A Bad Omen Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for A Bad Omen Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, Professor Kettleburn tasked you and Liz with taking care of his baby Occamy while he is away.

Shortly after he left, Barnaby predicted that something bad is bound to happen to the Hippogriff Club. To make matters worse, the baby Occamy disappeared, so you quickly decided to look for her. While searching the courtyard, you stumbled upon some feathers and torn pages. Upon inspecting the feathers, Liz figured out that they belong to the Occamy.

You tried to fix the papers using the Mending Charm in order to figure out where Squawk is. Unfortunately, the spell didn’t work, and Ismelda realized it is probably because the papers are a part of a book of some sort.

Not long after that, Penny arrived to inform you that the baby Occamy is likely in Filch’s office. You rushed there, but unfortunately, Squawk was nowhere to be found. Instead, the entire caretaker’s office was in a state of mess, and needless to say, he wasn’t too happy about it.

In the end, you and Penny cleaned up Filch’s office. After that, you decided to see Professor Trelawney and ask her about the bad omen Barnaby predicted.

Upon starting this part, you will be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait, and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

She’ll say that your journey won’t end after finding what you seek. She’ll then turn to Barnaby and tell him to disregard the words of the brown-eyed skeptic.

You’ll tell her that you want to discuss Barnaby’s prediction. Professor Trelawney will smile and say that she sensed Barnaby was gifted with the Sight.

a bad omen part 2 1040

He will be surprised to hear that. He’ll wonder why Professor Trelawney never mentioned his gift before.

She will simply change the subject and ask about the vision. You’ll then get to tell her about Barnaby’s prediction.

Explaining Barnaby’s prediction requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

a bad omen part 2 1060

You will sum things up and say that the baby Occamy went missing shortly after Barnaby pulled a torn card. Professor Trelawney will ask about the card he pulled.

He’ll tell her it was the Five of Clubs. You’ll notice a worried look on the Professor’s face. She’ll explain that the Five of Clubs signifies new friends and alliances. Unfortunately, Barnaby pulled a torn card, which predicts ill fortune for the alliance.

Professor Trelawney will ask Barnaby another question about the card. He’ll tell her he drew the card from the top of the deck.

You will ask the Professor if there’s anything she can tell you about Squawk. Unfortunately, she won’t know where the baby Occamy is. You’ll assume that the bad omen has nothing to do with Squawk.

Barnaby will wonder if he is really gifted with the Sight. There are two options to reply with. This choice will affect some of the dialogue later on. If you like Barnaby, it is highly recommended to pick the first option.

a bad omen part 2 1080

Either way, you won’t see any connection between his prediction and Squawk’s disappearance. Sadly, you weren’t able to learn where the baby Occamy went.

You will decide to meet up with Liz and see if she had any luck with her research. Proceed to the Library once you are ready to meet with her.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

Liz will ask if you had any luck mending the pages.

a bad omen part 2 1090

You’ll tell her they are likely from a book, which is why you need to find all the pages before mending them.

Liz will wonder what kind of book it is. There are three options to reply with. This choice will be referenced later on. The correct answer is ‘An educational book’.

a bad omen part 2 1100

In any case, you will need to find all of the pages. You’ll ask Liz if she managed to find anything useful while researching Occamies.

Luckily, she did find some helpful information. She also managed to find some books that could help her become a magical creature fitness instructor. You’ll ask her to tell you what she discovered in her research.

Learning about Occamies requires earning five stars within one hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

a bad omen part 2 1110

There are actions with bonus progress tied to Diego and Merula. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

a bad omen part 2 1120

You will learn that Occamies are capable of changing their size. Liz will say that Squawk probably used that ability to sneak out of the Hippogriff Club.

You will figure out that she also used it to enter Filch’s office. Liz will chuckle at the thought of Squawk appearing in front of Mrs. Norris.

You’ll also recall her saying that Occamies are very protective of their eggs. Liz will tell you some interesting facts about Occamy eggs.

a bad omen part 2 1130

According to her, Occamies will do all in their power to protect their young. You will wonder if they would also protect another Occamy’s eggs.

Liz will tell you that they would likely protect any eggs in danger. You’ll figure out that the best way to lure Squawk is to make her think some Occamy eggs are in danger.

Liz will like your idea. Still, you will need to figure out a way to get Occamy eggs. The following few lines will differ, depending on whether or not you’ve met Jae before.

a bad omen part 2 1140

Proceed to the Hippogriff Club when you are ready to continue. You will be able to interact with some of the club members once you arrive. Simply tap on their speech bubbles if you are curious to see what they have to say.

