Chapter 41 – That’s Awkward

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Forty-One of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you had a conversation with your father and learned that ‘R’’s goal is the pursuit of knowledge and justice. According to him, Rakepick was acting on her own when she killed Rowan, and ‘R’ had nothing to do with it.

After talking for a while, both you and Corey were free to leave. Before returning to Hogwarts, you met with Jacob and told him about what happened. Needless to say, he was shocked to hear that his father is the leader of ‘R’.

Afterward, you went back to Hogwarts and learned there is a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. You and your friends were quite curious to find out who it is, and much to your surprise, the new professor was none other than Olivia Green. She was the one who was looking for the Cursed Vaults with Jacob, so you decided to investigate if she is somehow connected to ‘R’.

But before that, you should take care of lessons and assignments. Proceed to the Charms classroom when you are ready. To unlock the Impervius lesson, you need to earn a total of nine stars from the Charms classes. Select the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.

As always, prioritize the bonus progress actions to save energy.

Try your best to successfully complete the mini-tasks to earn some extra Empathy points.

Head back to the classroom once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson. To learn the Impervius Charm, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this lesson if you are out of energy.

Follow the same steps you took during the previous classes and you’ll be done in no time.

Upon earning the fifth star, you will be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the Charms section of your Hogwarts Record.

Go to the courtyard when you are ready to start the assignment. After greeting you, Olivia will tell you she heard rumors of a curse on the Defence Against the Dark Arts teachers at Hogwarts. She will wonder if the rumors are true, so she’ll ask you to look into it. You’ll say you are happy to do so.

You will need to finish several tasks to complete the assignment. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these tasks, it is recommended to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

As always, prioritize the bonus progress actions to save energy.

Also, try to successfully complete the mini-tasks to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you finish all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and return to the courtyard. Olivia will thank you for helping her and say there might be some truth to the rumors.

Still, neither of you will be absolutely sure that the rumors are true. Olivia will decide to keep her eyes open, and she’ll ask you to help her. You’ll smile and say that she can count on you.

You will earn a reward for completing the assignment.

Now that you’re done with lessons and assignments, you can proceed to the courtyard to meet with Corey. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. By the looks of it, Corey is still shaken by the kidnapping.

Your friend won’t be sure what’s worse, the kidnapping or finding out your father is the leader of ‘R’. You have two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Shortly after, the two of you will get to catch up on everything that happened recently. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Corey and your character. Focusing on those actions should save you some energy.

After hearing about the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, Corey will ask if you think she is suspicious. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t heavily affect the story, so feel free to go with either option.

There is also the matter of Merula. Corey will suggest telling the Circle that Merula is an agent of ‘R’. There are two options to choose from. This choice will take effect later on. If you like Corey, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you like Merula, you should pick the second option.

Moments later, an owl will deliver a message for you.

The message will be from Jacob. Upon reading it, you’ll learn that your father wants to meet both of you at the Leaky Cauldron for a family dinner.

You will need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Go to the Leaky Cauldron once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say. Your father will be very glad to see you and Jacob. He’ll say that your brother hasn’t aged a day over twenty. Jacob will explain why that’s the case.

You will be curious to know why he didn’t do anything to stop Rakepick. Peregrine will explain that she was always slipping away. In any case, he’ll be glad that both you and your brother are safe. He’ll even make a dad joke.

You’ll wonder why he wanted to see you, and your father will simply say he wanted to have a family dinner.

You’ll figure out that he wants to talk about something more important than dinner. Much to your surprise, Peregrine will ask you about your day at school. If you want to be nice to him, it is recommended to pick the first or second option.

Jacob won’t be too happy with all of the small talk. Peregrine will figure out that your brother still has the attitude of a rebellious teenager.

Shortly after, you will get to hear your father’s explanation. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete this task. All five stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are two bonus progress actions tied to Jacob. Prioritizing those actions should save you some energy.

According to your father, Jacob is jealous of you, especially since he wants you to lead ‘R’ one day.

Peregrine will ask if you think you are the favorite child. If you like Peregrine, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Regardless of your choice, Jacob and you will get into an argument. Suddenly, your brother will figure out why Peregrine wanted that in the first place.

Your father will deny it and say that he loves both you and Jacob equally.

