Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-One of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you asked Madam Strout for permission to bring Fang into the Hospital to make Hagrid feel at home. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed at St. Mungo’s, so she couldn’t allow you to bring Hagrid’s dog to him. However, you decided to bend the rules a bit and find a way to get Fang into the Hospital.

Talbott told you that accidents involving human transfigurations are quite common, so he advised you to dress Fang up as a wizard who attempted human transfiguration and failed. You liked that idea, so you asked Andre to help you style Fang up. He was up for the challenge, and he made an adorable wizard outfit for the dog.

Thanks to that, you managed to get Fang into St. Mungo’s and avoid suspicion. Hagrid was overjoyed to see his dog, and he thanked you for making his stay in the Hospital better. Later on, you talked to Madam Strout about your assignment, and she was pleased with your progress. While talking to her, Chiara arrived to inform you that Jacob was rushed to the hospital.

Proceed to the reception area of St. Mungo’s once you are ready to start the first assignment. Madam Strout will be glad to see you arrive. Apparently, she has an assignment for you.

Eagerly, you’ll ask her to tell you more about it. She’ll explain how a Draconologist contracted dragon pox while working with Peruvian Vipertooths and inquire if you’re familiar with the disease. You’ll acknowledge knowing some basic things about it, and Madam Strout will ask you to help her treat the patient, to which you’ll gladly offer your assistance.

To complete this assignment, you will need to finish several tasks. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

Now that the assignments are out of the way, you can continue the story. Proceed to the Hospital Ward when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. As soon as you spot Jacob on one of the beds, you will rush to his side.

Chiara will be sorry for what happened to your brother, and Madam Strout will tell her that she did a good job informing you about Jacob. You will then get to choose whether you want to call out to Jacob or stay calm. Madam Strout will appreciate it if you decide to remain calm, so it is recommended to go with that option.

You’ll ask if there’s anything you can do to help your brother. Following that, Madam Strout will ask you and Chiara to gather around and observe Jacob’s wounds with her. Tending to Jacob requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Madam Strout, your character, and a Mediwizard standing near one of the patients. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

After examining Jacob’s wounds, indicative of a dragon attack, you and Chiara will express uncertainty about the dragon’s involvement. Madam Strout will grant permission for further research, and Chiara will propose consulting a dragon expert.

Madam Strout will say that helping Jacob is your next St. Mungo’s assignment. Chiara will commit to investigating dragon burns and seeking an expert. Meanwhile, you will plan to inquire about Jacob’s activities, starting with Mad-Eye Moody, who may have insights into your brother’s situation.

Proceed to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement once you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. You will rush to Mad-Eye and tell him about Jacob.

He’ll ask you to slow down and tell him everything. Explaining what happened requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

Mad-Eye will express surprise at Jacob’s injuries. You’ll tell him that you’re trying to find out what Jacob was doing, with Chiara’s help, and mention the words Jacob muttered about Chinese Fireballs and dragon claws.

You’ll ask Mad-Eye if he has any idea what the words could mean. Unfortunately, Jacob didn’t tell him anything about his latest mission. He’ll admit that he hasn’t heard from your brother in a while. You will wonder if Jacob’s latest mission had something to do with hunting down members of ‘R’.

Mad-Eye will say that someone might be trying to prevent Jacob from testifying at the Wizengamot trial. After all, his testimony is essential in making sure that White Robed Wizard stays locked in Azkaban.

Without Jacob, the only other witnesses would be you and Merula. Mad-Eye will ask if she is still ‘R’’s mole. You’ll tell him about the note she sent to them and add that Corey and you are wondering if you can turn Merula to your side.

Mad-Eye will ask if you believe that Merula can be turned against ‘R’. There are three options to choose from. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option and say that she can be flipped.

In any case, you will say that your current focus is making sure that Jacob recovers from the injuries. Mad-Eye will suggest that you talk to Mundungus Fletcher. Given that he and Jacob were in frequent contact, he might know what happened to your brother. You will thank him before leaving the place.

