A Gathering of Old Friends Part 2
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for A Gathering of Old Friends Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you learned that Professor Dumbledore is planning a special gathering in Godric’s Hollow. His goal is to reunite some old friends, and you agreed to help him with that.
He tasked Hagrid and you to follow up on three people who haven’t replied to his invitations. The people you needed to talk to are Mundungus Fletcher, Remus Lupin, and Aberforth Dumbledore. You found Mundungus at the Three Broomsticks where he was selling his wares to Madam Rosmerta’s patrons. After you helped him sell all of his merchandise, he agreed to attend the gathering.
Next, you went to the Hog’s Head Inn. There, you found Aberforth Dumbledore. While he didn’t want to attend the meeting at first, thanks to your persuasive skills, you managed to convince him to change his mind. Unfortunately, you were unable to find Remus Lupin, so you went back to Professor Dumbledore.
Once you entered his office, you noticed Cecil Lee, a member of the Werewolf Capture Unit, talking with Professor Dumbledore. After eavesdropping on their conversation, you learned there might be a werewolf in Godric’s Hollow.
Interestingly enough, Professor Dumbledore asked you to help him handle the matter. When you are ready, proceed to the courtyard to meet with him.

Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]
Upon politely greeting Professor Dumbledore, you’ll ask what he wanted to talk to you about. You’ll learn that he considers you a trustworthy friend. He will also say that you are quite capable of dealing with people who have unique personalities.
You’ll appreciate his kind words and humbly say that you could only talk with two people. If you haven’t completed the Lone Wolf adventure, the following lines will be slightly different.
However, you will be determined to find Remus Lupin and speak with him. You’ll then ask Professor Dumbledore about the werewolf in Godric’s Hollow.
While he won’t be able to say who the werewolf is, he’ll be quite sure everything will go according to plan. You’ll ask if there’s anything you can do to help.
The choice you made while talking to Professor Dumbledore and Cecil Lee will take effect here.
The Headmaster will admit that he hasn’t told you everything he knows about the werewolf. You’ll be slightly surprised to hear that. Professor Dumbledore will decide to explain everything.
To learn what Dumbledore knows about the werewolf, you’ll need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
There is a bonus progress action tied to the fountain statues. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.
You’ll learn some interesting things about the werewolf in Godric’s Hollow. Apparently, Penny is quite familiar with it. The following lines will differ, depending on whether you completed Penny for Your Thoughts Side Quest or not.
Professor Dumbledore will tell you to speak with Penny and ask her about the werewolf attack near Wigtown. According to him, Penny’s involvement could be crucial.
The choice that you made during the end of Penny for Your Thoughts Side Quest will take effect here.
Professor Dumbledore will say that he’ll completely understand if Penny doesn’t want to be involved. Still, it could help her finally heal those wounds.
You will then get to choose how to approach Penny. There are three options to choose from. This choice will affect some of the dialogue lines later on. If you like Penny, it is recommended to pick the third option.
Professor Dumbledore will be glad that he asked for your assistance. He’ll tell you to bring Penny to his office if she agrees to help.
You will be quite sure you can find your Hufflepuff friend in the Potions classroom, so that’s where you’ll decide to go next.
You will need to wait three hours before Penny is ready to meet with you. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
Head to the Potions classroom once the waiting time is over. You will find Penny practicing potions in the classroom. You’ll cheerfully greet her as you approach.
She’ll say she is practicing a Forgetfulness Potion. You’ll tell her that you want to talk to her about something important.
Your previous choice will take effect here.
Penny will admit she is feeling a bit nervous. She’ll tell you she wants to brew the potion correctly. You will quickly offer to help her with that.
To brew Forgetfulness Potion, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.
There are actions with bonus progress tied to Penny and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
Penny will be quite happy with the potion she brewed. She’ll be curious about the werewolf Professor Dumbledore mentioned.
The following lines of dialogue will differ, depending on whether or not you completed Penny for Your Thoughts Side Quest. If you did, the outcome of that quest will affect the dialogue lines.
If you haven’t completed that side quest, you will learn that Penny’s friend Scarlett got attacked by a werewolf, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. If Penny drank Forgetfulness Potion during the quest, she will agree to help, and you’ll tell her about what happened.
You’ll tell her that confronting a werewolf is going to be different this time. She will ask why you are so sure about it. There are three options to reply with. If you like Penny, it is recommended to pick the second or the third option.
