Chapter 45 – The Fallout

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Forty-Five of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, you met with your friends and decided to break into Olivia’s office once again. This time, you used the Wampus Cat, Tim, as a distraction. Unfortunately, your plan didn’t work the way you hoped for, and Olivia caught you searching through her office.

She took you straight to the Headmaster, and you nearly got expelled for what you did. In the end, Olivia agreed to look through the memories, but she will need some time to prepare. In the meantime, you can meet with Jacob and tell him about what happened.

But first, you should get the lessons and assignments out of the way, so head to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready. To unlock the Dugbog lesson, you need to earn a total of nine stars from the Care of Magical Creatures. Feel free to pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start when you are ready to begin.

While doing these classes, prioritize the actions with bonus progress to save energy.

Also, focus on successfully completing the mini-tasks to earn some extra Courage points.

Go back to the Care of Magical Creatures once you obtain enough stars to unlock the lesson. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete the Dugbog lesson. All five stars are required to pass.

During the lesson, Professor Kettleburn will ask you a question about Dugbogs.

Once you earn the fifth star, you will be tasked with feeding the creature. Trace the path on the screen to do so.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can collect it in the Care of Magical Creatures section of your Hogwarts Record.

Go to the courtyard when you are ready to start the assignment. By the looks of it, you and Penny will be assisting Professor Snape.

You’ll need to complete several tasks to finish the assignment. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

While doing these tasks, it is recommended to pick the duration that matches their star requirements.

Make sure to prioritize the bonus progress actions to save energy.

Try your best to do all the mini-tasks. This will earn you some additional attribute points.

Hit the Collect button and return to the courtyard once you finish all the tasks.

Interestingly enough, Snape will congratulate you on a job well done.

You will receive a reward for completing the assignment.

Now that you’re done with lessons and assignments, you can proceed to the lakeshore to meet with Jacob. Once you arrive, you will take out your wand and cast Vermillious.

Moments later, Jacob will arrive.

You’ll get to fill him in on the recent events. To update Jacob, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Jacob will be quite surprised once you tell him everything that’s happened recently.

He will ask if you’ve told Professor Dumbledore about your father, and you’ll say that you haven’t, adding that Merula was the one who told the Circle that your father is the leader of ‘R’. Jacob will then remind you that he doesn’t trust Merula and mention that Peregrine wants to have dinner again, expressing his determination to be civil in order to get some answers.

He will wonder if you are doubting him. There are two options to reply with. If you like Jacob, it is recommended to pick the second option.

Moments later, you and your brother will leave the place.

Go to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. Peregrine will be glad to see you and your brother.

You’ll say that Jacob promised not to storm off.

Interestingly enough, your father won’t hold it against him. He’ll then mention the letter he received from Professor Dumbledore. He will ask if there is anything you’d like to say about it. There are two options to reply with. There is no point in avoiding the topic, which is why you should pick the first option and admit you got into trouble.

Your father will want to know why you broke into Olivia’s office, but you’ll be unsure if you should tell him about it. Peregrine will say that he cannot help you unless you tell him what’s going on, with Jacob advising you to tell him the truth. In the end, you will agree to do so. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Jacob. Prioritize them to save energy.

Your father will have a strong reaction after hearing that someone tampered with your professor’s memories.

Thanks to Jacob’s intervention, he’ll snap out of it. He’ll apologize for getting carried away.

He will be glad that you are trying to uncover the truth, with Jacob recalling the time when your father used to tell him about his adventures. Peregrine will be pretty sure your brother has quite a few stories of his own, and he’ll look forward to hearing about Jacob’s adventures.

You will notice that your brother is smiling. There are two options to react to this. It is somewhat recommended to pick the second option here.

Peregrine will be glad he got to spend some time with his kids, and this time, Jacob didn’t storm off. The choice you made while talking to your brother at the lakeshore will take effect here.

Shortly after, you’ll decide to head back to Hogwarts. As for Jacob, he’ll stay with Peregrine for a bit longer.

Moments later, you will leave the place. You’ll need to wait three hours before you can continue. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to the Great Hall once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends. You will notice the worried look on Charlie’s face.

