Chapter 22 – What’s The Manor?
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Two of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume Two of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, as you were preparing for your journey to Japan, Ruby stopped you, wanting to talk. She revealed that Merula has been following her on every mission, and asked if she should be worried about being exposed. After consulting with Flump, it was decided that Ruby must be more cautious, but also that it was time for her to move out of your apartment. Still, you were given a few days off to take care of personal matters.
Soon after, you learned that Olivia had something to give you—a Portkey coin that transported you straight to Japan, to a mysterious arcade where your brother Jacob was hiding. There, you finally found him and heard the truth: his search for the amulet had led him here, though he still keeps this a secret from Olivia, fearing he might lose her trust. He confided in you that he is working on something big, and that he wants you by his side when it all comes to light.

Proceed to the Ministry All-Purpose Room when you are ready. When you arrive, Olivia will be waiting for you, and she’ll ask how your trip to Japan was. You’ll reply that the trip was a breeze, thanks in large part to the Portkey she lent you.
She’ll assume that Jacob came back with you, but you’ll assure her that he’s still in Japan. However, you’ll add that he still cares deeply about her, and then suggest explaining Jacob’s situation to her in more detail.
To recap your trip to Japan, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Olivia will realize that Jacob is pursuing a clue that could lead him to your father, and he will not leave Japan until he figures it out. After that, you will give her the gift Jacob sent for her.

Olivia will explain to you that this is their inside joke and that, with this gesture, Jacob has still shown that he cares about her. She will thank you, and when you offer to return the Portkey, she will tell you that she does not need it and that it will be more useful to you.
Following that, you will tell her that you will keep her updated on everything and say goodbye to her. However, as you leave, you will run into Lucius Malfoy, who will immediately provoke you.
He will smugly point out that Dumbledore is no longer the Headmaster at Hogwarts and that Hagrid will be arrested because he is the main suspect in the opening of the Chamber of Secrets. You will say that this is impossible, and that you trust Dumbledore and Hagrid, but Lucius will tell you that your loyalty to them blinds you and that you refuse to believe the truth.
There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You will then decide to go to the Student Centre to see if any of your friends have heard about the incident at Hogwarts and the Chamber of Secrets.
You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Go to the Former Student Centre when the waiting time is over. There, you will meet Chiara and explain to her what you heard from Lucius about the events at Hogwarts. She will also refuse to believe the story that Hagrid and Dumbledore are to blame.
However, while talking with her, you will notice that she seems upset about something, and she will tell you that she is in a difficult situation she can’t see a way out of. She will then suggest that you discuss her problem for a bit.
To discuss Chiara’s problem, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Chiara and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Chiara will be afraid that someone has discovered her secret—that she is a werewolf—and will add that she has been very upset ever since Umbridge drafted the anti-werewolf legislation.
She will also tell you that people at work are treating her a little differently, and she will be worried about losing her job. She will then ask for your opinion on whether she might be overthinking things.
There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

She will thank you for listening to her, and she will suggest going shopping for art to cheer herself up. Badeea has told her that he’s got a booth set up, so she will think it’s a good opportunity to get some new decor for her flat. You will agree, and you will head there immediately.
Proceed to the Festival Grounds when you are ready. You will greet Badea, and you will notice that she has a lot of paintings for sale, making it a bit harder for Chiara to choose which one to pick for her flat.
You will also ask Badea if she has heard about the incident at Hogwarts, to which she will say that she has and that she is very worried, having heard that some students were even petrified. However, she will also say that she does not believe Hagrid and Dumbledore are to blame.
In any case, Badea will say that she knows the situation at Hogwarts is difficult, but she wanted to hear more about you and how you are doing. You will agree to chat with her a bit about your personal problems and possible solutions, primarily concerning Jacob.
To discuss Jacob’s situation, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.
The bonus progress actions are tied to Badeea. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You will thank them for listening to you and giving you a few pieces of advice. You will realize that, by all indications, you will need to go back to Jacob in Japan. Following that, Chiara will ask for your advice on what type of painting to choose for her flat. You have three options, choose the one you like the most.

At that moment, you will receive an urgent owl from Jacob, telling you to go to Japan immediately, so there’s no time to waste—let’s go.
Go to the Japanese Arcade to continue the story. When you arrive, he will say that you won’t believe what he has discovered. However, you will reply that you want to hear about it, but that there’s another conversation you need to have first. You will then choose which topic you want to discuss with him.

After a brief conversation with Jacob, you will learn that he has discovered a lead that he believes points directly to your father, and he will want to explain to you how it all connects.
To discuss Jacob’s discovery, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Jacob and the child behind you. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Jacob believes that the amulet’s envelope was made in Japan and that it is connected to your father, and he thinks your father sent it.
He will also tell you that he has been searching Japan to find where Dai Ryusaki lives and that he wants you to go with him, as he thinks he has found the place but isn’t entirely sure. You will agree and suggest that you go to Ryusaki’s manor to look for signs of your father.
Go to the Japanese Mountains to continue the story. However, when you arrive there, you will see nothing, so you will use the spell Revelio. Trace the wand movement to cast Revelio.

The spell will reveal Ryusaki’s manor, which will look very imposing.

Jacob will ask you what you think of the manor. There are two different options to choose from. Both of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after, you will suggest entering the manor and snooping around a bit to look for any potential clues about your father.
To explore the Manor, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Jacob and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

You will learn that the manor is obviously hundreds of years old, yet it is still in immaculate condition. Clearly, someone has been maintaining it all these years since it was originally built. The garden is full of gampi shrubs, which are likely used for making traditional Japanese paper—the washi paper envelope could have been made here!
Unfortunately, that doesn’t shed any more light on your father’s situation. At that moment, someone will come out of the manor and see you, and Jacob will ask what you should do now.
You will have the option to either attack him or greet him politely. It is recommended that you be courteous. In any case, you will talk to him and introduce yourself.

In any case, you will talk to him and introduce yourself.
