Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough section for Hats Off Part 2 of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery! In Part 1, you reunited with friends at the start of a new school year and discovered that Professor Dumbledore had a special request: to help the Sorting Hat compose its new song.

Together with the Hat, you discussed its verses, which highlighted Hogwarts’ long history and the legacy of its founders. Proceed to the History of Magic Classroom once the waiting time is over. Your goal is to learn about the school’s past in order to see how it might fit with its present in the song. The Sorting Hat will tell you that it was there for most of it, so it can share anything you want to know. You’ll then suggest beginning a discussion about Hogwarts’ history.

To discover the sorting hat’s story, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The bonus progress actions are tied to the sorting hat. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

You’ll realize that the Sorting Hat once belonged to Godric Gryffindor, and that the founders themselves enchanted it so it could sort students into the four houses after they passed away.

Following that, the Sorting Hat will give you the chance to ask about the topic that interests you most, so you’ll need to choose what you’re most curious about.

You and the Sorting Hat will then agree that the next step should be to visit the Trophy Room, where you can learn even more about the history of the renowned Hogwarts.

Go to the Trophy Room to continue the story. There, you’ll find an overwhelming number of trophies, and the Sorting Hat will remark that some are as old as itself. Together, you’ll decide to take a look at the trophies, celebrating the achievements and victories of Hogwarts students, in hopes of learning something new.

To explore the Trophy Room, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Quidditch Trophy and sorting hat. Prioritize these actions to save some energy. Slide the screen left and right to check all available actions.

While looking over the trophies, the Sorting Hat will notice that not all of them are ancient—some are much newer and could also find their place in the song. It will then ask you which trophy you think should be chosen to sing about.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Your next idea is to talk with both new and old students and make some comparisons. So, without delay, you’ll decide to start with the older ones by heading toward the portraits.

Proceed to the Grand Staircase when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you’re curious to see what they have to say.

You will approach Sir Cadogan and Merlin to greet them, but you’ll quickly notice some unresolved disagreements between the two. You’ll then suggest easing the tension by talking with them to understand what’s troubling them and why there’s conflict between them.

To question the portraits, you need to earn five stars within one hour. Three stars are required to pass.

The bonus progress actions are tied to Sir Cadogan. Prioritize these actions to save some energy.

Sir Cadogan is frustrated that Merlin is considered the more famous of the two. He adds that it’s not that Merlin is unworthy, but that his own deeds often go unnoticed, overshadowed by Merlin’s renown.

People even forget that he bested the Wyvern of Wye. As an advisor to King Arthur himself, Merlin is often remembered as the greatest wizard of all time.

You’ll note that there’s no reason for jealousy—both have accomplished feats most wizards can only dream of. Sir Cadogan is as brave as any Gryffindor could hope to be, and Merlin’s resourcefulness and ambition exemplify Slytherin traits. T

he Sorting Hat then will remark that it feels a great verse coming and ask if you think it should include any of this.

There are three different options to choose from. These options will influence some dialogue that will follow, but they won’t impact the story.

Now it’s your turn to show the Sorting Hat the Hogwarts you know, so let’s head over to Hagrid, your loyal friend.

Go to the Hagrid’s Hut to continue the story. When you arrive at Hagrid’s, you’ll explain what you and the Sorting Hat are working on and add that you’re here to discuss modern Hogwarts. He is a key member of the school staff and, as such, will surely provide a unique perspective. Hagrid will be very happy to help, and you’ll then begin your discussion.

To learn what Hagrid loves, you need to earn five stars within three hours. The five stars are required to pass. Since this task requires a lot of energy, it is recommended to start it with a full energy bar.

The thing Hagrid loves the most about Hogwarts is its students. He’ll add that other things are wonderful too—the Forbidden Forest, its magical creatures, or being around Professor Dumbledore—but there is nothing quite like the students. Their enthusiasm and energy are unlike anything else.

When he brings the first-years and they see the castle for the first time, it’s pure magic. The students are truly what keep Hogwarts alive.

You’ll tell the Sorting Hat that if you want the song to reflect present-day Hogwarts, today’s students should be included. The Hat will agree and then ask you what you love most about Hogwarts.

There are three different options to choose from. All of them will eventually lead to the same outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

You’ll thank Hagrid and then decide to head off with the Sorting Hat to meet your friends and have a little chat with them.

With these perspectives, you’re now ready to blend tradition and modernity in the song, setting the stage for the next part of your adventure.
