Christmas Spirits Part 2
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for the Christmas Spirits Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery! In the previous part, the Christmas spirit at Hogwarts was thrown into jeopardy when Sir Nicholas mysteriously went missing. As concern spread among the students and staff, it became clear that his disappearance could lead to the cancellation of the Christmas celebrations altogether.
Determined to help, you began investigating his whereabouts, speaking with Penny, Ben, and eventually the Bloody Baron. Through these conversations, you uncovered that Sir Nicholas had withdrawn after an argument about whether Christmas was meant only for the living. Feeling hurt and foolish, he secluded himself in the Artefact Room, doubting his place in the holiday festivities.
With your encouragement and understanding, Sir Nicholas regained his confidence and came up with a hopeful idea—bringing ghosts and the living together to celebrate Christmas as one. While he set out to speak with the other Hogwarts ghosts, you agreed to help by reaching out to Professor Binns and Moaning Myrtle. Now, with a fragile plan in motion, the fate of Christmas at Hogwarts hangs in the balance as the next part of the adventure begins.

Proceed to the History of Magic Classroom when you are ready. If you have not met Professor Binns before, there will be a few additional lines of introductory dialogue. In any case, you will explain that you have heard the Bloody Baron is convincing the Hogwarts ghosts to sit out Christmas this year. You will add that everyone has the right to celebrate in their own way, of course, but that Sir Nicholas has come up with a special Christmas plan for the ghosts and asked you to see whether Professor Binns might be willing to join him.
Professor Binns will respond that you are quite right about the Baron, and that he and the Baron have already had a most wonderful discussion about sitting out the holiday this year. You will question how missing Christmas could be wonderful, at which point Professor Binns will begin to explain what truly matters to him when it comes to the holidays.
To learn what matters, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Binns. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

He will explain that he is far more interested in the traditions of the past than in the celebrations of the present. He intends to spend the Christmas season studying the stories and customs of Christmases long gone, though he will admit that he certainly misses mingling with the living, as he did during Christmases in the past.
You will then ask him if he is going to miss Christmas celebrations anyway, why he would not join you for Christmas now and study later. He will reply that, quite simply, the Baron believes modern celebrations are for the living, while old traditions belong to ghosts.
You will respond that past traditions are an important part of modern celebrations, and that while some customs have changed over time, many traditions have stayed exactly the same. He will admit that you make a good point, adding that you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and that he enjoys listening to you speak.
He will then ask what the most enjoyable part of modern Christmas celebrations is for you. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

In any case, he will say that you have constructed a very convincing argument, but that he is still not entirely convinced he would be happier anywhere other than here with his books and old traditions.
At that moment, you will get an idea and suggest that you could show him firsthand how old traditions are an important part of modern Christmas celebrations. He will gladly accept the idea, and you will decide not to wait any longer and set off right away.
Go to the Great Hall to continue the story. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.
When you enter the Great Hall, you will begin showing Professor Binns all the Christmas decorations. You will explain that even if the details have changed over time, the tradition of decorating itself has remained the same.
Candles were used as Christmas decorations as far back as the Middle Ages, and much of Christmas is still filled with old traditions. It is a bridge between the past and the present.
As you admire the decorations together, you will suggest that you take a moment to enjoy them side by side, allowing Professor Binns to see that Christmas has not changed nearly as much as he once thought.
To admire the decorations, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Bins. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Professor Binns will then add that the decorations are stunning and that he sees exactly what you mean. They are a bridge between the past and the present. The celebrations and culture of traditions you have today were passed down from those who came before, and honouring the past is one of the main things Christmas is about. The decorations are a large part of that. He will admit that he understands your point: while there are new additions, so many of the decorations clearly come from the past.
He will then ask what your favourite Christmas decoration is. There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

Professor Binns will then thank you and add that you have proven the Baron was quite wrong. He will say that he now believes there is some fun to be had in celebrating Christmas with the living this year. You will reply that this is wonderful news and that Sir Nick will be thrilled to hear it.
Binns will say that he will attend the celebration, and after that, you will decide to head off with Penny to speak to the next ghost, Moaning Myrtle.
Proceed to the Prefect Bathroom when you are ready. Depending on whether you have met Moaning Myrtle before, you may receive a few extra introductory lines. Regardless, after a brief exchange with Penny, Myrtle will soon appear and greet you.
You will explain that you have come to talk to her about Christmas, gently assuring her that you are not there to tease her, but because Sir Nick is genuinely concerned about her. You will mention that Sir Nick confided in you that she does not seem to be in the holiday spirit this year. With a sigh, Myrtle will admit that he is right.
She will say that she feels as far from festive as possible, and she will finally begin to share the reason why.
To hear Myrtle out, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Myrtle. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Myrtle believes that because she is a ghost, her life is quite literally over, while you will respond that she may be a ghost now, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a bright future.
Penny will add that there are plenty of ghosts who went on to do more with their unlife. Myrtle will then ask who is a good example of a ghost who’s done something of note after their death.
There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