Since you’ll be heading to Knockturn Alley, you will decide to take backup with you, and the backup will be none other than Corey. This line will differ, based on the choice you made while talking to Corey during one of the previous chapters

The following task doesn’t involve spending any energy, which is why you should proceed to Knockturn Alley as soon as possible. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. This will be the first time Corey came to Knockturn Alley.

She will be very excited about finally getting the chance to see the place. You will ask her to keep her voice down since the denizens of Knockturn Alley aren’t too friendly. She will ask who you’re looking for, and you’ll tell her that you need to find Mundungus Fletcher. Corey will be surprised to hear that you know Mundungus. Moments later, you will spot the person you’re looking for.

Corey will ask how you are planning to approach Mundungus. There are two options to choose from. It is highly recommended to take a peaceful approach. That way, Mundungus will reveal some extra information about Jacob.

Shortly after, you will approach Mundungus. He will happily greet you once he sees you, and he’ll ask if there’s anything he can do for you.

You’ll tell him you need to find out about Jacob’s latest mission. The following lines will differ, based on your previous choice.

Corey will follow your lead.

Mundungus will say that he doesn’t know much about what Jacob was doing. However, he could be convinced to remember something important.

You’ll suggest having a duel. After considering it for a moment, Mundungus will agree to duel with you. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of the duel. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.

The attribute requirements for this duel are fairly low, so you should more than likely have a decent advantage. If your Courage or Empathy is at least 3 points higher than the recommended value, you should simply go Sneaky or Aggressive and use Flipendo or Depulso.

This way, you will easily win the duel in two turns. Otherwise, you can go Aggressive on the first turn and use Incendio, and then follow up with Depulso or Flipendo on the second turn. As long as you get the burn effect, you should be able to win in two turns. All in all, it shouldn’t be too difficult to win this duel.

Shortly after, you’ll ask Mundungus to tell you what he knows about Jacob. He’ll tell you that your brother was looking for an artefact that ‘R’ has been after for a while.

You will ask if Jacob mentioned anything about dragons. If you decided to take a peaceful approach, Mundungus will tell you that Jacob didn’t go against any dragon.

You’ll thank Mundungus for the information. He’ll decide to get back to selling his potions. Corey will be curious about those potions. Mundungus will say that he has some Baruffio’s Brain Elixir made with genuine dragon claws. You’ll immediately recall Jacob mumbling about dragon claws, and since dragon claws are used in potion-making, you will decide to talk to Penny and see if she can help you solve the mystery.

You will need to wait two hours until you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Alchemy Room of St. Mungo’s once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. You’ll tell Penny that you’re off to a good start with the investigation.

You’ll ask if she has a moment to talk about dragon claws, and she’ll say she’s happy to help in any way she can. She’ll tell you she is brewing some Burn-Healing Paste for Jacob, so she’ll suggest talking while working on it.

You’ll find it odd that she already needs to brew more Burn-Healing Paste. Penny will tell you that the first two rounds of the paste didn’t have any effect on Jacob’s wounds, and you’ll offer to help her brew some more Burn-Healing Paste. Helping Penny requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to the cauldron, Penny, and your character. Focus on those if you want to save a bit of energy.

As it seems, powdered dragon claw has a brain-boosting effect. Penny will tell you that people often use it when they need an intelligence boost. You’ll ask her if there’s anything special about Chinese Fireball dragon claws. Unfortunately, she won’t know if there’s anything special about those.

She’ll wonder if you have any idea what Jacob wanted to do with dragon claws. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Shortly after, Talbott will arrive and say that you’re needed in the Hospital Ward. Apparently, something’s wrong with Jacob.

As soon as you hear that, you will rush out of the Alchemy Room. However, you will need to wait four hours until you’re able to continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Hospital Ward once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. You’ll ask Madam Strout about Jacob’s condition.

She’ll tell you that the Burn-Healing Paste is having no effect on Jacob’s injuries. Needless to say, that certainly isn’t good news. Madam Strout will ask if you had any luck figuring out what Jacob was doing when he was injured, but you’ll tell her that you are still investigating it.

Madam Strout will suggest speaking to him since hearing from their family can sometimes help patients, and you’ll decide to give it a try. Talking to Jacob requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.
