, one that’s soaked in the remnants of a powerful magical potion. The plan is to lure the Chizpurfles into the cauldron and then take them to Hagrid.

You’ll all agree it’s a good idea, and decide to use Lumos to draw their attention and distract them while you guide them toward the cauldron.

Trace the wand movement to cast Lumos.

Now that you’ve gotten rid of the Chizpurfles, you can return to thinking about how to help the enchanted tree grow. Molly will say she wants to help, as all of this has brought back fond memories she shared with her husband, Arthur.

It was many years ago. They had just finished planting their orchard and were settling down for a picnic when they were suddenly interrupted by hungry Chizpurfles. They spent the whole night dealing with them—it was so romantic.

Barnaby will chime in, saying that sounds like a great date, and then turn to you, asking what you think.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

As Molly continues to speak lovingly about Arthur, you’ll notice that the enchanted tree begins to grow slightly. Surprised and intrigued, you’ll point it out and ask Molly to keep talking about Arthur. As she does, the tree continues to grow, confirming your theory — it’s being nourished by genuine expressions of love.

Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

A crowd of your friends and Professor Sprout will gather around the enchanted tree. You’ll explain that the key to helping it grow lies in sharing words filled with love. Molly Weasley’s heartfelt words made the tree grow a little, but it’s still just a sapling. To transform it into a full-grown tree, it will need much more love.

You’ll suggest that everyone work together and come up with something truly meaningful—something powerful enough to feed the tree all the love it needs.

To brainstorm ideas, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Tonks and Merula. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

You’ll come to the conclusion that the best way to help the tree grow is by throwing a celebration where people can come together and share words of love. A gathering filled with warmth, affection, and connection might just provide the enchantment the tree needs to thrive.

You’ll suggest hosting the event at the Training Grounds—it’s easy for everyone to access, and the tree already responded well to being there. Professor Sprout will agree that it’s a wonderful idea and give you permission to use the space for your celebration.

At this special event, everyone will be encouraged to bring someone they care about—a date or a close friend—to share the experience.

Finally, you’ll be asked to choose a name for your celebration of love. Pick the one that resonates most with you—it won’t affect the story, but it will shape the tone of your magical gathering.

Professor Sprout will advise you to find a good spot in the Training Grounds to plant the Japanese maple—somewhere peaceful where it can grow undisturbed. 

You’ll agree with her suggestion, but you’ll also realize you’ll need help from your friends to get everything ready.

Just then, Tonks will approach with a cheeky smile and ask if you have anyone special in mind to bring as your date to the celebration.

There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Following that, you’ll decide to bring a friend to help you plant the Japanese maple. If you’ve already met Chiara, you’ll choose to bring her along. If not, you’ll ask Barnaby to join you instead. This choice won’t affect the story’s outcome—only some of the dialogue will be slightly different depending on who you bring.
