Chapter 14 – High Society

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Fourten of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you met with Rath to have her help you write a letter of recommendation that will make it easier for you to get into the social club. She agreed, but in return asked you to deliver her fabulous quidditch line-up to the commissioner, who, to your surprise, turned out to be your boss, Flump. Despite his initial embarrassment at being exposed as a fantasy Quidditch player, he has asked you to keep his secret and has agreed to support your quest for membership in the social club.

Later, you and your brother Jacob visited Jae at his new and exclusive workplace, Fitzy Flurpuff’s Enchanted Cake. Impressed by the enchanting atmosphere and the overwhelming aroma of sweets, you sought Jae’s help in finding a potion book to break Verucca’s conjunctivitis curse. After a short discussion, you discovered that the best option that could help you is the Most Potent Potion book. Jae offered to use his sources to locate the book, and you appreciated his help. After some thought, you returned to Rath for the promised letter of recommendation.

Rath has fulfilled her promise and informed you that you will receive an invitation in the form of a riddle, revealing the location of the club. Excited, you returned to your apartment, where your friends Tulip and Talbot eagerly joined forces to figure out and solve the riddle. After cracking the code, you concluded that the location was none other than Madam Puddifoot’s tea shop and immediately set off on your next adventure.

Proceed to Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll be surprised because there’s no one around, and you’ll wonder if you’ve correctly solved the riddle.

You’ll spot a wizard chess set on the table, assuring you that you are indeed in the right place.

Shortly after that, Celestina Warbeck will join you, congratulating you on successfully solving the riddle.

These lines will differ based on whether you have met Celestina Warbeck, if you haven’t, you will get additional lines of dialogue and an additional choice.

She’ll remark that quite some time has passed and add that you’ve changed. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

Afterward, you’ll comment that it’s strange that it’s just the two of you there, and Celestina will assure you that it’s not a club but just the next step in joining a social club. She will mention that she is convinced that you know that the club is supposed to gather members of high society.

Celestina will then add that she received a letter of recommendation from Erika Rath and express her admiration for your accomplishments. This line will differ based on whether you completed Celestina’s New Groove adventure.

She’ll say that one thing, in particular, has left a lasting impression on her. This line will differ based on your previous choice. 

You’ll thank her and mention that you are supposed to defeat the club president in wizard’s chess.  She’ll agree, and you’ll realize she’s actually the club president. She’ll add that she is, at least for this week, that will surprise you. However, she’ll assure you that she’ll explain over time and suggest starting a game of wizard chess to prove whether you’re worthy of joining the social club.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Celestina and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

After finishing, you’ll successfully defeat Celestina and show her that you are worthy of joining the club.

Shortly after, Celestina will inform you that, as the current president of the club, she would like to officially invite you to join their social club, a proposition you’ll gladly accept. Curious about her role, you’ll inquire about what she means by being the current president, and she’ll clarify that the club’s presidents rotate constantly.

She’ll add that each president has control over approving candidates, setting club rules, and choosing where they gather. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, she’ll inform you that the next gathering will take place at the home of one of the members in Godric’s Hollow, specifically at Bathilda Bagshot’s house. She’ll then ask if you are familiar with Bathilda. There are two different options to choose from. The correct answer is” She’s an author”.

After that, Celestina will inform you that she’ll send you formal directions to Madam Bagshot’s home. This line will differ based on whether you have met Madam Bagshot.

Following that, Celestina will inform you that you’ll receive an owl when it’s time to meet. After that, you’ll decide to return to work.

Go to the ROCC Division to continue the story. When you arrive, you’ll see that Callum is busy talking with your coworker, and you’ll ask him what’s going on.

You’ll assume it’s related to the investigation of Ruby’s death and the art gallery. But he won’t reveal much and will change the topic to ask how things are going with your case.

You’ll tell him that forged cheques from Gringotts led you to a connection with forged Quidditch memorabilia. You’ll then cut to the chase, saying that you’ve successfully joined an elite social club that could uncover new insights and provide fresh leads in your case.

Callum will say he hasn’t heard about that club and ask how you managed to join. You’ll tell him that you had to get a letter of recommendation, solve a riddle, and beat Celestina in a game of wizard’s chess. You’ll then share that now that you’ve opened up about your case, he might consider dropping a hint on how his investigation is going.

Following that, he’ll say that he really wants to help but doesn’t want to get you into trouble. There are two options to choose from. If you like Callum, it is recommended to pick the first option.

In any case, he’ll decide to share a bit of information about the investigation into the death of Ruby.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass

Bonus progress actions are tied to Callum and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

When you finish, you’ll find out that the Fiendfyre wasn’t set to cover up a robbery, and Callum has also discovered something in the rubble. You’ll ask him what he found, but at that moment, Flump will appear.

After a small conversation, Flump will say that the Magical Maintenance Department got a letter addressed to you.

After reading the letter, you’ll immediately head to your first gathering with the social club.

You will need to wait four hours until you can continue the club gathering. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to Bathilda Bagshot’s House once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Upon your arrival, Rath will congratulate you for successfully defeating Celestina in wizard’s chess.

You’ll thank her for the congratulations and for helping you join the club. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

She’ll then advise you not to go around advertising it because people there came to relax, not to be interrogated. You’ll heed her advice and proceed to chat with other club members to see if you can uncover any information that might help your case.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

In the first phase, the bonus progress actions are tied to Madam Bagshot.

