Chapter 17 – Groove Is In The Art

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Seventeen of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume One of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you met with Callum to gather more information about the unfortunate case involving your colleague Ruby’s death. After some convincing, Callum agreed to share what he had discovered. During your discussion, you uncovered a crucial clue linking both your cases: Felix Grooves.

Additionally, upon inspecting Ruby’s belongings found at the scene of the incident, Callum discovered Ruby had also written Felix’s name in her notebook. He also found Ruby’s necklace, a partially burned painting, and a certificate for the painting. You then went to verify with your friend and art expert, Badeea, only to find out that the painting was a forgery, as was the certificate. Your conversation was interrupted by a letter from Madam Umbridge, urgently summoning you to meet with her.

Upon arriving at her office, you learned that Madam Umbridge had become the president of the Social Club and had revoked your membership. You then met with Orion and Tonks to brainstorm ways to regain entry to the club, as you needed to learn more about the mysterious Felix. After a brief discussion, you concluded that the next club meeting would be at Fitzy Flourpuff’s Enchanted Cakery, and you headed there.

(This task and some dialogs will differ based on your previous choice, whether you chose Tonks or Orion to help you in the previous chapter.)

Proceed to Fitzy Flourpuff’s Enchanted Cakery when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. As you arrive there, you’ll notice that your friend hasn’t arrived yet, hoping that your plan will succeed.

While waiting for your friend, you’ll wonder how the mysterious Felix is connected to both your cursed quill case and the art gallery fire case. Your thoughts will be interrupted by your friend, who will note that you were right about the next meeting being at Fitzy Cakery.

You’ll mention that it now makes sense why Madam Umbridge told you that you wouldn’t get cake after kicking you out of the social club. You’ll also comment that you’re surprised she chose such a public place for a secret club.

Then you’ll suggest going through the plan one more time. These lines will differ based on your previous choice.

You’ll ask your friend how he plans to keep Madam Umbridge busy, and in this case, your friend will say that he’ll send her on a physical and mental journey to look deep within for the answers to life’s mysteries, specifically through deep breathing and light stretching. There are two different options to choose from. If you like Orion, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Shortly after, you’ll see that Madam Umbridge is alone, and you’ll begin with your plan of questioning the other members while your friend distracts her. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

In the first phase, bonus progress actions are related to Ethan.

In the second phase, bonus progress actions are related to Lucius Malfoy.

In the third phase, bonus progress actions are related to Glideroy Lockhart.

Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. When you finish, fortunately, your plan will succeed. These lines will differ based on your previous choice. 

Following that, you’ll mention that it turns out that Felix Grooves is definitely involved in the art world. You’ll also add that he’s a member of the social club, but you’ve never met him. Then you’ll thank your friend and head back to work.

Go to the Workspace to meet with Callum. When you arrive, Callum will mention that he received your owl, which sounded urgent.

You’ll tell him that you managed to get back into the social club and inquire about Felix. You’ll also be eager to share what you’ve discovered with Callum, but he’ll caution you to keep it quiet because Flump shouldn’t know that you’re working together on the Fiendfyre case. Then, you’ll share the information you’ve gathered.

To tell Callum about Felix Grooves, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Callum. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Callum will say that it’s very suspicious that nobody has met Felix, and he’ll add that he believes Ruby was definitely close to uncovering the truth. You’ll ask him what led him to think that, and he’ll tell you that Ruby had Felix’s name in her notebook and that she ended up at the art gallery where his paintings were being auctioned.

Callum will suggest that Ruby might have wanted to make you think it was random, and he’ll ask you what if Ruby intended to be at the art gallery that day so she could continue working the case undetected.

There are two options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Your colleague will comment that Ruby might have been targeted for investigating Felix Grooves, which would mean that you might be in danger too. You’ll realize that it’s important to convince Flump that your cases are intertwined.

Callum will say he last saw Flump in the Ministry All-Purpose Room and warn you to be careful.

Before you go, you will have a waiting period of three hours.

After the waiting time is over, go to the Ministry All-Purpose Room to continue the story. Unfortunately, Flump won’t be there when you arrive, but your friend Barnaby will be.

Barnaby will notice that you’re in a hurry, and you’ll tell him that you came to see your boss but can’t seem to find him anywhere. He’ll suggest chatting while you wait, since it’s been a while since you last talked.

To catch up with Barnaby, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Baranaby. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll comment that it sounds like everything’s coming up in Barnaby’s life.

You’ll say that he might finally be starting to feel better and adjust to life after Hogwarts. Barnaby will feel a bit awkward because you’ve only been talking about him, so he’ll ask how your work is going.  There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Barnaby will comment that he’s really glad to see you and that you’ve brightened up his brilliant day. Following that, his uncle Cecil will come into the room.

Uncle Cecil will look quite upset, and Barnaby will ask him what he’s doing here.

He will then deliver very distressing news to Barnaby.

Barnaby will be deeply troubled by this news.

You’ll feel deeply sorry for Barnaby, so you’ll decide to gather all your friends to comfort him together. Before you go, you will have a waiting period of four hours.

After the waiting time is over, proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say. Upon arrival, you’ll witness a heart-wrenching scene: Barnaby, visibly upset and in tears, surrounded by all your friends who are there to comfort him.

Penny will thank you for organizing everything.

Penny will assume that it was a very stressful moment for you. There are two options to choose from. If you like Barnaby, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Penny will say that Barnaby is really upset, and you’ll suggest that you all do your best to console him. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Barnaby. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Barnaby will thank you all and say that he doesn’t know how to express how he feels. You’ll tell him that it’s alright and that it takes time.

Barnaby will comment that his thoughts are messed up and that he needs to focus on just one. He’ll ask you what you think about in tragic times like this. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll comment that it reminds you of something, but you won’t want to say it because the focus should be on Barnaby. Despite that, he’ll ask you to share to help take his mind off the tragic incident.

Barnaby will thank you for being there for him and apologize for having to leave with his uncle to go to his grandmother’s house.

Now that you have completed the story, you can start the mandatory and optional chapter tasks. You need to complete one mandatory chapter task and two optional chapter tasks to unlock the next chapter. When you complete three tasks, the fourth one that is left will disappear.

Go to your Flat to start the mandatory chapter task. You’ll meet with Alanza, who needs help preparing and selecting good songs to play for her first performance.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer. 

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points. 

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to your Flat.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the Wizarding World section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Choose the optional tasks you like. You can do Enchanted Baking at the Fitzy Flourpuff’s Enchanted Cakery where you can gain Hippogriff Club Experience Points. Ghostly Friendships at the Godric’s Hollow Graveyard where you can gain Dragon Club Experience Points, and Wrangle Book at the Research Lab where you can earn additional Spinx Club Experience Points.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

This will conclude Chapter 17 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 1. You will receive 400 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