Chiara and Talbott will fill you in.

After a bit of small talk, Chiara will tell you they are wondering about the future of the Circle of Khanna, and you’ll be happy to discuss it with them. Discussing the Circle requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Liz, Talbott, and Chiara. Focus on those actions to save energy.

You and your friends will agree to put the Olivia Green investigation on hold until she views the memories, and then Charlie will suggest talking about Merula, while Talbott will get straight to the point and ask if she should be banned from the Circle. There are two options to reply with. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option.

You’ll suggest putting it to a vote for the entire Circle of Khanna to decide whether Merula stays or goes, while Chiara will advocate for giving Merula a chance to speak, but Talbott won’t agree with her, and Charlie will be quite sure there is nothing Merula can say to sway the vote in her favor, leaving you to be the one to inform Merula about the impending vote.

Moments later, you will leave the Great Hall to look for Merula. Go to the Grand Staircase when you are ready to continue. You’ll approach Merula and ask for a moment of her time.

She won’t seem particularly happy to see you, but you’ll get straight to the point and tell her about the impending vote.

She will remind you that she is a founding member of the Circle. If you are dating Merula, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

You will tell her there is a chance she won’t be kicked out. She’ll wonder why you even bothered to tell her. There are two options to reply with. If you like Merula, or if you are dating her, it is highly recommended to pick the second option here.

Once again, you’ll get some additional lines of dialogue if you are dating Merula.

You will tell her she is going to get the chance to explain herself.

Following that, you’ll ask if her aunt forced her to join ‘R’, but Merula will refuse to answer your question. There are two options to reply with. If you like Merula, or if you are dating her, it is recommended to pick the second option.

You’ll then ask Merula if she even wants to be in the Circle of Khanna and she’ll say that she does. She will also say that the Circle is all she has. If you are dating Merula, she’ll make it clear she cares about you.

You will ask her about Verucca, and she’ll respond by saying that her aunt doesn’t care about her.

You will find that odd, but Merula will tell you that she made an Unbreakable Vow with Verucca.

You’ll ask her to tell you about it. Learning about Merula’s Vow is your next task. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete it. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Merula. Focus on those actions to save energy.

By the looks of it, Merula was forced to work for ‘R’.

Her aunt offered to help her get revenge on Rakepick, and she accepted it.

You’ll realize she lied to you when you talked about it, but unfortunately, Merula couldn’t tell you the truth until you met the leader of ‘R’. She will admit that she made a mistake.

Shortly after, she’ll be ready to face the Circle. You will need to wait four hours before you can continue. Once again, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.

Head to the training grounds once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say. Before approaching the others, you will ask Merula how much she is going to reveal about her Unbreakable Vow.

Apparently, she is planning to reveal everything. You will notice she is worried about informing the others about the Unbreakable Vow. There are two options for you to reply with. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Moments later, you will approach the others and thank them for gathering. You’ll say a few words about the meeting.

The following lines will differ depending on your previous choice. In both cases, the Circle will be informed about Merula’s Unbreakable Vow.

Everyone will react differently upon hearing that.

Not long after that, the voting will begin. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to your characters, Chiara, Corey, and Ben. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

In the end, Victor, Badeea, Penny, and Cedric will abstain from the vote. Liz, Diego, Barnaby, Ismelda, Beatrice, Jae, Tulip, and Chiara will vote to keep Merula in the Circle.

Corey, Talbott, Ben, Fred, George, Charlie, Tonks, and Andre will vote to ban Merula from the Circle.

In the end, the decision will come down to you. You can choose whether you want to ban or keep Merula. If you like Merula, or if you are dating her, it is HIGHLY recommended to keep her in the Circle.

If you choose to keep Merula, she’ll let out a sigh of relief, and you will explain why you decided to keep her. She will genuinely thank you for that. If you decide to ban her, she will leave the place without saying a word.

Also, if you decide to keep Merula, she won’t be attending any important meetings from now on. That way, she won’t be forced to share information with her aunt.

In any case, you’ll hope you made the right decision.
