Chapter 3 – A Rumour Takes Flight

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Quidditch Season 4 Chapter 3 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you met with Bean in the Quidditch Changing Room. You learned that she was the one who left the Treacle Tart, but she had nothing to do with destroying the robes. While talking to her, you heard a strange noise coming from one of the lockers.

Upon opening it, you found Barnaby’s pet Knarl, and quickly realized that the creature was the one who shredded your team’s Quidditch robes. After solving the mystery, you met with Murphy at the commentary box, where he helped you learn the basics of seeking. Later on, you met with Face Paint Kid in the Great Hall where you took his Seeking Quiz. After that, Skye taught you the Spiral Dive, a useful Seeking maneuver that can help you catch the Golden Snitch.

Lastly, you met with Penny in the Courtyard, and she told you there is a rumor that one of the other house teams might have a secret weapon that could help them win the Quidditch Cup. You decided to talk to Murphy and see if he knows anything about it.

Proceed to the Commentary Box when you are ready to meet with him. Murphy will be quite happy to see you. He’ll wonder why you wanted to meet with him.

Apparently, he has already heard about it.

The following lines will differ based on your previous choice.

You’ll ask Murphy if he thinks the rumor is true, but unfortunately, he won’t be entirely certain if your opponents have a secret weapon. However, he did notice their captain acting more confident than usual, suggesting a possibility that they might be bluffing. In any case, you’ll need to take the threat seriously until you can confirm it.

Meanwhile, you should focus on the tasks at hand, especially since your first house match should start fairly soon.

Murphy will be more than happy to help you come up with a strategy and will also mention that there is something you should know about your opponents. Discussing strategy with Murphy requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

According to Murphy, your opponents are currently the fastest team at Hogwarts.

He will advise you to have a tight defense and try your best to quickly catch the Golden Snitch. You will hope that the Spiral Dive maneuver you learned from Skye will come in handy during the match.

Now that you have a solid plan, you can meet up with your teammates and tell them about it.

Proceed to the Quidditch Pitch when you are ready. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your teammates. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You will gather up your teammates and tell them you have a perfect strategy for the first house match of the season.

You’ll explain that your opponents are incredibly fast. Because of that, your team will need to keep a tight defense until you’re able to catch the Golden Snitch.

Shortly after, the practice will start. Unfortunately, your teammates will be quite distracted by something.

You’ll stop the practice and ask them to explain what happened, and Skye will tell you they are worried about your opponent’s secret weapon. The choice that you made in the previous chapter will take effect here.

In any case, you will need to get the team back on track if you are to win the upcoming match. You’ll then get to choose if you want to go with a stern or compassionate approach. This choice will affect some of the dialogue lines, but it won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Moments later, Skye will gather the team. Helping the team focus requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to Skye. Focus on it when it is available to save some energy.

Luckily, your plan will work, and the team will be back on track, so you’ll thank Skye for helping you re-focus the team. Now, you and your teammates can continue practicing for the upcoming match, and once the practice is over, you should have enough time to attend the pre-match party.

You will need to complete two Quidditch friendlies before you can continue. While playing these, you are free to pick any position you prefer. However, since you will be playing Seeker during the house match, you might as well use the opportunity to hone your Seeking skills.

Try your best to successfully complete the maneuvers to earn rewards.

Once you are done, you will need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to the training grounds once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will be able to check out what some of the characters have to say. Penny will happily welcome you to the first pre-match party of the season.

You’ll thank her for taking the time to prepare everything, and she will figure out that you and your teammates have been quite busy lately. You’ll admit that some unexpected things have happened ever since the season started.

Luckily, you’ve managed to get the team back on track in time for the first house match. Suddenly, you’ll hear a familiar voice and turn around to spot Rita Skeeter standing behind you. You won’t be too surprised to see her. If this is your first time meeting Rita, these lines will be different.

As it seems, Rita’s readers are quite eager to know more about you. If this isn’t your first encounter with her, you won’t be too happy about her previous articles.

Still, Rita won’t take no for an answer, and she will insist on interviewing you. Talking to Rita requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character and Penny. Prioritize those if you are looking to save energy.

After answering Rita’s questions, you’ll be eager to return to the party.

Before you go, Rita will ask you one last question. Apparently, she’s heard about the latest rumors.

She’ll ask if you have anything to say about that. There are three options to reply with. No matter which option you choose, Rita will twist your words, as usual.

Shortly after, you will get back to the party. Penny will smile and say that she saved you the last Cauldron Cake.

Not long after that, you’ll need to go to the Quidditch Changing Room to prepare for the upcoming match. Upon arriving, you’ll spot the speech bubbles above some of your teammates. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Orion will be glad to see you, and you’ll ask if he would be willing to vivify the team before the match starts.

Unfortunately, he won’t be able to do that, but you’ll wonder why that’s the case. He will explain that the captain should be the one to inspire the team, and since you are the one leading the team, it’s up to you to do the honor.

You’ll ask Orion for advice before gathering the team, and he will simply tell you to speak from the heart. That way, you will have no problems expressing your feelings and inspiring your teammates. You’ll thank Orion for the advice, and shortly after, you will gather your team. To perform vivification, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

Once you are done, everyone will be in high spirits.

Orion will be proud of you. He’ll have no doubt that you’ll do amazing as the team’s captain.

Moments later, you and your teammates will head to the pitch. The task window will display all the relevant information. Hit the Start button when you are ready to begin the match.

Murphy will welcome everyone to the first house match of the season.

The fans will loudly cheer. You will notice some familiar faces there.

Shortly after, Murphy will introduce your opponents.

Moments later, you and your teammates will fly onto the pitch.

Before long, the match will start.

Try your best to successfully complete maneuvers. Bear in mind that some of them have a time limit, so you will need to act quickly while doing those.

Still, try your best to stay calm and collected, and you shouldn’t have too much trouble winning the match.

Once the match is over, Murphy will announce the victors.

If you end up winning the match, you will receive some nice rewards.

You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Three Broomsticks once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will be able to check what some of the characters have to say. You will join your teammates at the table.

The following lines will differ based on the outcome of the match. If your team ended up winning, you’ll be glad that the strategy you developed with Murphy worked against your opponents. In case you lost the match, you will say there is a lot you can learn from it.

Either way, you will suggest discussing ways to improve your team.

Reviewing the match requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to Orion. Focus on it to save a bit of energy.

After discussing the match with your teammates, you will say there are three potential areas of improvement for your team.

Orion will ask which of those options your team should be focusing on improving. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

You will look forward to playing the next two house matches.

Orion will tell you there is something he wants to discuss with you in private. Apparently, it has something to do with your journey as the team’s captain.

You’ll suggest meeting in the courtyard to discuss whatever is on his mind.