She will understand the point and add that perhaps there are a few things to look forward to. You will then tell her that she already has something in her immediate future to look forward to: Christmas. Sir Nick has a big plan for the ghosts and the living to celebrate Christmas together this year. Myrtle will respond that it is nice of Sir Nick to think of poor Myrtle and that it is not at all what the Baron said.
She will add that maybe celebrating Christmas with everyone won’t be as miserable as she thought. You will ask her what the Baron told her, and she will say that he said no one wants to spend time with ghosts at Christmas because it’s too depressing. You will reply that that is not true at all and that Hogwarts students love their ghosts.
You will then decide it is time to speak with the Baron again to see why he has been intentionally trying to turn ghosts against Christmas.
Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. When you arrive at the Baron, you will explain that you have just spoken with Professor Binns and Myrtle about Christmas. The Baron will respond that he is fully aware of your meddling. You will clarify that your only intention was to spread Christmas cheer, but he will argue that he had finally convinced everyone how silly Christmas was, and your interference has undone all his efforts.
Curious, you will ask why he wants to turn the other ghosts against enjoying Christmas, and he will tell you to listen carefully as he shares his perspective.
To learn Baron’s position, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

The Baron explains that he has no interest in celebrating with the living because they are only around temporarily. Penny responds that this is ridiculous, reminding him that nothing lasts forever, while the Baron insists that ghosts endure, adding that he has been a ghost since the 11th century. At this point, it is up to you to choose whose side to take, though siding with Penny is recommended.

You’ll quickly realize that the Baron is very stubborn and difficult to convince that celebrating Christmas together is worthwhile, so a new approach will be needed. Penny will remark that it makes no sense since he mingles with the living all the time and that it’s his duty as Slytherin’s house ghost.
This will lead you to think in a new direction: as Slytherin’s house ghost, mingling with the living is indeed the Baron’s duty, and if he won’t listen to you, perhaps he’ll listen to the head of Slytherin house, Professor Snape. You’ll immediately decide to head to Snape to see if he can help.
Proceed to Snape’s Storeroom when you are ready. When you arrive, you will apologize to Professor Snape, and after briefly explaining how busy he is, he will ask what is so important that it cannot wait. You will add that you urgently need his help because Sir Nick wants the living and the ghosts to celebrate Christmas together, but the Bloody Baron refuses.
The Baron says that the living and the ghosts are too different and refuses to mingle. Snape will then say that the Baron is an important figure in Slytherin house and that the ghost’s presence is essential for attending to the living students, which poses a serious problem. After that, you will explain the entire situation to him in detail so he can understand the context.
To explain the situation, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character and the shelves. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

Professor Snape will then add that the Baron’s distaste for celebrating with the living is unacceptable. He will thank you for bringing it to his attention and explain that the Christmas celebrations are an important part of maintaining morale among the students at Hogwarts. He will continue that this is a suitably important matter and that you shall assist him in handling the Baron.
You will be quite surprised that Snape agrees to help so readily and will ask if Christmas is truly that important to him. He will reply, No and that the holiday silliness is of no concern to him. He will add that the Baron has a responsibility to Hogwarts and its students, which includes attending holiday festivities.
If the Baron is unfit to fulfill his duties or has fully abandoned the world of the living, Snape will find a new Slytherin ghost. You will ask if that means he intends to get rid of the Baron, and he will confirm that if the Baron fails to perform his duties, he will.
There are two options to choose from. If you like Bloody Baron, it is recommended to pick the first option.Â

Professor Snape will then ask you to accompany him to speak with the Baron. Depending on whether you are in Slytherin or not, the next location will differ: if you are in Slytherin, you will head to the Slytherin common room; if not, you will go to the Potions classroom to meet the Baron. In any case, the story will remain the same, with only a few lines of dialogue differing.
Go to the Potions Classroom to continue the story. When you arrive, Professor Snape will say that he is here to determine the Baron’s continued worth as the Slytherin house ghost. This line will differ based on your previous choice.

Then Snape will ask if it is true that the Baron’s connection to the world of the living is weakening. The Baron will admit that it is.
You will step in, adding that the Baron still cares for the Slytherin house, and suggest reminding him of all that you and Slytherin have accomplished. That way, he will remember that he cares more about the living than he realizes. Snape will add that you may try this approach, but if it fails, he fears that he and the Baron will have a very serious conversation.
To rekindle the Baron’s passion, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Professor Snape and your character. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You will tell the Baron that the Slytherin house and its living students are worth feeling proud of. Snape will agree with you, adding that friendships in the present and allegiances to houses should be celebrated.
The Baron will admit that he was wrong and begin to understand your point. He will then ask if, after everything he has done, you and the other ghosts really want him to join in the festivities this year.
There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Now that you have resolved such a major problem, it is time to go and share the good news with Nick and Penny.

This will mark the end of Part 2 of Christmas Spirits Adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.
With the Slytherin house ghost convinced to join in, the Hogwarts ghosts are ready to embrace the holiday spirit alongside the living. The air is filled with excitement and anticipation as friendships are strengthened, old traditions honored, and everyone looks forward to a magical Christmas celebration that bridges the past and the present.
Thank you for reading.
