Chapter 10 – Forge Ahead
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Ten of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you accompanied Ruby to meet her informant, only to be unexpectedly ambushed by a graphorn that injured Ruby. Fortunately, she managed to escape with minor injuries.
While visiting Ruby at St. Mungo’s, you had an unexpected encounter with your old friend Chiara. After reconnecting with Chiara, you suggested that she join a reunion of your Hogwarts friends, and she eagerly agreed. It was then your turn to reconnect with your old schoolmates at the Hog’s Head Inn. You were surprised when you discovered that Merula was working there. During your chat with friends, you found out about their current jobs and life paths. Here we are in another exciting chapter, ready for new discoveries and adventures!

Proceed to the Break Room in the ROCC Division when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive you’ll approach your boss.


He’ll remind you that an agent got hurt while on duty, and you’re the only one who saw what happened.

You will explain to him that this is the reason you are here. Additionally, you’ll mention that Ruby had an informant you haven’t met, and you’ll express the intention to follow up on that lead when she recovers. However, he will respond, saying he didn’t get the memo about you being in charge of the ROCC.

He’ll suggest that before you do anything further, you should debrief him about the incident in the Forbidden Forest. To debrief Flump, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

After you’re done, Flump will say that your story matches what Ruby told him. You’ll be confused about how he knows Ruby’s version since she’s supposed to be resting at St. Mungo’s. Suddenly, Ruby will come up to you, and you’ll ask her why she’s here, reminding her she should be resting. Flump will mention that he tried telling her the same thing, but she didn’t listen. She’ll assure you not to worry, saying she’s fine.
There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

She’ll explain that she couldn’t sit around feeling sorry for herself and had to return to work. Flump will then add, asking if everyone has forgotten that there’s a boss here who makes the rules.

You’ll agree with your boss, and Ruby will say she won’t keep working on that case. She’ll mention there’s probably an easier task for her. Shortly after, she’ll check the bulletin board for assignments, and one will catch her eye.

You’ll mention that ROCC agents frequently volunteer for undercover security at wizarding events.

She’ll add that, besides, there will be plenty of other ROCC agents there, and she’ll fit right in. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Flump will add that even if he advises her, she probably won’t listen, but he’ll still let her go because charity auctions are among the least exciting events in the wizarding world. Ruby will be very excited about it, she’ll thank you and then leave.

You’ll inform him that you have your own theory involving a cursed quill. Flump will comment that your theory sounds boring but anticipates that you’ll share it with him anyway. He’ll mention that he can’t entertain theories on an empty stomach and proposes meeting later in your workspace to decide if your theory is worth pursuing.
Sadly, you will need to wait four hours until you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge.

Head to the Workspace once the waiting time is over. Upon your arrival, you’ll ask if he’s ready to hear your theory about the cursed quill.

This line will differ based on your choice in Chapter 8.

Following that, you will present your theory about the cursed quill. To do that, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Flump and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

After you finish, you’ll tell him that your friend Corey told you about a cursed quill that remembers what it writes, and you’ll say that it sounds eerily similar to the cursed object you’re seeking.

Flump will say that the story hasn’t been proven, and then he’ll think for a moment. You’ll ask if he’s bored or thinking about something, and he’ll reply that since you’re an investigator, hhe wants to know your thoughts about what he’s doing. You can reply in two ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

A little later, he’ll inform you that he was near the Ministry’s Department of Magical Gamers and Sports office.

He’ll tell you that he thought about whether it was a coincidence or if there’s a connection. You can reply in three ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

After that, he’ll instruct you to start investigating the Parkin Quidditch forgery with your quill theory in mind. He will suggest that this could provide the evidence needed to continue the cursed quill theory. These lines will differ based on whether you played Quidditch at Hogwarts with Skye.


After that, you will decide to meet with Skye. Unfortunately, you will need to wait three hours until you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge.

Head to the Quidditch Stands once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. You’ll approach Skye and greet her. These lines will differ based on whether you played Quidditch at Hogwarts with Skye.