In the second phase, the bonus progress actions are tied to Madam Umbridge and Lucius.

In the third phase, the bonus progress actions are tied to Glideroy Lockhart.

In the fourth phase, there are no bonus progress actions. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

After finishing, Rath will express hope that you’ve uncovered something useful. You’ll tell her that, unfortunately, you haven’t discovered anything new about the Quidditch forgeries. However, you’ll mention that you found out several people purchased art at the same charity auction that was set on fire, and you heard something about someone named Felix Grooves. Rath will say that the name sounds familiar, and after a brief pause, you’ll get the thought that these cases might be connected.

After that, Celestina will approach you and express her pleasure that you came to your first gathering. She will apologize for not being able to come earlier, explaining that she was busy at the bank. It will be very strange to you, and she will change the subject and then ask you if you are enjoying your first meeting.

There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Shortly after, she’ll mention that she noticed you didn’t sign in the guest ledger, adding that everyone in attendance is signed.

While signing, you’ll notice one signature that stands out – Felix Grooves.

Celestina will caution you not to peek through the ledger, emphasizing their respect for each other’s privacy. You’ll apologize, but mention that the signature caught your eye. She’ll comment that Felix’s signature does tend to make quite the impression, noting that he hasn’t been around for a while. Then she’ll wish you to enjoy the rest of your evening as a new member. Shortly after, you’ll decide to get back to your boss to tell him what you’ve learned.

Go to the Workspace to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll thank Flump for meeting you and inform him that you have some new information about the case.

Then you’ll start explaining the new information regarding the case to him. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.   

After you finish, you’ll remind Flump that the forged Quidditch memorabilia was signed in dark pink ink, just like the cheques. You’ll also mention that your investigation at the social club has yielded results. You’ll tell him that you spoke with a few members, and they all seem to have been affected by the cursed quill in some way.

Additionally, you’ll add that all of them have a connection to the charity auction fire. Flump will express surprise and say he didn’t expect that, adding that he supposes the rich and famous do have the money to spend on that kind of thing.

You’ll express your belief that these two cases are connected and ask Flump if he would allow you to work on the art gallery fire case. He’ll glance at you for a moment, seemingly agreeing, but your hopes will be dashed as he’ll ultimately say no.

He’ll say he appreciates all you’ve done and mention that he’ll share the new information with Callum. However, he’ll tell you to continue avoiding the art gallery fire case. He’ll suggest that you can honor Ruby and help the case by working on that angle. There are two options to choose from. If you like Flump, it is recommended to pick the first option.

After that, he’ll state that those forgeries have to be stopped and that it’s your job as an agent of the Cursed Objects Division to find that quill. You’ll reassure him that you’ll solve the case.

He’ll then suggest that you start investigating new leads immediately, and if you learn anything about the art gallery fire, come straight to him. Afterward, he’ll leave. When he’s gone, you’ll remain determined to continue investigating the other case, not following his advice.

In the meantime, you will receive an owl from Liz, who will call you to meet her, but you will need to wait three hours until you can continue the club gathering. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Honeydukes once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. When you arrive, you’ll greet Liz, feeling surprised about why you’ve met at Honeydukes.

She’ll explain that she wanted sweets and wasn’t allowed to have any while working in conservation due to a Jarvey accident. You’ll inquire about what happened, and she’ll tell you that she had some Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum in her pocket. A Jarvey got into it, blew a bubble so big that he floated off, and they couldn’t get him down for days.

She’ll say she can talk about Jarveys but she’ll suggest stopping and shifting to private matters. Then, she’ll mention that you’ve been through a lot lately, especially with losing a coworker. She’ll ask if you knew Ruby well. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Liz will comment that losing someone you worked with can’t be easy. She’ll then ask if bringing it up brings back difficult memories for you. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Liz will add that losing someone is always a reminder that life is precious. She’ll also say that it might sound silly, but being there in Honeydukes reminds her of what’s important in life. She’ll then suggest having a little chat to see if she can help you in any way. 

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within one hour. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Liz. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

She’ll then say she’s trying to convey that life is a lot like a package of Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans. You’ll be confused about what she means, but she’ll explain that just when you’re hoping for a taste of toffee apple, you might end up with a dirty sock.

You’ll thank her for the advice and insights from her perspective, and at that moment, Olivia will rush in, looking visibly upset.

Now that you have completed the story, you can start the mandatory and optional chapter tasks. You need to complete one mandatory chapter task and two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete three tasks, the fourth one that is left will disappear.

Go to your Flat to start the mandatory chapter task. You’ll meet up with Jae, who needs help spreading the word about how fantastic the place he works at, Fitzy Flurpuff’s Enchanted Cake, is. He’ll need your assistance in getting the word out.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer. 

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points. 

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to your Flat.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the Wizarding World n section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Choose the optional tasks you like. You can do Magical Creature Safekeeping at the Department Of Magical Creature Regulation which will give you Dragon Club Experience Points and some Magizoologist Experience Points. Magical Maintenance Cover at the Department Of Magical Law Enforcement where you can gain Dragon Club Experience Points, or Examine Muggle Trash at the Alleyway where you can earn additional Hipogriff Club Experience Points.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

This will conclude Chapter 14 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 1. You will receive 400 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