Jae will be curious if Liz and you are up to something. If this is your first time meeting him, Liz will be sure to introduce you.

a bad omen part 2 1150

Jae will wonder what kind of trouble you’re looking for. You will tell him that the entire Hippogriff Club is already in trouble.

He will figure out it has something to do with the baby Occamy that went missing. You’ll be surprised that he already knows about it.

As it seems, every member of the Hippogriff Club knows that Occamy went missing. Jae will be glad that he’s not the one who caused the whole mess.

a bad omen part 2 1160

You’ll figure out that Professor Kettleburn won’t be too happy once he finds out what happened. As for Liz, she will be more concerned about the wellbeing of the baby Occamy.

She’ll ask if you think Squawk is all right on her own. There are two options to reply with. If you like Liz and want to put her mind at ease, it is recommended to pick the first option.

a bad omen part 2 1170

Either way, you will be determined to find Squawk as soon as possible. Jae will wonder what would happen if you fail to find the creature.

You’ll figure out that Professor Kettleburn won’t be happy about it. Jae will admit that he wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to the Hippogriff Club. After all, it is a perfect excuse for him to get out of detention in the kitchens.

He will ask if there’s anything he can do to help. You’ll tell him you need a few Occamy eggs. Jae will say that obtaining those eggs is nearly impossible.

a bad omen part 2 1180

You’ll tell him about your plan to lure Squawk out of hiding. After thinking about it for a moment, Jae will come up with an alternative solution to the problem. He’ll say that he might be able to get some fake Occamy eggs.

You’ll ask him to explain what he had in mind. Jae will go on and say that you can use some ostrich eggs and paint them silver to trick the Occamy.

a bad omen part 2 1190

You will ask Liz if that would be a good enough plan to trick Squawk. According to her, the plan should work since Squawk is very young.

However, capturing Squawk and returning her to the Hippogriff Club won’t be an easy task, so you’ll decide to ask the rest of the Hippogriff Club for ideas on how to return Squawk.

Making a plan requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

a bad omen part 2 1210

Thanks to everyone’s help, you will get a few good suggestions on how to return Squawk. You’ll decide to return to the Courtyard and put the plan into motion.

Liz will be quite confident that you can safely secure Squawk. You’ll figure out that casting Incendio near the eggs should draw Squawk’s attention.

a bad omen part 2 1220

You’ll ask Jae to let you know once he has the fake Occamy eggs. Head to the Courtyard once you are ready to continue.

You will thank Charlie for offering his help with catching the baby Occamy. He’ll tell you he is happy to help.

Liz will say that the ostrich eggs Jae painted look just like real Occamy eggs.

a bad omen part 2 1230

You’ll go over the plan one more time. Charlie and you will carefully use Incendio near the fake Occamy eggs, which should lure Squawk out of hiding.

And as soon as she shows up, everyone will rush in to secure her. Charlie will suggest reviewing the Fire-Making Spell before starting. You’ll agree with him.

Reviewing Incendio requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Liz and your character. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

a bad omen part 2 1250

You’ll sum up the most important things about the Fire-Making Spell. Charlie will advise you to be careful while casting the spell.

He’ll suggest practicing first. You will like his idea. Trace the wand movement to cast Incendio.

a bad omen part 2 1260

You will manage to produce a controlled flame using the spell.

a bad omen part 2 1270

Charlie will be happy with the way you performed the spell. Liz will remind him that one should still be extremely careful when using Incendio.

Charlie will be curious to know how you are feeling. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

a bad omen part 2 1280

Shortly after, Charlie and you will begin casting Incendio near the fake Occamy eggs.

Liz will start calling for help. The plan will work, and moments later, Squawk will make an appearance.

a bad omen part 2 1290

You’ll tell Charlie to cast Incendio a few more times until the Occamy gets closer to the eggs. Moments later, Squawk will fly down to protect the eggs.

You’ll tell Liz to quickly secure her before she gets away. She’ll approach the creature and successfully capture her.

Liz will say that Squawk looks sweet while guarding the eggs.

a bad omen part 2 1300

You’ll suggest returning the baby Occamy to the Hippogriff Club as soon as possible. Charlie will wonder if there’s a connection between the torn pages and the Occamy.

You will tell him that is a mystery you will have to solve after safely delivering Squawk to the Hippogriff Club.

a bad omen part 2 1310