Then she’ll ask you how you feel about visiting Hogwarts. If you like Hogwarts, the recommended option you should choose is the first one.

After that, she’ll share the news she heard with you.

This line will differ based on which house you were in at Hogwarts.

Following that, she’ll ask about your life after Hogwarts and share that hers is similar to her time at Hogwarts, except without classes, allowing her to play Quidditch all day. She’ll mention being busy as a chaser for the Wigtown Wanderers and she’ll be happy at having some time away.

Seizing the opportunity, you’ll start a story about rumors of forged Ethan Parkin memorabilia, prompting her to ask where you heard about it. You can reply in two ways. The recommended option you should choose is the second one.

Following that, you’ll mention that upon hearing the name Ethan Parkin, you felt you could be of some assistance. These lines will differ based on whether you and Skyle were teammates or just classmates.


She’ll say that you’re quite famous for helping your fellow Hogwarts students, and she will mention that she heard you stopped the ‘R’s from breaking into the school. Then she will decide to tell you more about her dad’s forged memorabilia.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

After your conversation, you will discover that the ink on the forgeries was dark pink, and Skye will mention that this is the only notable clue they could find about the forgeries. You’ll ask her if her dad had any reason to use someone else’s quill recently, but your question will have to wait. The famous young wizard Harry Potter will catch Skye’s attention and that of all the viewers, attempting to catch the Golden Snitch.

Judging by appearances, it seems that young Harry Potter has lost control of his broom.


This line will differ based on whether you have played Quidditch before.


Despite everything, the famous Potter managed to climb on the broom and continue further.

Before you attempt to proceed with the story about the quill, you’ll notice Olivia and ask her if she’s here to see the famous and legendary Harry Potter.

At that moment, Skyle will urge you to pay attention to Harry trying to catch the Golden Snitch.

Regrettably, Potter will stumble over his broom while attempting to reach the Golden Snitch, resulting in a fall.

He’ll rise, and you’ll observe that he still managed to catch the Golden Snitch, although he swallowed it.


The audience will be overjoyed and thrilled, and Skye will mention that she can’t believe he caught the Snitch in his mouth. You can reply in three ways. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

This line will differ based on which house you were in at Hogwarts.

After asking Olivia for her thoughts and learning she wasn’t paying attention, you’ll notice something is wrong. Olivia will then urgently inform you to go back to work immediately because something has happened.

The next thing you need to do is solve the mandatory task to unlock the next story task. Go to the Flat when you are ready to start the mandatory chapter task. When you get there, you’ll meet Penny, who’s having problems with her roommate. The roommate couldn’t find her Gillywater and accused Penny of drinking it. You’ll propose to her that you both try to find the best solution together.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to the Flat.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the ROCC Division section of the Wizarding Life tab.

After that, you can continue with the story. Proceed to the ROCC Division when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.
You’ll ask Olivia about the gathering and why everyone is there. She’ll respond that, based on her experience, you should brace yourself for bad news. After a while, Flump will begin explaining the reason for everyone being present.

He’ll want to directly address all of you with the facts before it becomes public. To learn about the accident, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Flump. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

After the briefing, you’ll discover that a Fiendfyre erupted at the art gallery charity auction where Ruby was. Flump will add that, despite Ruby getting injured in a previous magical creature incident, she successfully saved over a dozen lives.

You’ll want to know where Ruby is now, but he’ll ask you not to interrupt and to let him finish first. You can reply in two ways. The recommended option you should choose is the first one.

If you choose the first option, you will get additional lines of dialogue.


Regrettably, you will receive very distressing news about your dear friend and colleague.

Now that you have completed the story and mandatory task, you can start the optional chapter tasks. You need to complete two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete two tasks, the third one that is left will disappear.
Choose the optional tasks you like which are Eavesdrop on Patrons in Leaky Cauldron, Magical Maintenance Cover in DMLE, and Buy the book in the Floursh and Blotts. Don’t forget to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Complete mini-tasks to earn attribute points.

This will conclude Chapter 10 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 1. You will receive 400 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
