Chapter 44 – The Memory Heist

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Forty-Four of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you talked to your friends and convinced them that you are still on their side. After that, you went to see Professor Dumbledore and were surprised to find your father in his office.

The Headmaster told you some things about Peregrine’s student days, and later on, you and your father went to Hogsmeade. After spending some time with him, you went back to Hogwarts. Olivia found you in the courtyard, and you learned there is something wrong with her memory.

Walkthrough

You decided to investigate it, but before that, you should get the lessons and the assignments out of the way. Proceed to the Muggles Studies classroom when you are ready. To unlock the Blender lesson, you need to earn a total of nine stars from Muggle Studies classes. Pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.

As always, prioritize the bonus progress actions to save energy.

Completing the mini-tasks successfully will grant you some extra Empathy points.

Head back to the classroom once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson. To complete the Blender lesson, you need to obtain five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Follow the same steps you took during the previous classes and you’ll be done before you know it.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You’ll earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the Muggle Studies section of your Hogwarts Record.

Go to the courtyard when you are ready to start the assignment. Madam Pince will inform you that several books are missing from the library. It will be up to you to find and return them.

You’ll need to finish several tasks to complete the assignment. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these tasks, make sure to select the duration that matches their star requirements.

Prioritize the bonus progress actions to save energy.

Try to complete all of the mini-tasks successfully to earn some additional attribute points.

Once you are done, hit the Collect button and return to the courtyard. Madam Pince will be pleased with your work.

You’ll earn a reward for completing the assignment.

Now that you’re done with lessons and assignments, you can go to the Training Grounds to continue the story. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. You’ll thank everyone for coming and say that you want to update them on your investigation into Professor Green.

Ben will interrupt you before you get to say anything. Apparently, he won’t be happy with the fact that your father is the leader of ‘R’. He will assume that you are trying to dodge dealing with that fact. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Sadly, regardless of the option you pick, Ben will have trouble believing you.

Liz will quickly defend you before things escalate.

You’ll say it is incredibly important to find out the truth about Olivia’s memories, then tell them about your conversation with Professor Green.

You’ll also tell them about what Rakepick said during your encounter with her in Azkaban.

Ben will wonder who could’ve tampered with Olivia’s memories. There are three options to reply with. Since there is no way of telling who it was at this point, feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

In any case, you will need to get the vials in order to find the truth, so you will need to break into Olivia’s office again. You’ll also need a proper distraction to keep her occupied while you’re getting the vials, so you will suggest brainstorming a few ideas.

Brainstorming distractions is your next task. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete it. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Liz and your character. Prioritize them to save energy.

In the end, you will decide to release Tim, the Wampus Cat in the courtyard. That should keep Olivia busy long enough for you to search her office.

You’ll suggest visiting Tim first.

Go to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you’ll notice Tim sleeping soundly.

Liz will find him completely adorable. She’ll ask if you agree with her. There are three options to reply with. If you like Liz, it is recommended to pick the first option.

You will need to come up with a plan to lure Tim to the courtyard. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Barnaby and your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.

You’ll recall using a Niffler as bait when you needed to lure Tim out of hiding, but letting a Niffler run loose isn’t the best idea. However, if one of your friends was to control the Niffler, the plan could work.

You will get to choose which one of them will hold the Niffler. This choice will take effect later on, but it won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Moments later, Liz will wake Tim up.

You’ll need to wait four hours before you can proceed. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom once the waiting time is over. Tulip will ask you if everything went according to plan.

Moments later, she’ll get her answer.

You will quickly remove the painting and take the chest.

Tulip will wonder what kinds of memories the vials contain. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Suddenly, Jae will rush to you and say that the coast is not clear; moments later, Olivia will enter her office, needless to say, and she won’t be happy to see you.

She’ll ask you to explain yourself. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Olivia and your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Olivia will ask you about the box of vials.

You’ll tell her that it most likely contains her memories, but she will find that hard to believe as you explain that someone probably tampered with her memory, yet sadly, she won’t believe you. There are three options to convince her. If you like Olivia, it is recommended to avoid picking the third option.

Olivia will decide to take you and your friends straight to the Headmaster’s office.

Go to Dumbledore’s office when you are ready. Olivia will tell the Headmaster that you and your friends broke into her office.

He’ll wonder if it has anything to do with the Wampus Cat that was released in the courtyard. You will notice the friend you chose to carry the Niffler standing nearby.

Luckily, Professor Green used the Sleeping Charm on Tim before anything bad happened, and you’ll tell Professor Dumbledore you were only trying to retrieve Olivia’s memories, surprising him, as you explain about the box you found.

Dumbledore will ask Olivia if you are telling the truth. Your previous choice will take effect here.

As it seems, you might be in big trouble this time.

Professor Dumbledore will say that you remind him of your father.

You’ll tell him you want to ask him something.

Unfortunately, your question will have to wait. Needless to say, Professor Dumbledore won’t be happy with your actions.

He’ll even consider expulsion for you and your friends.

Thankfully, he will allow you to plead your case. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to the Headmaster and the friend you chose to carry the Niffler. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

After taking everything into consideration, Professor Dumbledore will decide not to expel you. However, that doesn’t mean you are completely off the hook.

The Headmaster will decide to inform everyone’s parents about the incident.

He will wonder if there’s any particular reason for that. There are two options to reply with. It is recommended to pick the second option here.

By the looks of it, you and your friends will be serving detention.

On top of that, Professor Dumbledore will ask you to promise not to break any more rules, and he’ll also tell Olivia she can feel free to use his Pensieve at any time.

She’ll tell him she needs some time to process everything.

As for the box, the Headmaster will decide to keep it in his office and say that you and your friends are free to leave. Before you go, Olivia will ask for a moment of your time, telling you to meet her in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom later.

You will need to wait three hours before you can continue. It is recommended to wait until this timer expires. That way, your energy will recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom once the waiting time is over. You’ll promise not to break into Olivia’s office again.

Olivia will admit that something’s wrong with her memories. The choice you made while talking to her earlier will take effect here.

She’ll ask if you know anything about memory tampering. If you completed Flying Solo adventure, you’ll get an additional line of dialogue here.

Olivia will say that creating new memories is much more difficult than erasing existing ones. She’ll admit she is afraid of looking at the memories you found. There are three options for you to reply with. If you want to comfort Olivia, it is recommended to pick the first option.

In any case, viewing the memories is the only way to find out the truth. Still, Olivia will be hesitant to do it, so you’ll need to convince her. Convincing Olivia requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Olivia and one of the dark artifacts. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

When you are done, Olivia will still be hesitant to view the memories. There are three options to convince her to change her mind. This is one of the rare opportunities to talk about Rowan, so you might want to consider picking the second option here.

In the end, Olivia will agree to view the memories. She will, however, need some time to prepare.

You’ll decide to visit Jacob in the meantime and fill him in on the recent events.
