Budding Talent Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for the Budding Talent Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, you helped Penny safely escape a Venomous Tentacula, met the renowned Herbologist Leah Lee, and earned the trust of Professor Sprout.

You were appointed as Leah’s teaching assistant, and together you prepared to bring her magical plants safely into the Hogwarts greenhouse. Now, with your role established and the first tasks completed, it’s time to continue your adventure, dive deeper into Herbology, and assist Leah with her fascinating collection of magical plants.

You’ll need to wait one hour before you can continue. 

Head to Training Grounds once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, Penny and Leah will finally meet. You will explain that Penny was very much looking forward to Leah’s arrival and thought it would be wonderful for her to help as well.

Penny will notice that Leah has brought quite a few plants — Mimbulus Mimbletonia, Snargaluffs, Bursting Mushrooms, and thankfully, no Venomous Tentaculas. You will explain that Penny recently had a less-than-friendly encounter with one of those.

You will also mention that Professor Sprout said Leah would be bringing a few extra specimens she hadn’t listed — but you didn’t expect there to be quite this many. Leah will then smile and ask if any of the plants have caught your eye.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Your next task will be to transport the plants to the Herbology greenhouse. However, you’ll have to carry them by hand, as using the Levitation Charm would be a bit too risky.

To unload the plants, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character and the plants. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Now that you’ve placed all the plants safely in the greenhouse, you will decide to head together to the Herbology classroom to start preparing for the upcoming lessons.

Go to the Herbology Classroom to continue the story. When you arrive, Leah will admit that she feels a bit nervous. You will reassure her that there’s no need to worry — everyone is excited to meet her. Together, you will realize that the best course of action is to go over Professor Sprout’s class curriculum to prepare for the upcoming lessons. That way, you’ll know exactly which subjects haven’t been covered yet.

To analyse the curriculum, you need to earn five stars within one hour. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character and Leah. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

You will notice that one clear gap in the class’s knowledge is how to brew magical fertiliser, which is an essential lesson. Fertiliser is the single most important element of successful cultivation, as plants grown in pots can never truly get all their nutrients from the limited amount of soil they rely on.

Fortunately, fertilisers happen to be one of Leah’s areas of expertise. She will then ask if you know any ingredients that go into making fertiliser. The correct answer is ”Dragon dung”.

After a brief conversation, Leah will say that you can create your own fertiliser — just like she did years ago. She will offer to teach you how to brew her very own recipe for magical fertiliser, which has worked wonders for her plants.

You will be thrilled about the idea and eager to get started, but before you can begin, you’ll need to gather four key ingredients: dragon dung, animal bones, powdered root of asphodel, and dried kelp. Without wasting any time, you’ll set off with your friends to search for the ingredients.

Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. You will thank your friends for coming and explain that you need their help to find the ingredients for Professor Lee’s next lesson. Penny will suggest that you all brainstorm some ideas on how to track down everything you need.

The plan will be to first visit Hagrid and ask him for some dragon dung. You’ll also have a few solid ideas about how to gather the remaining ingredients, so you’ll decide to take it from there.

Ben will comment that he never realised fertiliser required so many ingredients, admitting that he’s glad he isn’t Leah’s assistant — it sounds like far too much work. Penny, however, won’t agree. She’ll say that it’s an incredible opportunity to learn and will ask if you feel the same way.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You will then decide to head over to Hagrid and ask him for some dragon dung. 

Go to the Hagird’s Hut to continue the story. When you arrive, you will notice how vibrant the pumpkin patch looks and comment to Hagrid that it seems better than ever. He will chuckle and mention that there’s still plenty of work left to do. Ben will chime in, amazed that Hagrid’s pumpkins grow so large, and Hagrid will laugh, saying it’s his secret, and that besides taking care of magical creatures, he knows a thing or two about plants as well.

You will take the opportunity to explain why you’re there, mentioning that you’ve been assigned as Professor Lee’s teaching assistant for Herbology. Hagrid will smile and admit that he didn’t realise you were so passionate about plants.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You will explain to Hagrid that you’re there because Leah is teaching you how to brew a fertiliser she invented, and that one of the ingredients is dragon dung. You’ll ask if he might have some to spare.

Hagrid will tell you that he actually uses dragon dung to fertilise his pumpkins and will suggest that you help him with the task. He’ll also mention that any extra dragon dung can be taken for your lesson.

To fertilise the pumpkins, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. 

Bonus progress actions are tied to Sal and Hagrid. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Once you finish the task, Hagrid will give you the remaining dragon dung, and you will thank him for his help. This will be the first ingredient you’ve collected from the list.

The next ingredient is dried kelp. Hagrid will offer to help with that as well, explaining that there’s plenty of dried kelp near the seashore at the Magical Creatures Reserve

This will mark the end of Part 2 of Creature from the Budding Talent Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.

By the end of Part 2, you will have met Leah Lee and helped her settle her magical plants in the greenhouse. You will have learned about her unique fertiliser recipe and gathered the first two key ingredients with the help of your friends and Hagrid. With dragon dung and dried kelp safely collected, you are now ready to continue your adventure and gather the remaining ingredients needed to brew the magical fertiliser.
