Chapter 56 – Who, When, Where

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Fifty-Six of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you informed Professor Dumbledore about everything that happened. Luckily, he didn’t punish you.

You’ve heard from Merula that Verucca has suspicions that you double-crossed her and that both she and the Ministry will race to catch your dad first. After that, you reassured and motivated your brother in the hospital. Later, your friend convinced you to ask for help from your friends in the Circle of Khana. Lastly, you met with your father. He told you that you can’t be initiated into the ‘R’ organization anymore, that ‘R’ has different plans now, and that he met you for the last time.

Before continuing the story, you can first finish your assignments. When you are ready, go to the Clocktower Courtyard. You will meet Ben. He will be determined that you need last-minute training before the next big fight.

Feel free to do the tasks in any order you like.

It is recommended to select the task duration that matches its star requirements.

Prioritize actions with bonus progress, so you can save some energy.

Try to succeed in mini-tasks to earn extra attribute points.

When you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and go back to the Clocktower Courtyard.

Ben will praise your skills. Although you will feel pressure because you will have to fight your dad and ‘R’, Ben will be confident that you are ready.

After you completed all the tasks of this set of assignments, you can claim the reward in Hogwarts’s section of the Assignments.

Afterward, you can start with another assignment. Go to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet Professor Dumbledore. Professor Dumbledore will inform you that it’s time to continue with the Teacher Appreciation project. He would like you to report on Professor McGonagall this time.

You will have another set of tasks to complete. Feel free to do them in any order you like.

As always, it is recommended to select the task duration that matches its star requirements.

Mini-tasks can give you some extra attribute points if you complete them successfully.

When you complete all of the tasks, hit the Collect button and report back to Professor Dumbledore at the Clocktower Courtyard.

You will tell Dumbledore what you’ve learned about Professor McGonagall. You’ll tell him that she is an Animagus, a former Quidditch star, and that she has always been well-liked wherever she’s gone.

Professor Dumbledore will add that she always made friends easily. He’ll also mention that she can be very competitive. You will figure out that this is the reason why Dumbledore brought her to Hogwarts, and you’ll be right about it.

The professor will be pleased with your report. Don’t forget to claim the reward for this assignment as well, in the Hogwarts section of the Assignments.

Once you complete all the assignments, you can continue with the main story. When you are ready, go to the Training Grounds to meet with the Circle of Khana. Upon arriving, you can check what your friends have to say by tapping the speech bubbles above their heads.

The members of the circle will gather around you, and you will thank them for coming. You will notice that Merula is absent. Ben will tell you that they couldn’t find her.

You’ll decide to continue with the meeting without her. You will warn them that what you have to say will affect everybody.

To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Penny, Talbott, Barnaby, and your character. Swipe the screen left and right to see all the available options.

You will update the Circle of Khana on what happened so far.

You’ll say that you want to separate your Dad from Dai Ryusaki’s amulet to dissolve ‘R’ and stop the curse.

Ben will understand your reasoning, especially since ‘R’ has a new mysterious plan in the works. You will agree with Ben, and you will ask the Circle of Khana for help before ‘R’ hurts anyone else. The members will start thinking about it.

Ben will confirm that you have support from the Circle.

He will ask you what’s the most important thing to know about what’s ahead of them. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story. If you like your friends from the Circle, it is recommended to pick the third option.

Because you don’t know any information about ‘R” ‘s plan except that it will be executed soon, you’ll decide to seek advice from Aurors and Mad-Eye.

Before you continue, you’ll have a waiting time of four hours.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Hog’s Head Inn to continue the story. Once you are there, you can check what visitors to the inn have to say. You can do this by tapping the speech bubbles around their heads. Swipe the screen left and right to check all the speech bubbles.

You will ask Mad-Eye why he wanted to meet at the Hog’s Head Inn instead of the Ministry. He’ll explain that things are heating up at the Magical Law Enforcement Department, and he can’t let you interfere with the Ministry’s work.

He will recall that you mentioned your father in the letter. He’ll remind you that you should forget your father and focus on Jacob. You can reply to Mad-Eye in three different ways. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

Whatever you choose, Mad-Eye will be unwilling to share any information with you because you are too close to the case. You will try to convince him to open up. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost.

Below are the questions and answers to them.

