The Tale of Pumpkin Johnny Part 2
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Tale of Pumpkin Johnny Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you learned there will be a pumpkin-themed Halloween party to celebrate the holiday. You and your friends went to help Hagrid, and he told you the spooky story of Pumpkin Johnny.
The next day, while you were in the courtyard, Penny told you she had a terrible nightmare about Pumpkin Johnny. Later on, while you and Tonks were studying in the library, you fell asleep. In your dream, you found yourself in the Forbidden Forest. After wandering about for a while, you were attacked by Pumpkin Johnny which caused you to wake up.
Now is the time to see if any of your friends experienced the same nightmare. According to Tonks, you should find them in Hagrid’s garden, so go there when you are ready.

Walkthrough
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]
Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.
You’ll notice that something, or someone, destroyed all of Hagrid’s pumpkins.

Needless to say, Hagrid will be devastated. You’ll quickly offer to help clean up the place.
Hagrid will decide to go inside his hut for a while. You’ll recall the story he told you earlier. Perhaps you might be able to find some clues while cleaning up.
You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. All five stars are required to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Tonks, your character, and one of the smashed pumpkins. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

Thankfully, you and your friends will manage to clean the place up. You’ll tell them you found a note inside one of the broken pumpkins.
You will read the note to them.

Tonks will tell you that Penny hasn’t left her room for a while. Barnaby will say that he also had a nightmare about Pumpkin Johnny.
Tonks will ask if anyone else had a similar nightmare. You can choose to tell them about your nightmare or keep it to yourself. While this choice won’t significantly impact the story, it is recommended to be honest with your friends and pick the first option.

You’ll decide to head back to the castle and inform the teachers about what happened, so head to the Great Hall when you are ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the students and see what they have to say.
Professor Dumbledore will thank everyone for coming. He’ll inform the students about what happened to Hagrid’s pumpkins.

He will also tell the students to report to a member of the faculty as soon as possible in case they know who is responsible.
He’ll then say that the school has taken certain measures to ensure that all Halloween events proceed as planned.
Listening to the Headmaster requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are actions with bonus progress tied to Professor Dumbledore. Focus on those actions to save energy.

Professor Dumbledore will reassure everyone that the Pumpkin Party will proceed as planned.
Suddenly, Mr. Filch will burst into the Great Hall. He’ll say that someone called Pumpkin Johnny defaced the corridor walls and hurt an innocent girl.

Everyone will be surprised to hear that. Professor Dumbledore will calmly tell the Prefects to lead the students of their houses back to their common rooms.
Tonks will notice that many students are going directly to the corridor to see what happened.
You’ll decide to go with them.

You’ll need to wait five hours before you can continue. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out. That way, your energy should fully recharge in the meantime.
Go to the corridor located in the West Towers once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the students. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.
Professor McGonagall will ask everyone to keep their distance while she examines the student who was attacked.

Upon taking a closer look, she’ll recognize the student as none other than Penny Haywood.
Luckily, Penny won’t be injured. Moments later, Professor McGonagall will take her to the Hospital Wing.

You’ll be determined to find out what happened. Mr. Filch will wonder why you haven’t left. You’ll politely ask him to tell you what he saw.
He will allow you to ask him one question. There are three options to choose from. If you like Penny, it is recommended to pick the first option. Otherwise, feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Mr. Filch will also say that he found a note next to Penny. You’ll decide to take a closer look at the scene and see if you can find anything.
Investigating the scene is your next task. You need to earn five stars within eight hours to complete it. All five stars are required to pass.

There are actions with bonus progress tied to Mr. Filch and the wall. Prioritize those actions to save energy.

After examining the scene, you’ll say that the drawing was made with pumpkin innards. You’ll also read the note Mr. Filch found.

Tonks will ask if you have a working theory of what’s happening. There are three options to choose from. This choice will have a minor impact on some of the dialogue lines, but it won’t significantly change the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Shortly after, you’ll decide to visit Penny and see if she is all right. Go to the Hospital Wing when you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends.
Thankfully, Penny didn’t suffer any injury. You will ask her to tell you what happened. She’ll tell you she was hit with the Pumpkin-Head Jinx.
The following line will differ slightly if your character knows Melofors.

Luckily, that spell doesn’t cause any physical harm. There are three options for you to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Penny will say that she needs to stay in the Hospital Wing until she is fully recovered. You’ll be glad that she’s all right.
You will then get to ask her some questions about what happened. You need to earn five stars within three hours to complete this task. Three stars are required to pass.

There is a bonus progress action linked to your character. Focus on it to save a bit of energy.

Penny will tell you everything she can remember. She saw a big drawing of a pumpkin on the wall. Moments later, she felt like someone was behind her. Once she turned around, she saw Pumpkin Johnny. He raised his wand at her, and that’s when she fainted.

Tonks will decide to investigate the matter further. The choice you made while talking to Penny in the courtyard will take effect here.

She’ll tell you she isn’t really looking forward to the pumpkin party.
Barnaby will say that he wants to do something to help. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly change the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Shortly after, Barnaby will go to get Penny’s spellbooks.
Not long after that, Tonks will come back and say there was a note inside the pumpkin that trapped Penny. She’ll read the note to you.

You will quickly decide to go after Barnaby and make sure he is okay.

This will mark the end of Part 2 of The Tale of Pumpkin Johnny adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 3 Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.
