Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twelve of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you discussed Ruby’s death with Olivia, where you agreed that Ruby left a strong impression during her short time at the ROCC. Following that, you talked to Callum, who provided advice on how to stay calm in difficult situations. The conclusion was that dealing with tragedy is different for everyone, and each person copes with grief in their own way.
You also discovered that Callum was assigned to investigate the incident in which Ruby lost her life, and you expressed a desire to assist him with the case. However, Flump approached you and mentioned that you couldn’t work on the case due to your close relationship with Ruby, emphasizing the need for someone with a calm and rational approach.
After meeting Chiara and your brother, you learned more about Ruby’s short but heroic life and headed to your apartment, where a pleasant surprise awaited you. Liz wanted to lift your spirits and divert your thoughts from Ruby’s death. Despite this, you decided not to give up on investigating Ruby’s death and wanted to check for any updates on the case.

Proceed to the Workspace at the ROCC when you are ready to meet with Flump. When you get there, you’ll see Flump looking really mad. He’ll mention that he doesn’t like having many rules, and most of them bother him.
He will tell you and give you a warning that he has told you to keep away from the investigation into Ruby’s death. This line will differ based on your previous choice in Chapter 11.
He’ll mention that you were spotted snooping around St. Mungo and ask you to explain it. There are two options to choose from. It is recommended to pick the first option, and if you choose the second option, you will get one additional choice.
Afterward, you will inquire about how he learned that you were at St. Mungo, and he will respond that it’s his job to be aware of such things. You will get additional lines of dialogue if you selected the second option in the previous choice.
He’ll reassure you by adding that you can relax because he has assigned the best agents to handle the case. You will get additional dialog lines if you selected the second option in the previous choice. He will admit that losing a partner is a tough experience and propose that you honor Ruby by resolving a cursed quill case that both of you had begun working on.
He’ll then recommend that you share more details about what you discovered regarding the Quidditch connection. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.
The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.
Upon completing your explanation, Flump will gather from you that the Quidditch forgeries were dark pink, matching the checks at Gringotts. Additionally, your cursed quill theory suggests the existence of a quill capable of recording what people write. You will mention that your friend Corey, who works at her parents’ antique shop, informed you about the blackmail quill.
This line will differ based on your previous choice in Chapter 8.
After that, Flump will mention that he’s not entirely convinced the cases are linked, but the idea of a cursed quill troubles him. He’ll emphasize that if such a quill is out there, it can cause more harm over time. You’ll suggest reaching out to Skye to set up a meeting with her father, Ethan, for more details. Following this, Flump will tell you to instantly go ahead with this plan.
You’ll get what Flump meant, and you’re ready to continue investigating the cursed quill and meet with Ethan and Skye. Unfortunately, you will have to wait around three hours before that. Since you are likely low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until the timer runs out and let your energy replenish in the meantime.
Go to the Hogsmeade to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you will greet Ethan and Skye. This line will differ based on whether you have met Ethan or not.
Skye will inform Ethan that you both recently attended Harry Potter’s legendary Quidditch match. Ethan will mention that he’s heard a lot about that young Seeker and ask if you can remind him if Harry caught the Snitch in his mouth. This line will differ based on your previous choice in Chapter 10.
Ethan will comment that it was quite a memorable debut, and Skye mentioned to him that Harry Potter had some trouble with his broom. You’ll confirm that indeed he did, thinking initially that his broom was malfunctioning. You’ll add that you only learned a bit later that his broom was cursed.
He’ll remark that he’s certain you didn’t meet just to discuss Potter’s first match. You’ll clarify that it’s not the reason for your meeting but that you’ve heard about his signature being forged on memorabilia. He’ll then inquire about how you came to know about it. This line will differ based on your previous choice in Chapter 10.
This line will differ based on whether you and Skye were in the same house at Hogwarts or not.
He’ll respond that he is already working with the appropriate authorities, but there has been a lack of updates from them. Skye will intervene, stating that you are not just an amateur tracker and might notice things that the authorities missed. Ethan will agree to share all the information he has on the matter. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.
Bonus progress actions are tied to Skye, Ethan, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.
After that, you’ll mention that it seems like he’s involved in forgery, and then you’ll ask about the social club. He’ll respond that it’s secretive and exclusive, something he can’t talk about. Skye will try to convince him, saying it’s just a club for rich people. He’ll disagree, stating that it’s a safe space for highly talented witches and wizards.
There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.
In any case, Ethan will insist that you’re not paying attention to Skye and claim that she’s just jealous because her friend got accepted while she didn’t. He will then assert that he has shared all the information he knows, and it’s time to greet his fans. Skye will question how he’s so certain they’re his fans and not hers.
You’ll thank him for his time before he leaves, assuring him that you’ll keep him informed if you uncover any additional information.
You’ll inquire with Skye if you might have said something wrong, and she will reassure you not to worry about him. She’ll explain that he has been acting this way since the forgeries began and emphasize that he doesn’t like anything affecting his reputation. This line will differ based on your previous choice.
This line will differ based on whether you were in the same house in Hogwarts as Skye and Orion.
This line will differ based on whether you met Orion at Quidditch.