• Are you going to tell your father? – No, of course not. (Knowledge)
• Why do you want to know? – I want to help you. (Courage)
• Will you tell Verucca or Merula? – I won’t tell them. (Knowledge)
• This info has to remain secret. – I won’t tell anyone about it! (Knowledge)
• How do I know I can trust you? – You’ve known me for years! (Knowledge)
• What will you do with the info? – I’ll keep Jacob updated. (Empathy)

Hit the Collect button after you complete the task.

Mad-Eye will tell you that there is good news and bad news surrounding your father’s case. The good news is that ‘R’ isn’t targeting you or Jacob anymore.

The bad news is that ‘R’ is targeting older, more experienced Legilimens to enable their mind control operation. Aurors don’t know who that might be or when and where ‘R’ will strike.

Once Aurors find out who the ‘R”s target is, they will capture Verucca and your father, dead or alive.

You will tell Mad-Eye that Professor Dumbledore will do anything to save your Dad. He will say that your Headmaster is away on official business to help his friend. Mad-Eye will warn you one more time to not get involved because you may get injured like Jacob.

Without Dumbledore, you will realize that you are the only one who can help your Dad.

You will recall that you have an important clue from Mad-Eye, at least. The ‘R’ is targeting experienced Legilimens. You will decide to tell Jacob what you’ve learned.

Go to the Patient Room at St. Mungo’s Hospital to continue with the story. Once you are there, you will be surprised to see Merula.

You will wonder what she is doing there. Merula will tell you that she was simply visiting Jacob. You can reply in two different ways. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the second option.

She’ll admit that she came to visit because what her aunt did has been weighing heavily on her. She’ll feel guilty because she brought you Aunt Verucca’s invitation.

You will reassure Merula that if she didn’t, she would be killed because of the Unbreakable Vow. You will ask her how she got into the room because Madam Strout allows only family members to visit Jacob.

She will say that she lied to her. She told Madam Strout that she is a distant cousin of Jacob. You can react to this in two different ways, and if you like Merula, the second option is a better choice. If you are dating Merula, you will get additional lines of dialogue.

Shortly after, you will ask Merula if she has decided on her next move. She will remind you that, even if she has one, she shouldn’t tell you. She’ll mention that the only move now is to meet her aunt to crush some anniversary parties.

You will find this information very odd since Verucca is in hiding.

Merula will exit the room. You will start talking with Jacob about what’s happening. To update Jacob, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. It is recommended to start this task with a full energy bar.

There will be plenty of actions with bonus progress tied to both Jacob and your character, but Jacob will have more of these actions. Prioritize his actions to save as much energy as possible.

You will ask Jacob if he knows anyone who is Legilimens as well. Jacob will point out that you said Professor Dumbledore is away on business. You will recall that he is a Legilimens, as well as Professor Snape.

You and Jacob will conclude that ‘R’ is probably planning to attack Hogwarts. Your father most likely doesn’t know about Dumbledore’s trip.

Now that you have the ‘who’ and the ‘where’ parts of Dad’s plan, the only piece missing is the ‘when’. You will feel pressure because you need to find all the information before Mad-Eye and Verucca.

Jacob will ask you if you are nervous because you want to save Dad. You will point out that Verucca seeks revenge on him, while Aurors want to take him dead or alive. Jacob will be skeptical about whether he can be saved. He’ll also think that maybe he deserves punishment.

Jacob will tell you that he is sure that when the time comes, you will make the right decision.

You will decide to visit Elton Elderberry in the Ministry next. Before you continue, you’ll have a waiting time of three hours.

Once the waiting time is over, go to the Ministry All-Purpose Room. Once you are there, you will meet Elton and, surprisingly enough, Olivia. You will ask her why she paid a visit to Elton. She will tell you that she heard from Professor Dumbledore about what happened at Knockturn Alley, and now she was just relaying it to Elton.

Elton will admire your bravery and he will offer his help if you need it.

Olivia will ask you how Jacob is doing. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the overall story, so feel free to choose the option you like.

After chatting with Olivia, you will ask Mr. Elderberry if he knows about any important anniversaries that are coming up that are related to Dai Ryusaki.

Elton will gladly help you. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Mr. Elderberry. Prioritize his actions to a bit of energy.

The information about the date of Ryusaki’s death will catch your attention.

Elton will confirm the date and he’ll point out that it will be exactly three-hundred years since his death on that day. You will recall what Merula said about the anniversary party.

Now you know all the information you need to stop your Dad. You will decide to gather your friends and make some final preparations.
