Chapter 25 – The Mystery Man
Introduction
Welcome back, everyone, to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Five of Beyond Hogwarts: Volume Two of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, your investigation took a dramatic turn as the line between truth and deception blurred more than ever. After Merula’s shocking revelation that Pepper Copperbottom might actually be Eris Foxglove, you were left questioning everything you thought you knew.
Ruby tried to defend herself, insisting she wasn’t who Merula claimed—but her sudden anger and disappearance only deepened the mystery. Determined to uncover the truth, you followed Merula to Foxglove Meadow, where together you faced danger, including a fierce Graphorn attack, before discovering the mysterious Foxglove Cottage. Inside, the evidence you found—letters, documents, and a missing diary—hinted at a chilling possibility: someone may have stolen another’s identity.
Meanwhile, Jacob brought unexpected news from Kenji Ryusaki, suggesting that your father might still be alive—and protected all this time. With this revelation, you’ve decided to journey back to Japan once again, in hopes of finding answers to questions that have haunted you since the beginning.
But be warned—truth has a way of hiding in the shadows, and in this chapter, the past will finally begin to reveal its secrets.

Proceed to the Japanese Arcade when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.
When you arrive at Kenji’s residence, he greets you with a serious expression, clearly burdened by something important. He’ll tell you that there’s something he must reveal — something he can no longer keep hidden.
You and Jacob immediately confront him, asking why, if it’s truly so important, he waited so long to send word. Kenji will pause for a moment before replying calmly but firmly that he wasn’t certain he could trust you. There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Kenji will say that after speaking with him, it has become clear that both you and Jacob need to be informed of his situation. Naturally, you’ll ask who this mysterious person is.
Kenji will take a deep breath and reply that it is a long story, so you should listen closely, and he will answer any questions afterwards.
To learn Kenji’s secret, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Kai, your character, and Kenji. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Kenji will explain that a severely injured wizard appeared at his door some time ago, and he has been caring for him ever since. He’ll add that the man slept for an entire month, and when he finally woke, he asked Kenji to send something on his behalf.
Wanting to help, Kenji provided an envelope from his personal supply and sent it off to London, more precisely, to the British Ministry of Magic. And the letter was addressed to you.
You’ll immediately ask where this mysterious patient is, and Kenji will quietly reply that he’s at the manor, still very weak and drifting in and out of consciousness.
He’ll then tell you that you may visit him if you wish—an offer you won’t hesitate to accept, as you and Jacob immediately head toward the manor to uncover the truth for yourselves.
Go to the Dai Rysaki Manor to continue the story. When you arrive, Kenji will welcome you to the ancestral home of the Ryusaki family. He’ll explain that he is currently the only one living there—aside from his patient.
After a brief moment of silence, Kenji will open a large wooden door, revealing the patient resting inside. To your shock, you’ll realize it’s your father.

Kenji will say that he doesn’t understand what your father is trying to say and will suggest that perhaps you should try speaking with him yourself.
To talk to your father, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Kenji and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

You will realize that your father mentioned a vault. You will ask Kenji if he knows anything about it, and he will say that he doesn’t, adding that your father keeps repeating it nonstop. Jacob will then add that you can figure it out later, but for now, you need to take your father home.
There are two different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You will realize, however, that it’s a bad idea to take him home, especially since he is a wanted criminal. Kenji will then ask you, What kind of trouble is your father in? It’s recommended to reveal everything.

In any case, Kenji will once again do you a favor and add that your brother Jacob can stay with him, as he has plenty of guestrooms to look after your father. If you tell him the truth, he will truly appreciate it. Following that, you will have the option to remind Jacob about Olivia or to keep it to yourself.

Following that, you decide to speak with Tonks to find out what would happen if your father returns to London.
You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue.

Proceed to the Three Broomsticks when the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.
When you arrive, you begin a conversation with Tonks about her Auror training. After a short while, you tell her that you could use her insight as an Auror-in-training, but you can’t really share all the details. She will respond that she understands and that if you’re keeping secrets, it must be for a good reason. You’ll then ask her, if a known criminal fled the country and tried to return, what would happen?
To discover Dad’s fate, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

A criminal would be detained, face a Wizengamot trial, and then likely be sent to Azkaban. Of course, going to Azkaban depends on the severity of the crime. Tonks even uses your father as an example, as if she knows him strangely well.
For example, given the public nature of your dad’s attack on Hogwarts, if he were alive, he’d almost certainly go to Azkaban. She will then ask if you think your dad would serve a life sentence, adding that she believes it fits his crime.
There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, she’ll say that since you’re already discussing Azkaban, there’s good news for you—Hagrid has finally been released. You’ll immediately decide to go visit him.
Go to Hagrid’s Hut to continue the story. When you arrive, you will see Professor Dumbledore as well, who will say that you’ll be pleased to know he has been reinstated as Headmaster. Naturally, you’ll finally feel relieved seeing Hagrid and Dumbledore back at Hogwarts, and you will ask them to explain exactly what happened.
To get Hogwarts news, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Fang and Hagrid. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Everyone at Hogwarts has been safely unpetrified, and the Basilisk has finally been dealt with. However, it seems that a mysterious diary was responsible for opening the Chamber of Secrets. Dumbledore will explain that it’s a very unusual diary and, unfortunately, he cannot reveal much more about it.
He’ll reassure you, though, that the diary is now in safe hands and that there is no reason to worry, as the situation is fully under control. Hagrid, relieved to see you, then will turn to you with a smile and ask what’s new in your life.
There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

In any case, Professor Dumbledore will say that he has to leave because he has a meeting with the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
You will ask him about Lockhart, and he will reply that he has just escorted him to the Janus Thickey Ward at St. Mungo’s. Dumbledore will suggest that you should visit the ward yourself, mentioning that he saw Corey there. Curious to see if everything is alright, you will decide to head to Janus Thickey Ward immediately.
You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to the Hospital Ward once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will ask Corey what happened, and she will say that Diego and she ran into a bit of trouble on their last antiquing expedition.
You will ask if Diego didn’t protect her, but she will explain that Diego wasn’t there, so things could have been disastrous. She will also add that everything is fine now, and they managed to get the rare antiques they were searching for.
She will mention that she saw something she is certain you will want to hear about. When you ask her what it was, Lockhart will appear—but it seems he doesn’t recognize you and has lost his memory.

To learn about Lockhart, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Lockhart. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Lockhart doesn’t know where he is or what happened, and Chiara will feel concerned for him. She’ll react with surprise and worry, realizing how confused and disoriented he must be.
There are two different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

You will ask Chiara what happened to him, and she will explain that Dumbledore told her he suffered an accident with a misfired memory charm. This explains why Dumbledore is looking for a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. She will also reveal new professor is Lupin. After that, Chiara will need to attend to Lockhart as he starts wandering around.

You will ask Corey what she saw, and with measured caution, she will tell you that she saw Ruby Honeysuckle.
Apparently, while Corey and Diego were in Brazil, they learned about a witch caring for magical creatures, and after some investigation, she became convinced it was Ruby. If this is true, then who is the person living with you? You will immediately head home, wondering if this could be a major revelation.

Proceed to your Three Broomsticks to start the mandatory chapter task. Hagrid needs help with all the tasks and responsibilities that were left undone while he was in Azkaban.

You’ll need to complete several objectives to finish this mandatory chapter task. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these objectives, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.