Your brother will have a hard time believing that. Peregrine will admit that he wasn’t the best dad. Still, he will be happy that you and Jacob agreed to have dinner with him. He will look forward to more family dinners. There are two options for you to reply with. If you want to give your father a chance, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Regardless of your choice, Jacob will get angry at your father, and moments later, he will leave the place.

You will prepare to leave as well, but before you do, Peregrine will remind you of his offer to join ‘R’. He’ll be quite confident that you can do a lot of good with them. However, you won’t be ready to make that decision yet. You’ll decide to go after Jacob and prevent him from doing anything stupid. Thankfully, your father won’t push you to decide immediately.

Not long after that, you will leave the place and follow Jacob to Diagon Alley. Once you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Luckily, you will find Jacob in Diagon Alley. After asking if he is all right, you will notice that he is still upset about the meeting with Peregrine.

He’ll admit he doesn’t trust him at all. Jacob will apologize to you for storming out earlier. There are two options to reply with. It is recommended to pick the second option here.

In any case, your brother won’t feel like talking about Peregrine anymore. Instead, the two of you will talk about the new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor. Needless to say, Jacob will be quite surprised once you tell him Olivia Green is the new professor.

He’ll describe Olivia to you so he can be sure you are talking about the same person.

You will ask Jacob to tell you more about her. Learning about Olivia Green is your next task. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass. Because of that, it is not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it if you are looking to save some energy.

You’ll learn that Jacob and Olivia used to be close. According to him, she liked Duncan.

In any case, you’ll be determined to investigate if it is all just a coincidence or not. Suddenly, Jacob will spot Ben heading towards Flourish and Blotts.

You’ll decide to catch up with him. Before leaving, you’ll ask Jacob if he is going to be all right. He’ll tell you he simply needs some time to think.

Go to Flourish and Blotts when you are ready to continue. When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters. Ben will be quite surprised to see you.

He’ll ask why you came to Flourish and Blotts. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

You will learn that Ben is studying for the N.E.W.T.s, which is one of the reasons he came to Flourish and Blotts. The other reason is that the bookstore reminds him of Rowan. You’ll tell him you met Rowan for the first time just outside the store. The choice you made all the way back in Chapter 1 of Year 1 will take effect here.

Both you and Ben will say that you miss Rowan. Still, the memory of your friend will live on. Ben will agree with you and suggest taking the time to reminisce about Rowan. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. Three stars are needed to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Focusing on it should save you a bit of energy.

Ben will say that he owes his life to Rowan. You’ll add that the Circle of Khanna is a tribute to your late friend.

Ben will be determined to take down ‘R’. He’ll be quite sure that will be possible once he figures out who their leader is.

Suddenly, you will start feeling uncomfortable. You’ll ask Ben what he would do if he was to find out who the leader of ‘R’ is. He’ll tell you he would bring the leader of ‘R’ to justice. He will ask if you agree with him. There are three options to reply with. If you want to give your father a chance, it is recommended to pick the first or the third option.

You will thank Ben for talking about Rowan with you. After considering it for a moment, you will decide to reunite the Circle of Khanna.

You will need to wait four hours before you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out. That way, your energy will recharge in the meantime.

Head to the courtyard once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. You will thank everyone for coming to the meeting.

Penny will suggest waiting for Merula to arrive. She’ll wonder if she’s back at Hogwarts. Ismelda will say that she’s definitely back.

In any case, you’ll decide to start without Merula. You will tell them you weren’t telling the truth about Corey’s absence. This is where the choice you made in the previous chapter will take effect.

Jae will say that he knew something was going on. You’ll then say that Corey was kidnapped by ‘R’. If you decided to tell the Circle about Merula’s involvement, you will mention it here. If you decided to keep it a secret, Corey will tell everyone about it.

Needless to say, your friends will be shocked to hear that. Ismelda will ask if you are planning to go after Merula. You’ll say there is something more important the Circle needs to take care of and that something is the new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.

Informing the Circle about Olivia Green is your next task. To complete it, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Tulip, Diego, and Liz. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

Your friends will agree that Olivia appearing shortly after Corey’s kidnapping is suspicious. In any case, you will need to do some investigating and see if there is any connection between her and ‘R’.

You’ll decide to talk to Professor Sikander and find out if he knows what Olivia is doing outside classes.

This will conclude Chapter 41 of Year 7. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 350 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
