Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for Holidays at Hogwarts Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, Penny and you sneaked into the Potions classroom to brew Gillywater for Professor Flitwick.
Luckily, you were able to get in unnoticed and Penny had no problems brewing Gillywater. However, just as you were to get out, Filch entered the classroom. The two of you managed to hide and avoid getting caught.
Later on, you went to the Artefact Room to look for a biography of Leonard Jewkes. Unfortunately, you were unable to find it, but you did find something else. You found a Silver Arrow broom, which should make an excellent gift for Madam Hooch.
Afterward, you met with Ben and Merula in the Sphinx clubhouse. The two of them were able to get all the necessary decorations for the party. Penny said that you should wait a while before taking the decorations to the ballroom. That way, you should be able to keep everything a surprise.
Penny suggested playing a game called ‘White Hippogriff’ in the meantime. The goal of that game is to get some silly gifts for each other and have fun. You and Merula went to Filch’s office to find some gifts for the game. Luckily, you were able to find some interesting items, but before you exited the office, Mrs. Norris and Filch showed up. Merula set off some fireworks to create a distraction for the two of you to escape unnoticed.
Now is the time to continue where you left off. Upon starting this task, you will be met with a waiting period of five hours. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the clubhouse once the waiting time is over. You will tell Ben and Penny that you were almost caught by the caretaker.
Luckily, you were able to find the gifts for White Hippogriff before Mr. Filch and Mrs. Norris showed up.
Penny will be glad to hear that. Still, you will need to be careful from now on. Soon enough, you should be able to start decorating the ballroom.
Penny will look forward to it. In the meantime, the four of you can start playing White Hippogriff. Ben will ask Penny about the rules of the game. She’ll go over the rules and explain how the game is played.
You will ask if it is possible for someone to wind up without a present. Penny will say that everyone should get a present in the end.
Shortly after, the game will start. Playing White Hippogriff requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.
There are bonus progress actions tied to Ben, Penny, and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.
Ben will be the first one to open his gift. He will seem pretty happy with what he got.
He’ll say that he likes Exploding Snap.
The next one to take a turn will be Merula. She will decide to steal Ben’s gift.
Ben will be caught by a surprise. The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will thank him for the Exploding Snap.
Penny will tell Ben to open another gift since Merula chose to steal the first one he opened. Ben won’t be happy about getting his gift stolen.
Penny will smile and say that he gets to open another one. Sadly, he won’t be willing to do that.
You’ll tell him that the next present might turn out to be better than the first one. Merula will say there is no reason to get upset over a game.
Ben’s response will differ, based on your current progress of the main story.
Penny will notice that he is upset, so she will kindly ask Merula to give him back the Exploding Snap.
Merula will be surprised by her request. Penny will say that she doesn’t want anyone to be upset. The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will tell her she simply played by the rules.
Once again, Penny will try to convince her.
She’ll then ask for your opinion. There are two options to respond with. If you like Ben, you should pick the first option. If you agree that Merula did nothing wrong, it is recommended to pick the second option.
Regardless of your choice, Penny will ask Merula to give back the Exploding Snap to Ben.
Merula will say again that she simply followed the rules. According to her, Ben was the one acting like an infant.
Penny won’t like her reply. She’ll wonder why Merula had to be a bully. Merula will get angry after being called a bully. She’ll remind Penny that playing the game was her idea.
Moments later, she will take out her wand and cast the Fire-Making Spell on the decorations.
She will wish everyone Merry Christmas before leaving the place. Penny will get very upset after seeing the decorations ruined.
Ben will say that he is the one to blame for what happened. He’ll also leave the clubroom. Poor Penny will be devastated by this turn of events.
You’ll try to lift her spirits by saying that things could still be salvaged. She won’t be sure there is enough time to fix everything.
You will tell her there must be a way to set things right. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to make her feel better. You will decide to talk to Ben and Merula and see if there is anything you can do to fix things.
Head to the courtyard once you’re ready to continue. You will notice Ben sitting alone at the fountain. You’ll ask if he is all right.
