Chapter 37 – Lockdown

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Thirty-Seven of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you went to Azkaban with Mad-Eye Moody. Needless to say, you were overwhelmed after entering this dreadful prison. Thankfully, Mad-Eye explained everything you need to know, and after surrendering your wands, the two of you went to see Shiratori.

While interrogating the White-Robed Wizard, you had no other option but to use your power of Legilimency to obtain information. You learned that ‘R’ is still determined to make you their leader, and you found out that the one who broke into Gringotts was none other than Healer Burke. You also figured out that he was in the Romanian Dragon Sanctuary, so you and Moody went there to stop him. Thankfully, you were able to apprehend Burke before he had the chance to harm the Chinese Fireball, and thanks to your efforts, the case was solved.

Griphook thanked you for your help, and just as you were about to leave the bank, you received a message from Mad-Eye, informing you that you’ll soon need to return to Azkaban.

Head back to the Ministry Office when you are ready to start the second assignment. Mad-Eye will greet you once you arrive. You’ll notice that he looks more serious than usual, so you’ll ask him about it.

You’ll be slightly confused to hear that, and Moody will advise you not to argue with the Ministry.

You’ll admit you had a great teacher, and Moody will advise you to keep your guard up, especially when visiting Azkaban. Thankfully, the training should help you in case you ever need to step foot into that dreadful place again. You’ll receive a reward for completing the assignment.

Now that you’ve completed the assignments, you can proceed with the story. Head to the Security Entrance Corridor section of Azkaban when you are ready. You’ll admit you didn’t expect to return to Azkaban so soon.

Moody will apologize for that and say that he needs your help with some unfinished business. You’ll ask if he’s planning to interrogate Shiratori again. Apparently, that’s not the case. You’ll wonder why he asked you to come back to Azkaban. Mad-Eye will explain that your assistance in the capture of Burke left a good impression on the Ministry, and because of that, they decided to have you assist Moody once again.

By the looks of it, you’ll need to surrender your wand again. Mad-Eye will ask if you remember why that’s necessary. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is ‘Prisoners could take them’.

Moody will remind you how dangerous the prisoners of Azkaban are. If any of them get their hands on a wand, it could spell disaster. You’ll ask what would happen if you were to take your wand into prison. According to Moody, you would most likely be attacked by Dementors. Following that, he’ll tell you to prepare yourself.

To do that, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are several bonus progress actions available here, which should help you save energy.

After taking some time to prepare, you’ll say that you are ready. Mad-Eye will tell you to place your wand in the Wand Weigher. Just as you are about to do that, you’ll spot three Dementors flying your way.

You’ll swiftly throw yourself on the ground to avoid them.

Unfortunately, the gate behind you will shut, which will prevent you from going back.

You’ll be puzzled by what happened. According to Moody, one of the prisoners escaped their cell. Because of that, Azkaban went into lockdown. You’ll tell him you still have your wand. On top of that, you’ll be on the wrong side of the gate. Mad-Eye will ask you to give him a moment to get you out. Suddenly, you’ll spot some Dementors flying your way.

Moody will tell you to run since the Dementors will more than likely mistake you for an enemy. He’ll instruct you to go to the interrogation room and wait for him there. Moments later, you will leave the place.

Head to the interrogation room when you are ready to continue. Luckily, you won’t encounter any Dementors on your way there. Once you arrive, you’ll finally be able to let out a sigh of relief. Suddenly, you will spot someone standing near the fireplace.

You’ll figure out it is the escaped prisoner, and the prisoner will start speaking. You’ll immediately recognize the voice—it will be none other than Patricia Rakepick.

The next part will differ based on whether you left Rakepick in the Sunken Vault or turned her in. The following section of the walkthrough will feature the gameplay of a character who chose to turn Rakepick in. Some of the major differences will be pointed out.

If you left Rakepick in the vault, she will wonder if you are real. If you turned her in, she will assume you were sent to eliminate her.

Either way, you definitely didn’t expect to stumble upon her in Azkaban.

If she was left in the vault, she’ll tell you she saw all the people she killed over and over again while she was trapped. You will get to ask her a question about it. There will be three options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

If you turned her in, she’ll be mad at you for preventing her from entering the Sunken Vault. You will try to explain that you saved her from a terrible fate, but she’ll have a hard time believing you.