Penny will say she is going to do everything in her power to help. You’ll be happy to hear that. She’ll tell you there is something she needs to do before you start.
You will ask her about it. She’ll say that she wants to study to prepare for facing the werewolf. You’ll like her idea. Shortly after, the two of you will leave the Potions classroom.
Head to the Library when you are ready to continue. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.
Penny will say that she already gathered every book on werewolves she could find.
Hopefully, by learning more about them, you will find it easier to deal with the one in Godric’s Hollow.
You’ll tell Penny that you still don’t know what Professor Dumbledore wants of you. After all, there is a chance you might not need to fight a werewolf. Still, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared.
Shortly after, the two of you will start studying werewolves. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There is a bonus progress action tied to Penny. Prioritizing it should save you a bit of energy.
You’ll notice that your Hufflepuff friend isn’t particularly fond of werewolves. According to one of the books, werewolves are described as ruthless creatures with no moral sense.
You won’t fully agree with that statement. While it is true that werewolves are unable to control themselves if they transform without Wolfsbane Potion, they still remember everything they’ve done once they revert back to their human form.
And without a doubt, many of them regret the things they do while transformed. One such person is the narrator of Hairy Snout, Human Heart.
Still, Penny won’t be sure if she agrees with that. She will tell you about the failure of The Ministry’s Werewolf Code of Conduct of 1637.
If your character knows a ‘certain’ werewolf, you’ll tell Penny that not all of them are dangerous. Otherwise, you’ll admit that you’ve never met one.
Either way, Penny won’t be willing to take any chances. You’ll tell her not to worry since Professor Dumbledore would never willingly put either of you in danger. Penny will agree with you.
She will apologize for getting carried away. She’ll realize there is a chance Professor Dumbledore only wants information about what happened.
If that is the case, thanks to the research, you’ve read everything there is about werewolves.
Penny will tell you she is finally ready to talk to the Headmaster. Moments later, the two of you will leave the library.
Go to Dumbledore’s Office when you are ready to continue. The Headmaster will be glad that Penny agreed to meet him.
Penny will assume he wants to talk about the werewolf attack she witnessed near Wigtown. She’ll admit she wasn’t sure if she could relive those moments.
The choice you made while talking to the Headmaster in the courtyard will take effect here.
Professor Dumbledore will say that good friends are invaluable in difficult times. You’ll ask him about the werewolf in Godric’s Hollow.
He will tell you he wants to take things one at a time. He’ll ask Penny to tell him everything she can remember about the werewolf attack near Wigtown.
She will agree to tell him everything she can remember. However, she will need your help. She’ll ask you to make sure she tells everything to Professor Dumbledore.
You will gladly offer your support. Penny will be relieved to hear that. She’ll then start telling the Headmaster everything she can remember about the attack.
To help Penny tell her story, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.
There are actions with bonus progress tied to Penny and Professor Dumbledore. Focus on those actions to save some energy.
Professor Dumbledore will thank Penny for sharing her story. He’ll admire her strength and say there is a strong bond between her and you.
You’ll thank him for his kind words and ask if there’s anything else he needs from you. Penny will have a feeling the Headmaster wants more than a story. After all, there is a werewolf on the loose.
She’ll say that the only way to deal with the creature is to cage it or destroy it. Professor Dumbledore will be surprised to hear her say that.
He’ll say that not all werewolves are bad. He will also say that he wants to determine the werewolf’s intentions before doing anything.
Penny will be quite sure what those intentions are. She’ll say that she simply cannot hesitate if she finds herself facing the werewolf.
Professor Dumbledore will ask if you agree with her. There are two options to reply with. While this choice won’t significantly impact the story, jumping to conclusions without knowing all the facts is almost never a good idea. Because of that, it is recommended to pick the second option.
You’ll ask the Headmaster what to do next. By the looks of it, Penny and you will be going to Godric’s Hollow.
Your Hufflepuff friend will immediately assume that the two of you are going to fight the werewolf. However, if everything goes according to plan, there won’t be any need for fighting.
Professor Dumbledore will tell you that one of his guests is waiting for you in Godric’s Hollow. And that person is none other than Mad-Eye Moody.
Penny will say she is ready to go. Moments later, the two of you will leave the Headmaster’s Office.
This will conclude Part 2 of A Gathering of Old Friends adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.
What does Mad-Eye Moody plan to do about the werewolf? And will his plan work? Find out in the next part of this adventure!