Then you will go to meet him. The location where you will meet will differ based on whether you have unlocked the Maestro Music Shop, which is unlocked upon completing the Pumpkin Johnny Rises adventure. In case you haven’t, you will meet Orion at the Hogsmeade Train Station.
(In this walkthrough, the place where we will meet Orion will be the Maestro Music Shop, so keep in mind that you will have slightly different dialogues depending on the location.)
Proceed to the Maestro Music Shop when you are ready to meet with Orion. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you will see Orion and try to greet him, but he will be busy meditating.
You’ll ask about what he does at Maestro’s, and he’ll respond that he’s there to attain harmony.
After a short conversation with him, you will ask him what he does after Hogwarts.
He’ll mention that he is also a coach. When you ask if he is a Quidditch coach, he’ll respond with a no, explaining that he is a life coach. He’ll add that he assists people in finding answers to their challenging questions. You’ll then mention to him that Skye suggested that he could help you with a social club for elite witches and wizards.
He’ll respond by expressing surprise that you’re concerned about your status. You’ll convince him it’s not about you but that you’re working on a project and have your own Former Student Center for socializing.
You’ll tell him that you don’t think it can help you, and you will ask him if he can at least tell you where the club is located. He’ll say that it is a difficult question to answer, which will prompt you to ask him if he doesn’t do that for a living. He will tell you that it is not the right question you should be asking.
He will then mention that it’s a question suited to his talents and propose guiding you toward your ultimate goal. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
Bonus progress actions are tied to the owl, Orion, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.
After concluding the conversation, you’ll come to the realization that to achieve your ultimate goal, you need to be part of the club, and it’s crucial for you to become a member.
You’ll come up with the idea that having a letter of recommendation from a current club member would boost your chances of joining. After a brief reflection and discussion, you’ll decide that the best plan is to play chess with the club owner and emerge victorious.
You will thank Orion for his help, and he will offer to give you advice for family, friends, or work. There are three options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.
After that, he’ll wish you happiness and assure you that he’s here for you, knowing where to find him. You’ll thank him and mention that you’ll begin practicing your wizarding chess.
Go to the Leaky Cauldron to meet with Murphy. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll notice Murphy sitting at the table, and you’ll join him.
He’ll mention that he’s struggling to find a worthy opponent for chess. He’ll add that he’s tried teaching Barnaby many times, but he hasn’t grasped it yet. Orion refuses to use the proper names for the chess pieces, and Tulip brings Dennis the toad, who stares at him the entire time. After explaining this, he’ll express curiosity about your sudden interest in an impromptu match. There are three options to choose from. If you like Murphy, it is recommended to pick the second option.
He’ll caution you that he’s been playing a lot of wizard’s chess lately and won’t go easy on you, and he’ll suggest starting the match. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
Bonus progress actions are tied to the woman on your left, Murphy, and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.
Shortly after, you will find yourself in a position that can decide the match.
Afterward, Murphy will mention that if you recall the right move, you could secure a victory in the match. There are two options to choose from. The correct answer is “move the rook.”.
You’ll thank Murphy for the game, and he’ll say that he was satisfied, whether he won or lost. He will also praise your skills and say that they are improving and that you can probably take on anyone.
You’ll be reminded of an upcoming gathering with your Hogwarts friends, and you’ll ask Murphy if he plans to attend.
Unfortunately, you will have to wait around four hours before that. Since you are likely low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until the timer runs out and let your energy replenish in the meantime.
Proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn when you are ready to meet with your friends. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Upon arriving, you’ll be delighted to see many of your friends gathered there.
Penny will comment that you have almost taken over the entire Hog’s Head Inn. This line will differ based on whether Penny knows Skye and Orion.
Then you’ll introduce Orion and Skye to all your friends.
To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
In the first phase, bonus progress actions are tied to Talbott and your character.
In the second phase, bonus progress actions are tied to Orion and your character.
In the third phase, bonus progress actions are tied to Merula and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.
After finishing your conversation, you’ll approach Skye and thank her for informing you about talking to Orion and his assistance. Skye will then ask if Orion has been able to help you with the social club, prompting Andre to ask what the discussion is about regarding a social club. There are two options to choose from. If you like Andre, it is recommended to pick the second option.
After that, Andre will mention that it sounds similar to the club Rath got an invitation to join. This line will differ based on whether you have met Rath.
Andre will add that Rath tried to hide it from him, but she didn’t succeed. These lines will differ based on your previous choice in task 2.
You’ll mention that you need a letter of recommendation from a current member and express a feeling that you may not receive that letter from her father.
This line will differ based on whether you have met Rath.
Now that you have completed the story, you can start the mandatory and optional chapter tasks. You need to complete one mandatory chapter task and two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete three tasks, the fourth one that is left will disappear.
Go to the Flat to start the mandatory chapter task. You’ll meet up with Liz, who requires your assistance in finding an apartment for her to live in.
You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.
While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.
Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.
Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.
Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to the Flat.
After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the ROCC Division section of the Wizarding Life tab.
Choose the optional tasks you like. You can do Advanced Potions in the Research Lab which will give you Spinx Club Experience Points and some Healer Experience Points. Wandkeeping at the Olivanders where you can gain also Spinx Club Experience Points, or Take a Break in the Break Room where you can earn additional Hippogriff Club Experience Points.
Don’t forget to select the duration that matches their star requirements.
Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.
Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.
