Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Duelling Deathday Parties Adventure for Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, Nearly Headless Nick informed you that his Deathday is approaching, and he wants to host the biggest Deathday party Hogwarts has ever seen.

He asked for your help with organizing everything. Unfortunately, the plans for his party were disrupted by the arrival of the famous storyteller ghost, Erling the Great. Furthermore, Erling has the same Deathday as Nick, and he plans to host his Deathday party on the same night.

This made things much more complicated, and now you have to figure out if there’s a solution that would benefit everyone. Proceed to the Courtyard to meet with the Fat Friar and Sir Nicholas and see if you can sort things out.

You will ask Sir Nicholas and the Fat Friar if there is any way you can celebrate both Deathdays. Nick will point out that unlike Erling, he hasn’t been acting arrogantly at all.

You’ll suggest having each ghost host their own party. That way, everyone can decide how they want to spend their evening.

The Fat Friar will say it’s probably not the best idea. Also, he wants Erling to get the best possible impression of Hogwarts since he’ll be spreading the word about his visit. The last thing anyone wants is for him to speak badly about Hogwarts.

You’ll agree with Fat Friar and ask Nearly Headless Nick if he is on the same page. Unfortunately, he won’t be too excited about having to please Erling.

You’ll say that arguing with each other will get you nowhere. Moments later, Erling will appear, saying you’re correct about that.

Sir Nicholas won’t be happy about his arrival. You’ll ask Erling if he would agree to have a discussion and see if there’s a solution that would benefit everyone.

Thankfully, he’ll be willing to talk about the Deathday parties.

You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. One star is required to pass for Year 2-3 students. Three stars are needed to pass for Year 4+ students.

There are bonus progress actions tied to the Fat Friar and Erling the Great. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Sadly, they won’t be able to come to an agreement. In the end, both Erling and Nick will decide to host their own parties.

The Fat Friar will try to convince them to reconsider, but sadly neither of them will listen to reason.

Moments later, both of them will bid each other farewell and leave the Clocktower Courtyard.

The Friar will admit he completely forgot about Sir Nicholas’s Deathday while he was planning Erling’s visit.

He will wonder if he’s the one responsible for this mess. There are two options to respond with. While this choice won’t affect the outcome of the story, if you like the Fat Friar you should tell him it’s not his fault.

The only thing you can do now is to wait for a while to see if any of them will come to their senses.

Perhaps Penny could help you find a solution to this whole mess. Proceed to the Charms classroom when you are ready to meet with her.

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.

Penny will be very surprised to find out that Erling and Nick are planning to host separate Deathday parties.

You’ll tell her that they don’t really get along with each other. Needless to say, this will be the hot topic of everyone’s conversation.

Penny will be eager to meet Erling and get to know him. Moments later, the Fat Friar and Erling will enter the classroom.

The Friar will happily introduce his friend. Penny will be extremely happy to meet Erling. The Friar will praise Penny as one of the best Hufflepuff students.

You’ll ask Erling if he likes Hogwarts. He will say that he is pretty amused by the things he saw.

Shortly after, Penny and you will get the chance to get to know Erling.

Getting acquainted with Erling requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions linked to Penny and one of the books. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

Erling will be very glad about getting the chance to meet some of the Hogwarts students.

He’ll also admit he’s looking forward to his Deathday party. Both Penny and you will say that you’re happy you got the opportunity to meet someone as famous as he is.

The Fat Friar will remind his friend that they should be touring the dungeons soon. Speaking of dungeons, Erling the Great will say that he even had the chance to visit Azkaban.

The Friar will ask Erling to help him with some decisions for his Deathday party. Needless to say, Erling will be very happy to provide his assistance.

Shortly after, the two of them will leave the classroom. Penny will mention that Erling is quite a talkative ghost.

She will also point out that he seems pretty nice once he lets his guard down. Perhaps if Nick could see that side of him, the two of them might come to an agreement.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2130

Penny will be curious if Sir Nicholas is still determined to host his Deathday party the same night as Erling.

Unfortunately, you’ll tell her that is indeed the case. This could cause a lot of problems for the ghosts who are invited to both parties.

Penny will ask which one of them you think will have more guests. There are two options to pick from. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Penny will wonder if there is any way to help Nearly Headless Nick. You’ll tell her you are soon to meet with him and discuss the plans for his party. You will ask if she wants to join you.

Needless to say, she will be happy to go with you. Head to the Great Hall when you are ready to continue.

Once you get there, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Nearly Headless Nick will be very glad to see you and Penny.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2150

He’ll thank you for helping him organize his Deathday party. You will ask what you can do to help.

He’ll tell you to use your wizarding skills to create some marvelous invitations for his guests. You’ll be curious to know what type of invitations he’d like you to make. Nick will suggest using howlers.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2160

Penny will point out that she doesn’t really associate the howlers with the word ‘elegant’.

Nick will nod and say that the howlers won’t be yelling at the invitees, but beaconing them in a gentle manner. Your Hufflepuff friend will say that she knows of a charm that might be perfect for this.

