Chapter 50 – Turning Point

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Fifty of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, Elton Elderberry told you that he was a member of the Task Force, sent by an International Confederation of Wizards, with the objective of capturing Ryusaki. Elton remembered, in deep regret, that Ryusaki was innocent and the entire action was a miscommunication.

After chatting with Elton, you decided to speak with your father, hoping to change your father’s perspective on ‘R’. Unfortunately, your father was skeptical about your story. While he was leaving, he dropped a strange amulet. He picked it up quickly, without saying a word. You recognized that Ryusaki was wearing the same amulet in his portraits. You decided to check the Archives for more clues. Elton explained that the Ryusaki amulet was taken by the Ministry because it had a curse to turn its wearers into dark wizards/witches.

You decided to meet a muggle artifacts expert Arthur Weasly. Mr. Weasly informed you that there is no way to know if a muggle object is cursed or not without interacting with it, which is not safe. He suggested that you meet a curse expert in the Ministry All-Purpose Room. Once you arrived, you found out that this Curse Expert is Callum McClintock you met previously. He explained that the objects can be cursed even by accident because of the strong negative emotions of the caster.

You can start the chapter by doing new lessons and assignments. Go to the Muggle Studies classroom when you are ready to start a lesson. To unlock the Flight lesson, you need to earn nine stars from Muggle Studies classes. Pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.

To save energy, it is recommended to prioritize bonus progress actions.

Try to successfully complete all the mini-tasks to earn extra Empathy points.

Return to the Muggle Studies classroom when you have enough stars to start the Flight lesson. To complete the Flight lesson you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Treat this lesson just like the classes you had before, to save some energy and earn extra Empathy points.

When you’re done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can claim an additional reward in the Muggle Studies section of your Hogwarts Record.

Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to start the assignment. Professor McGonagall will tell you that Professor Kettleburn suffered a terrible injury, and will be unable to resume his duties. You will accept to take over some of his duties until he recovers.

You will have to do several tasks to complete the assignment. Feel free to do them in any order you prefer.

It is recommended to select the task duration that matches its star requirements.

As usual, focus on actions that will give you bonus progress, so you can save energy.

Try to complete all of the mini-tasks successfully to gain some extra attribute points.

When you finish all of the tasks, hit the collect button and go back to the Clocktower Courtyard.

Professor McGonagall will praise your results, and she’ll inform you that Professor Kettleburn is much better. He should be back to teaching momentarily.

You will earn a reward for completing the assignment, in the Hogwarts section of the assignments.

Now that you’re done with the lessons and assignments, you can continue with the story.

Go to the Lakeshore when you are ready to talk to Jacob. Jacob will be glad to see you again, and he will ask you where you researched Dai Ryusaki. When you mention that you researched at the Ministry of Magic’s Archives, he will look at you skeptically.

You’ll then get to tell him more. To tell Jacob what you’ve learned, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it to save some energy.

You will explain to Jacob that your dad might be cursed because of the Ryusaki’s amulet. Jacob will not believe you, thinking that Dad is the same as he’s always been.

He will even suspect that you are just looking for a reason to make Father seem like a bad guy. There are three options to reply with. Jacob will react best if you pick the first option, so if you don’t want to argue with him, you should consider picking this option.

Jacob will think that the best course of action is to speak to Peregrine and take a look at his amulet. If the amulet is cursed, both of you should sense the Dark magic.

You will agree with this plan, but you need to wait three hours before speaking to your father.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Three Broomsticks to meet your father. Once you arrive at the Three Broomsticks, you can interact with the characters there by tapping on the speech bubbles above their heads. As soon as you join him at the table, your father will say that he already knows why you came, and he will mention it. Needless to say, you were not expecting that.

Jacob will say that he may have mentioned your concerns when he messaged Peregrine. You will be surprised by this, and you will have three options on how to react. If you wish to get along with Jacob, you should pick the third option.

You will point out again, now directly to Peregrine, that he may be cursed and that he even refers to Ryusaki’s Dark Scroll as his, which is unusual for him. Both your father and brother will laugh at you. Peregrine will deny that the amulet is cursed, and he will start explaining how he obtained it.

To hear the entire dad’s story, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Actions with bonus progress here are tied to your father and your character. Prioritize those to save some energy.

Peregrine will reassure you that the amulet is not cursed. He carefully examines any artifact he finds, including this amulet, and he carries it only because it is the first Ryusaki artifact he ever found. He will give the amulet to Jacob and you, and neither of you will sense any Dark magic from it.

Father will reassure you that he would never take a cursed object because he doesn’t wish to endanger you and Jacob. He will be pleased that you talked about it, and he will remind you again that you should join ‘R’. You will be surprised to learn that Jacob has already rejoined.

After the meeting, go back to Hogwarts and enter the Main Hall for the next task. Once you arrive, you may tap on the speech bubbles above characters to check what they’re up to. Swipe the screen to the left so you can make sure you see all the speech bubbles.

When you sit down with your friends, they will talk about how they are nervous because the end of the final year is getting closer, as well as N.E.W.T. exams. Friends will notice that you are worried because of your brother. You and your friends will try to figure out why Jacob rejoined ‘R’. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Action with bonus progress will be tied to Barnaby, so if you wish to save some energy, prioritize his actions.

Barnaby will think the reason Jacob rejoined ‘R’ is to finally reunite with his father. Tulip will think that Jacob hates the corruption in the Ministry and wants to fight it by joining ‘R’.

Chiara will ask what you would do if you were in Jacob’s position. You may agree with Barnaby or Tulip, or you can be unconvinced about the argument because, still, Jacob’s decision doesn’t make sense after what ‘R’ has done. Feel free to choose the option you like, because this choice won’t make any significant impact.

Chiara will tell you that the only way to be sure of Jacob’s motivation is to ask him yourself. Before you talk with your brother, you need to wait four hours.

Once the waiting time is over, go to Lakeshore to meet Jacob. When you are there, you will cast Vermillious to summon Jacob.

You will try to guess why he rejoined ‘R’ based on your choice in the previous task. None of the choices are fully correct, so Jacob will explain the reason.

To learn Jacob’s reason, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Actions with bonus progress are tied to a boat and your brother. Prioritize these actions to save a bit of energy.

Jacob will explain that the Ministry is not doing its job because some of the Death Eaters escaped punishment. If the Ministry is not doing its job, someone else has to. He will remind you that Madam Umbridge used the forbidden Verisaterum, which further proves the ministry’s corruption.

Your brother will ask if you agree that the Ministry is corrupt. If you wish to be on good terms with Jacob, it is recommended to choose the first option.

Jacob will mention that the ‘R’ will soon test the device for mind control, and he will be the Legilimens volunteer.

Moments later, he will apparate away. You will decide to warn the Ministry as soon as possible. This will be the end of Chapter 50 of Year 7. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 2000 Experience Points and 350 Coins.
