Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for Bargaining With Banshees, Part 2 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery! Previously, strange screams echoed through the night, leading you, Penny, and Andre to investigate by the lake. There, you found Ben unconscious, clutching his cassette player. After bringing him to the Hospital Wing, you learned he had heard a terrifying scream before blacking out. Soon after, Professor Sprout suffered a similar fate in the greenhouses, confirming that something sinister was haunting Hogwarts. When you later encountered Merula near Hagrid’s pumpkin patch, your suspicions were confirmed — a Banshee had appeared, its deadly scream shaking everyone to their core.

Now, with Hogwarts in danger and no clue why the Banshee has returned, it’s up to you to uncover the truth behind its haunting cries.

Proceed to the Library when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. You’ll tell your friends that the creature responsible for the terrifying screams is a Banshee. Your new mission is to learn everything you can about these dark beings — and discover how to protect both Hogwarts and your friends from their haunting power.

To study Banshees, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character,  Andre, and the pile of books next to him. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Banshees are malevolent spirits whose screams can be fatal if not blocked or muffled. Luckily, Ben and Professor Sprout were protected — Ben by his headphones, and Professor Sprout by her earmuffs — while Penny and Merula were shielded by the pumpkins. 

You also learned that a Banshee can be banished with a Laughing Potion. Following that, Andre will ask who defeated the dreaded Bandon Banshee. The correct answer is Gilderoy Lockhart.

Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll see that Penny has already gathered all the necessary ingredients for the potion. After a brief chat, you’ll quickly get started on brewing the Laughing Potion together.

To brew a laughing potion, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

There’s just one ingredient left to complete the potion — laughter, of course. You’ll need to decide which approach to take to make Penny, and you laugh and infuse the potion with the right kind of joyful energy.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Trace the wand movement to finish the potion.

A few moments later, the potion will be ready — its magic strong enough to shield you from the Banshee’s deadly scream. With that complete, your next task is to craft a set of magical earplugs to provide even greater protection.

Proceed to the Artefact Room when you are ready. Andre will tell you that he found a book containing a recipe for crafting magical earplugs capable of protecting anyone from a Banshee’s scream. To create them, you’ll need to use the Imperturbable Charm. You’ll receive slightly different dialogue depending on whether you’ve already learned the spell.

In any case, Andre will explain that the Imperturbable Charm can block sound, giving your earplugs an extra layer of magical protection. While you both work, he’ll mention that he came across an old story about a Banshee during his research — one he just can’t stop thinking about. Curious, you’ll ask him to tell you the story as you continue crafting the earplugs.

To craft magical earplugs, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Once you finish crafting the earplugs, you’ll return to Andre’s story. He’ll explain that it’s an old folk tale passed down for generations — about a beautiful maiden and a lonely Banshee who formed an unlikely friendship and made a bargain with one another. 

The maiden gave the Banshee her prized mirror, while the Banshee offered her a mysterious black comb — jet black but gleaming like volcanic glass, radiating an unworldly aura. It was the Banshee’s only possession, as they’re said to take great pride in combing their hair from time to time.

The bargain was meant to last for just one year, but tragically, the maiden died before she could meet the Banshee again and fulfill her promise.

Following the tale, Andre will ask what you think about the story. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Penny will be determined to try to banish the Banshee on her own, but you’ll agree to help her. Before taking action, however, you decide it’s best to find Merula first.

Proceed to Hagrid’s Garden when you are ready. When you arrive, you tell Merula that you and Penny need her help to banish the Banshee, because she is the only one who can predict its movements. 

Naturally, Merula hesitates at first, unsure if she wants to help, but you explain that there’s no time to waste and that the situation is extremely serious. She will understand and agree, adding that according to her study of its patterns, the Banshee circles Hogwarts every night and should pass by soon.

Shortly after, Penny will appear, and now it’s time to begin your plan. You’ll suggest putting on the magical earplugs you crafted and drinking the potion.

To banish the banshee, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Penny will then ask if you can stop worrying about the banshee coming after Hogwarts. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

However, your relief will be short-lived as a large number of banshees appear, surrounding you. You’ll decide to return immediately to the castle to figure out your next move.

This will mark the end of Part 2 of Bargaining With Banshees Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.

Part 2 draws to a close with a mixture of relief and lingering unease. Together with Penny and Merula, you successfully banish the banshee, your clever potion and enchanted earplugs proving their worth. For a moment, Hogwarts breathes easier, safe once more from the piercing screams. Yet, as more banshees appear on the horizon, it becomes clear that this is only the beginning of a darker, more mysterious challenge—a shadowed path that will test your courage, cunning, and magical skill in the adventures still to come.
