Holidays At Hogwarts Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Holidays at Hogwarts Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you learned that Professor Dumbledore, Professor Flitwick, and Madam Hooch are staying at Hogwarts for the holiday season.

Since Penny also had to remain at Hogwarts, she decided to do something special for the teachers. She asked you and some other friends to help her, and together, you decided to throw a special party for the teachers. On top of that, you’ll also get each of them a present, so in order to find out what they like, you volunteered to help them with some holiday tasks.

You learned that Professor Dumbledore likes ice and snow. Professor Flitwick told you he enjoys some delicious holiday food. As for Madam Hooch, she said that she would like to learn more about Leonard Jewkes – the wizard who designed the Silver Arrow broom.

Now you can focus on preparing the gifts for the teachers. The first one on the list is Professor Flitwick. Proceed to the Potions classroom once you are ready to meet with Penny.

Both you and Penny will manage to sneak into the classroom without anyone noticing. Still, you will need to be careful and avoid getting caught by Filch.

You’ll suggest brewing the Gillywater for Professor Flitwick as soon as possible. After that, you can go to the Artefact Room and look for the book for Madam Hooch.

And once you are done with the gifts, you can get started on transforming the ballroom into the perfect Winter Wonderland. Hopefully, everything will go according to plan.

Luckily, Penny is fairly confident she won’t have any trouble brewing Gillywater. She’ll also be certain that you can find a book on Leonard Jewkes.

However, one other thing will make her worried. She will decide to tell you about it while brewing the Gillywater.

Brewing Gillywater with Penny requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Penny and the cauldron. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Penny will tell you how much she cares about the Winter Wonderland party. She will say that she wants the holiday break to be perfect for everyone.

You will quickly figure out what she is worried about.

She will ask if you think she should be worried. There are two options to reply with. If you want to make Penny feel better, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Penny will suggest getting the Gillywater bottled up. Suddenly, you will hear a familiar voice.

You and Penny will quickly decide to hide. Moments later, Filch will enter the classroom. Luckily, he won’t notice you, and after a while, he will leave to get his shackles.

Once he leaves, you and Penny will come out of hiding. Penny will advise you to be extra careful from now on.

Thankfully, you won’t need to break any school rules to complete the next task. Head to the Artefact Room once you are ready to continue.

You will be glad that everything is going according to plan. The next step is finding a gift for Madam Hooch.

You will need to do it quickly since Filch is on high alert. However, according to Penny, you should be safe in the Artefact Room.

She’ll suggest heading to Sphinx Club after finding a biography of Leonard Jewkes since that’s where Merula and Ben will hide the decorations.

You’ll wonder if the two of them had any luck. Sadly, you won’t know for sure until you meet up with them.

In any case, Penny will suggest focusing on the task at hand. Shortly after, the two of you will start looking for the biography of Leonard Jewkes.

Searching the Artefact Room requires earning five stars within one hour (three hours for Year 4+ students). Three stars are needed to pass.

There is an action with bonus progress tied to an old broom. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

Sadly, you won’t be able to find the book. Penny will be slightly frustrated by that.

You will tell her not to worry. You’ll then show her an old broom you found.

Upon taking a good look at it, Penny will realize that you are holding a Silver Arrow broomstick.

Apparently, it is the same model Madam Hooch used to have. In other words, it will make a perfect gift for her.

Shortly after, you and Penny will decide to meet up with Ben and Merula. The two of them should be waiting for you in the Sphinx Club, so go there when you are ready to continue.

Upon arriving, you will notice that Ben and Merula got some wonderful winter decorations. Penny will be incredibly pleased about that.

Merula will not hesitate to take credit for it. She’ll ask if Penny and you managed to get the gifts for the teachers.

You will quickly fill her in.

Penny will thank everyone for their hard work. Ben will ask if everything is ready for the next part of the plan.

Penny will say that you cannot start decorating the ballroom yet. You’ll ask her why that is the case.

She will say that all of you need to be careful not to be seen while decorating the ballroom. Because of that, you will need to wait for a while.

Penny will suggest playing a fun game in the meantime. Merula will like her idea.

You’ll ask Penny to explain the rules of the game.

Learning the rules of Penny’s game requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

There are bonus progress actions tied to your character, Penny, and the food on the table. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You’ll learn that the game is called ‘White Hippogriff’. Penny plays it every year with her family. During the first part of the game, all players will need to find some silly gifts.

After that, everyone will be able to open a gift on their turn or steal someone else’s gift.

In the end, everyone will get a gift. Merula will find the game absolutely brilliant.

On the other hand, Ben won’t look too excited to play it. Penny will reassure him there is nothing to worry about.

She will suggest spreading out and searching for gifts. She’ll warn everyone to watch out for Filch.

You’ll figure out that the caretaker is most likely not in his office. Perhaps you can find your ‘White Hippogriff’ gift in there…

Merula will decide to sneak into Filch’s office with you. You’ll be surprised to hear that.

She will wonder how you are feeling about that. There are two options to reply with. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the first option.

Shortly after, the two of you will head to the caretaker’s office. Proceed there when you are ready.

The place will be empty, just as you suspected. You will suggest searching the place as quickly as possible. After all, you don’t want to be caught by Filch. If that happens, the entire party will be ruined.

Moments later, the two of you will start looking for gifts. According to Merula, you should be able to find some interesting items.

Searching Filch’s office requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There is a bonus progress action tied to your character. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.

You will find your gift for the game – a pair of Merlin’s Self-Supporting Socks.

Merula will show you the game of Exploding Snap she found.

Now that both of you found the gifts for White Hippogriff, you can head back to the Sphinx clubhouse and play the game.

The only thing you still need to get is a gift for Professor Dumbledore. You’ll wonder if you should give him the pair of socks you found.

The choice you made after talking to the Headmaster in the Great Hall will take effect here.

Merula will suggest searching for a while longer. Suddenly, you will hear a hissing sound.

You’ll figure out that Mrs. Norris is likely right outside the door. If that is the case, Filch is probably heading back to his office.

Merula won’t like the possibility of spending the holiday break in detention. Perhaps you can cause a distraction and escape unnoticed…

Merula will get an interesting idea.

Moments later, Mrs. Norris will enter the office and angrily hiss at you. You will hear the caretaker’s voice right outside the door.

Merula will tell you to run just as she sets off some of the fireworks.

The cloud of smoke will allow you to leave the office.