You’ll then get to create some invitation howlers. You need to earn five stars within three hours (eight hours for Year 4+ students) to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2170

There are actions with bonus progress linked to your character and the paper on the ground. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2180

Once you’re done, you will test the invitation howler.

Nearly Headless Nick will be delighted by the results. Upon seeing you use magic, Sir Nicholas will fondly remember his days as a wizard. He’ll admit that he misses those days.

Penny will apologize for reminding him of the things he lost. Sir Nicholas will say that he gets a little emotional at this time of year.

Your curiosity will get the better of you, so you’ll ask Nick to tell you more about being a ghost. You will find his answer slightly confusing.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2200

He’ll try to elaborate by asking you an interesting question. There are two options to pick from. This choice won’t impact the story in any meaningful way, so feel free to pick either option.

Basically, he can still remember all of the sensations he had while he was alive, but he can no longer sense them.

Shortly after, he will ask you to deliver the invitations to his guests. He’ll suggest starting with the one on top of the pile.

This is where you’ll be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since your energy will likely be low at this point, it is recommended to wait and let it recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the East Towers Corridor once the waiting time is over. When you arrive at the bathroom, you will notice it is completely flooded.

You’ll wonder if it is okay for you to be in this place. Penny will say that nobody ever visits it. If your character is a wizard, you’ll get some additional lines of dialogue.

Penny will then read the name written on the invitation. You will try calling for Myrtle Elizabeth Warren.

Penny will chuckle at you for doing that. Moments later, much to her surprise, the ghost of a young girl will approach you.

You will ask if she is Myrtle Elizabeth Warren. You’ll tell her Sir Nicholas asked you to deliver an invitation to her.

She’ll interrupt you mid-sentence and assume you are lying to her. Apparently, some students like making fun of her during this time of year.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2230

Apparently, she mistook you for a bully. You will try to explain that you didn’t come to bully her. You will properly introduce yourself to her.

You’ll then deliver Nick’s invitation to Myrtle.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2240

This will instantly put a smile on her face. You’ll learn that she’s never been to a Deathday party before.

She’ll say that none of the other ghosts enjoy her company very much. You’ll tell her that Nearly Headless Nick really wants her at his party.

Still, Myrtle won’t be easily convinced. There are two options to try and persuade her to go. Both of these will result in a similar outcome, so feel free to take your pick.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2250

Either way, you will have to do some more convincing.

In order to convince Myrtle, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are required to pass, it is not recommended to start this task if you are low on energy.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2260

There are bonus progress actions linked to your character and Myrtle. Focus on those if you want to save a bit of energy.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2270

In the end, Myrtle will agree to attend the party. However, she will admit she is a bit shy and she needs someone to accompany her.

You’ll point out that she’s allowed to bring a guest with her. She’ll ask if you want to be her plus one.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2280

You’ll be surprised by her request. Myrtle will explain that she isn’t really comfortable around other ghosts, which is why she would prefer if you could accompany her to the party.

You’ll thank her and agree to go to the party with her.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2290

Penny will remind you there are plenty more invitations to deliver. Shortly after, the Fat Friar will ask you to meet with him. Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready to continue.

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.

The Friar will ask if you’ve been delivering invitations to Nearly Headless Nick’s Deathday party. You’ll nod, saying there is one more invitation you’ve yet to deliver. You’ll take out the invitation howler and present it to the Friar.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2300

The Fat Friar will be emotionally struck upon hearing the invitation. You’ll ask if he was expecting an invitation to Sir Nicholas’s party.

The Friar will admit that he wasn’t sure, but he’ll be very glad he received one. He’ll say there’s something he wants to ask you.

He’ll tell you that Erling is asking a lot of questions about Nick’s party. Interestingly enough, Nick is also curious about Erling’s party.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2310

The Friar will say that it would be best if both of them would stop competing with each other. You’ll ask if there’s anything you can do to help. He’ll say that getting both of them to talk to each other in a civil manner would be a good start.

The Fat Friar will ask if you could speak to Sir Nicholas and ask him to stop competing with Erling. There are two options to choose from. This choice will have some impact on the dialogue later on, so if you like the Friar, it is recommended to tell him you will have a word with Nick.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2320

Shortly after, you will ask him about Erling’s plans for his Deathday party. The Friar will be glad to tell you about it.

Talking to him requires earning five stars within three hours (eight hours for Year 6+ students). All five stars are needed to pass.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2330

There are actions with bonus progress linked to the Friar and your character which should make this task slightly easier to complete.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2340

By the looks of it, Erling the Great had some quite “unusual” requests.

duelling deathday parties part 2 2350

You’ll admit it isn’t too easy helping Nick prepare his Deathday party either.

Shortly after, Nearly Headless Nick will arrive saying he’s been looking everywhere for you. The Fat Friar will try to use the opportunity to talk to him.

Unfortunately for him, Nick has some important matters to discuss with you.