You’ll remind her that she killed Rowan.

Rakepick will admit that killing Rowan was not her intention, and she’ll ask you again if you were sent by ‘R’ to eliminate her. You’ll make it clear that you will never work for them. She’ll say that they can make people do their bidding, even without knowing it. Still, you’ll be determined to stop them.

You will then learn that the Director is not the leader of ‘R’. If you left Rakepick in the vault, she will refer to the leader of ‘R’ as ‘sir’.

If you turned Rakepick in, she will ask you to give her a reason why she should help you. There are three options to choose from. This choice will affect some of the dialogue later on.

In any case, she will agree to tell you what she knows about ‘R’. Questioning Rakepick requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

You will get to ask Rakepick another question. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, but it will allow you to learn some additional information, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Before you get the chance to ask her anything else, you will hear a loud, howling sound. Rakepick will tell you that Dementors are near and that the two of you need to escape the room immediately.

Having no other options, you will agree to cooperate with her. Rakepick will get on top of the cage and start climbing up the chain. You’ll quickly follow her.

Tap on the icon to proceed to the Supermax area of Azkaban.

Once you get there, you will realize that the Dementors are still after you.

If your character knows the Patronus Charm, you will take out your wand and cast it at the Dementor.

You will spot more of these dreadful creatures approaching you. Rakepick will ask you to give her your wand so she could take care of the Dementors. You can choose to give the wand to Rakepick or not. Both options will end up with the same outcome, so feel free to pick either one.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Rakepick, your character, and one of the cells. Focus on those to save energy.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to convince her to give you back your wand, so you’ll decide to use wandless magic to disarm her. However, you’ll need to wait for the right opportunity. Rakepick will tell you she cannot go back to her cell. Apparently, she is afraid that ‘R’ will send their agents to eliminate her. Suddenly, you will hear the howling sound again.

This will distract Rakepick long enough for you to use Expelliarmus. Trace the path on the screen to cast the Disarming Charm.

Your plan will work, and you’ll be able to get your wand back. Rakepick will just sit there in despair. There are two options for you to react with.

Regardless of your choice, Rakepick will remain there. However, she will say some interesting things based on this one and one of your previous choices.

You’ll quickly decide to find Moody and leave the place. You will say goodbye to Rakepick before you go.

You will need to wait two hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Azkaban Cell Block once the waiting time is over. As soon as he sees you, Mad-Eye will ask if you are all right.

He will admit it was a mistake to bring you to Azkaban, and he’ll also say he is glad that you are okay. You’ll be curious to know why he wanted you to come to Azkaban. He will tell you that the Ministry wanted you to speak with Patricia Rakepick.

You’ll say that Rakepick was the one trying to escape, and Mad-Eye will be surprised to hear that. You’ll then get to tell him what happened during the lockdown. Reporting to Moody requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task if you are out of energy.

After hearing you out, Moody will wonder who the mysterious ‘R’ might be. He’ll be surprised that you survived the encounter with Rakepick unscathed.

The following section will differ based on the choice you made in Sunken Vault. If you decided to trap Rakepick in the vault, Moody will tell you that the Ministry decided to retrieve her and send her to Azkaban. Either way, he will explain that he had to maintain secrecy until the last possible moment.

He’ll apologize to you for the secrecy. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick either option.

Moody will say you did a great job helping apprehend Rakepick, Shiratori, and Burke. He’ll be curious to know how it feels to have so many enemies. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

In any case, Mad-Eye will say that you are bound to make enemies by doing the right thing. He’ll suggest leaving the place as soon as possible, and he will also tell you that your assignments at the Ministry of Magic are officially complete.

You’ll need to wait four hours before you can continue. Once again, it is recommended to wait and let your energy replenish in the meantime.

Head to the Great Hall once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Tonks will be happy to see you. She will find it hard to believe that the Ministry assignments are over.

Still, the assignments were definitely more exciting than you expected. Tonks will ask if your second visit to Azkaban was scary. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t heavily impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Then Tonks will ask you to tell her everything that happened. To do that, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if your energy bar is empty.
