Chapter 24 – Identity Theft

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Four of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume Two of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, your journey took a surprising turn as your search for answers led you from the mysterious streets of Japan back to the troubled halls of Hogwarts. You gained Kenji’s trust after a tense encounter at his manor, uncovering more about his connection to Dai Ryusaki and your father’s past. But as you returned home, you discovered that things had taken a dark turn—Lucius Malfoy was moving against Dumbledore, and poor Hagrid had been arrested for a crime he didn’t commit.

Despite your best efforts, even Flump couldn’t intervene, reminding you that sometimes, not every battle can be won with magic. Seeking comfort, you turned to Orion, whose wisdom helped calm your restless thoughts and reignite your determination to fight for what’s right. Just when hope seemed dim, Merula appeared with shocking news— she claims that Pepper Copperbottom is actually Eris Foxglove, someone who may have been hiding her true identity all along.

Brace yourself—the mystery deepens, and the storm is far from over.

Proceed to your flat when you are ready. When you arrive, you will tell Ruby that Merula claims Pepper’s true identity is Eris Foxglove. She will then ask if you really believe Merula.

In any case, she will decide to prove to you that she is not Eris and will tell you to ask her anything.

To question Ruby, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. 

Ruby will prove that she knows the story, recounting all events correctly. However, you will ask Do you really think the ROCC is so incompetent that they wouldn’t verify that she is who she claims to be.

There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

She will then say that in any case, she needs some time to herself, to be alone, but you won’t believe her because this is your flat, not hers, and in anger, she will leave. 

Shortly after that, you will receive an owl from Merula requesting a meeting in four hours to show you something. 

Since the chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait. When the waiting time is over, continue to Foxglove Meadow.  When you arrive there, Merula will ask if you are impressed by the place. If you like Merula, choose the second or third option.

You’ll ask her how she discovered this place, and she will request that you pay close attention as she tells a story you won’t want to miss.

Then she will say that there’s no need to thank her. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

However, as you prepare to go inside, a notorious Graphorn will appear, attempting to attack you. You’ll need 500 coins to engage in the duel. The Graphorn’s stats will be roughly similar to yours, so it’s wise to use a mix of sneaky and aggressive moves. By skillfully employing Flippedno and Depulso, you will, after a challenging fight, successfully defeat the Graphorn.

After you finish the duel, Merula will cast one more spell to knock the Graphorn down. She will thank you for the distraction and add that while you were keeping busy, she managed to subdue the Graphorn.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Then you will enter the house, and Merula will ask you what you think of the place. There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Merula will add that exactly as she left it, she bet that impostor didn’t even know she was here, and you will respond that that impostor could show up at any minute, so let’s stop wasting time and start searching for evidence.

You will also notice a large number of documents on the table, all labeled under the name Eris Foxglove, and she will ask you what you think about these documents.

Following that, Merula will say she has something very special to show you. However, when she opens the drawer where she last saw it, she’ll find it empty. Shocked, she’ll explain that the last time she was here, there was a diary — filled with entries written by Eris Foxglove. It talked about becoming someone new, starting a new job, and making new friends.

Merula will be convinced that Ruby is behind this. She’ll add that she compared the handwriting and that it matches Ruby’s perfectly. Determined, she’ll insist that she knows she’s lied before, but she’s not lying about this.

At that moment, you’ll have the option to decide whether or not you believe her. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You will then tell Merula that you’ll take over the investigation about Ruby (aka Pepper). She will agree — but only on the condition that you keep her informed. You’ll suggest slipping away quietly so you aren’t seen. In the meantime, you’ll receive an owl from Jacob asking to meet in three hours; 

When the waiting time ends, proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn to meet him. When you arrive, you’ll ask Jacob if he’s seen Olivia. He’ll smile and say that he has — and that she’s forgiven him for everything. However, he’ll quickly notice the doubtful look on your face, realizing that you’re not entirely convinced by his words.

In any case, he’ll say that he appreciates that you’re worried about Liv, but he actually has some exciting news. He’s received a message from Kenji Ryusaki. You’ll immediately urge him to tell you what’s going on.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Jacob. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions. 

Kenji Ryusaki wants you to return to his manor as soon as possible to meet someone. Jacob’s eyes will widen with hope as he says that that someone has to be Dad.

There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Which means that if your dad is truly at the manor, then Kenji has been protecting him all along… raising the question — how do Kenji and your dad even know each other?

In any case, you will decide to head to Japan as soon as possible to find out what’s really going on. With that decision made, the story tasks for this chapter will come to an end.

Proceed to your Flat to start the mandatory chapter task. Corey has some Antique Hunting tasks to complete, and she’s invited you to join her on the adventure.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to Three Broomsticks.

After you complete all the objectives, you can claim the reward in the Wizarding World section of the Wizarding Life tab.

Choose the optional tasks you like. You can do Buy Book at Flourish and Blotts, where you can earn Spinx Experience Points, Wandkeeping at the Ollivanders, where you can earn Spinx Experience Points, and Ministry Case Analysis at DMLE, where you can earn Dragon Experience Points and Auror Experience Points.

Also, prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever they are available.

Try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

This will conclude Chapter 24 of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume 2. You will receive 400 Coins and 2500 Experience Points. 

This chapter closes with Jacob and Ruby uncovering startling truths about Eris Foxglove, realizing that appearances can be deceiving and that trust must be earned. With each revelation, their determination to protect their friends and uncover the full story grows stronger, setting the stage for the next chapter of intrigue and adventure.
