Dumbledore’s Legacy Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of the Dumbledore’s Legacy Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!

In the previous part, you were assigned to do the research about Albus Dumbledore’s achievements and to present these achievements to the Daily Prophet correspondent. So far, you’ve interviewed Dumbledore and McGonagall, and you’ve studied Dumbledore’s history in the library. Your next focus is to interview the students on how Professor Dumbledore inspired their lives and future.

Summary

Walkthrough

At the beginning of Part 2, you’ll have a waiting time of one hour. Once the waiting time is over, go to the Great Hall to meet Ben and Andre for the interview about Dumbledore’s influence on their future. Luckily, they will be very eager to help you since they already have brilliant interactions with the Headmaster, and they are inspired by him.

To interview Ben and Andre, you’ll need to collect three stars within three hours.

Bonus progress actions will be tied to Ben and Andre. Prioritize actions tied to them to save some energy.

You’ll find out that Professor Dumbledore had a great impact on Andre and Ben, indeed. You will decide to mention their stories to the Daily Prophet.

Andre will ask whether Dumbledore inspired you. Feel free to choose the option that suits you best.

Ben will mention that Ismelda plans to tell the Daily Prophet correspondent some unflattering things about the Headmaster, thereby blemishing both Dumbledore’s and Hogwarts’ reputations. You’ll decide to find her in the Artefact Room and talk with her.

Go to the Artefact Room to continue the story and speak with Ismelda. She won’t be amused to see you, as usual. You will ask her if it’s true that she is planning to smear Dumbledore’s name.

She will ask you why you care. Choose any option you like.

Ismelda will mention that she learned some troubling facts you should know about the Headmaster.

To learn what Ismelda has to say, earn three stars within three hours.

There will be only one bonus action tied to Ismelda. Prioritize actions tied to her to save some energy.

You will find out that Ismelda found some so-called “facts” about Dumbledore from a high-class wizard in Hogsmeade. Ismelda will explain that the wizard sounded very confident, and she won’t reveal his name.

She will ask you if you would reconsider someone you looked up to before if you heard bad things about them. This choice won’t have a significant impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option that suits your character.

In the end, you will convince Ismelda not to bring this up to the Daily Prophet. Go to Hogsmeade and find this mysterious wizard who is spreading rumors.

In Hogsmeade, you will discover who this mysterious wizard is. It’s none other than Lucius Malfoy. His reaction to you will differ based on whether you have met before or not.

Lucius will assume you were the one elected to speak with the Daily Prophet correspondent, and he will provide you with his testimony on Dumbledore.

To hear out Lucius, you’ll need to earn three stars within eight hours. It is recommended to start this task when your energy bar is full.

Bonus progress actions are tied to the witch with the pointy hat, the wizard in the green jumper, and Lucius Malfoy. You can swipe the screen left and right to see all available actions.

Lucius will point out to the crowd that Dumbledore hides his incompetence and questionable values and undervalues the importance of wizarding pure-blood status.

Shortly after, Mr. Malfoy will ask you whether you understand the extent of Dumbledore’s flaws. This choice won’t have a major impact on the story, so feel free to choose the option you like. Even if you agree, your character will only partially agree and fundamentally disagree with Malfoy. If you completed Rowan’s Family Tree adventure before, Lucius will make more comments.

Shortly after, Lucius and the crowd will leave, and you will realize that Mr. Malfoy won’t stop spreading rumors. Go to Dumbledore’s Office to ask him for advice.

Once in office, you will quickly update the Headmaster on what Lucius Malfoy is doing with his rumors in Hogsmeade. Dumbledore will confess that he feared something like this would happen, and he will explain that those craving for power loathe seeing anyone other than themselves in the spotlight. He will further explain that his top priority has always been the students of Hogwarts. Everything else, including decorum, comes secondary to keeping students safe. He will point out that Lucius’s words were misleading.

The Headmaster will explain that Lucious has the unfortunate skill for presenting rubbish as respectable information and poisoning the minds with honeyed words. He will start explaining his next plan, and you will be an important part of it.

To learn Dumbledore’s plan, you will need to earn three stars within three hours.

Two bonus progress actions will be tied to Professor Dumbledore. Prioritize actions tied to him to save some energy.

Dumbledore plans to focus less on him and focus more on stories about Hogwarts and its students, without responding to Malfoy’s hatred. This way, Lucius’s slander will lose its weight, and readers will better understand Dumbledore’s position after learning the importance of Hogwarts.

The Headmaster will suddenly ask you whether you believe that love can always triumph over hate. Choose any option you like, although Dumbledore will agree with you if you choose the first option. Shortly after, Dumbledore will encourage you to seek out stories that celebrate Hogwarts and the people who make it great.

You will assure Professor Dumbledore that he can count on you. For this plan to work, you’ll need the help of other Hogwarts students.