He’ll tell you he feels terrible. He will blame himself for ruining everything. You’ll say that he wasn’t the only one involved in what happened.
He will point out that Merula only burned the decorations because he got upset over the game.
He won’t be sure what to do next, so he’ll ask for your opinion. There are three options to reply with. If you like Penny, it is recommended to advise Ben to apologize.
You’ll be curious to know why he got so upset about Merula stealing his gift during the game of White Hippogriff.
Ben won’t be able to answer that question. He will ask you to help him figure it out. Perhaps that way, you might also be able to find a way to fix things.
Talking with Ben requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
There are actions with bonus progress tied to Ben and your character.
You will learn that Exploding Snap meant a lot to Ben in the past. He’ll say that it helped him overcome his fears.

Ben will admit that he felt slightly embarrassed about it. There are two options for you to reply with. If you like Ben, it is recommended to pick the first one.
Ben will thank you for being so supportive. He will feel much better after talking to you. He’ll wonder if it is too late to save the party.
You won’t be too sure about that. Still, if you can convince Merula to help, it might be possible to salvage things.
Proceed to the training grounds once you are ready to talk to Merula. You will find her standing near the Christmas tree. She will wonder if you’re angry at her for ruining the decorations.
She will still blame Ben for what happened earlier. You’ll tell her that Ben was quite upset.
Merula will ask if you’ve arrived to duel the villain who ruined the surprise party. There are two options to reply with. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the second option.
She’ll say that she was only following the rules of the game. The choice that you made during the game of White Hippogriff will take effect here.
You’ll then get to tell her about your conversation with Ben.
Talking to Merula requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
There are bonus progress actions tied to Merula and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.
After talking to you, Merula will understand why Ben was upset about her stealing Exploding Snap from him.
She will wonder why he didn’t say anything. You’ll realize that she is tired of people assuming she is a villain. That certainly isn’t a nice way to treat someone.
Merula will thank you for seeing things from her perspective. After giving it some thought, she will decide to give the gift back to Ben.
You will ask if she would be willing to help you and the others set up the Winter Wonderland party.
She’ll remind you that most of the decorations were ruined.
Still, it is not too late to fix things, as long as you work together. You’ll point at the Christmas tree.
She’ll assume it was fun decorating it. You will say that she can still have fun helping you and the others save the holiday. In the end, Merula will agree to help.
You’ll suggest talking to Penny first. Head back to the clubhouse once you are ready to continue.
Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.
You will approach Penny and say that you worked things out with Ben and Merula. All of you will be ready to start working on the Winter Wonderland party.
Ben will say that Merula gave him back the Exploding Snap.
Merula will apologize for ruining the decorations. You will ask Penny if she wants to save the Winter Wonderland party.
She won’t seem to be interested in throwing a party anymore. You will try to convince her to change her mind.
After thinking about it for a moment, she will apologize to Merula for calling her a bully. She’ll also say she is sorry for forcing everyone to help her.
Ben will say that all of you wanted to help her. Still, she will blame herself for what happened. Merula will remind her that she was the one who ruined the decorations.
Ben will also take part of the blame for getting upset over a silly game. Penny will thank everyone for lifting her spirits. She will feel much better after having a conversation.
You’ll ask her if she is done blaming herself for what happened. Penny will admit she was quite upset once she found out she wasn’t going home for the break.
She thought that her homesickness would go away if she could throw a perfect party for the teachers. You will tell her there is still time to fix things.
If all of you work together, you will definitely be able to throw an amazing party for the teachers. Sadly, Penny won’t be sure where to begin. You will suggest figuring it out together.
Rethinking the Winter Wonderland requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.
There are actions with bonus progress tied to Merula and the food. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
You will figure out that you can use Reparo to fix the branches on the trees. Also, Glacius spell should be able to freeze the water and make a beautiful frozen lake.
Luckily, the food will be in good shape, so you can still use it for the party. If you completed A Very Weasley Christmas adventure, you will get some additional lines of dialogue.
Penny will like the plan for restoring the Winter Wonderland party. You will suggest getting started on decorating the ballroom.
