Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Welcome to the Sphinx Club Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you visited the Sphinx Club and learned that Merula is interested in full Self-Transfiguration.
More importantly, she wanted to demonstrate her magical skill by performing that kind of Transfiguration in front of everyone in the Sphinx Club. While talking about it, Professor McGonagall overheard your conversation and decided to tell you about the dangers of Self-Transfiguration.
She also warned you that she will disband the Sphinx Club should any of you attempt it. Despite this, Merula was still determined to go through with her plan, and she ignored all of the warnings from Ismelda and you.
In the end, she gathered all of the Sphinx Club members to prove that she is the Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts. Unfortunately, her full Self-Transfiguration didn’t exactly go the way she planned, and instead of turning into a Thunderbird, she turned into a Flobberworm.
Now it is up to you to find a way to reverse the effects of the spell. Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Since the adventure is available for students of Year 3 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]
Head to the Artefact Room once the waiting time is over. Ismelda will be glad that you can try fixing Merula without having to worry about anyone catching you.
She will suggest doing it as soon as possible. She will ask Merula if she’s ready.
Unfortunately, the Most Powerful Flobberworm at Hogwarts won’t be able to give her a clear answer.
You will decide to start with Reparifarge. Perhaps it will be able to reverse the effects of Merula’s Transfiguration.
Ismelda will ask if you are ready. However, before you’re able to answer her question, you will realize that Merula is gone.
Thankfully, she’s unable to open doors in her current state, which means that she’s somewhere in the Artefact Room. You’ll suggest looking around to find Merula.
This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task if you are low on energy.
There is an action with bonus progress tied to your character, so focus on it whenever it is available if you want to save a bit of energy.
Luckily, you will be able to find Merula. Ismelda will wonder why her friend decided to hide from you. Perhaps she didn’t trust you with Untransfiguring her?
You will decide to save that question for after she’s back to her usual self. You’ll take out your wand and prepare to cast Reparifarge. Trace the wand movement to do so.
Unfortunately, the spell won’t work, and Merula will remain a Flobberworm. Ismelda will wonder if you should turn to Professor McGonagall for help.
However, that would mean saying goodbye to the Sphinx Club, which is why you’ll need to come up with some other solution to this problem.
You will decide to seek help from the members of other clubs. Proceed to the Greenhouse when you are ready to meet with the members of the Hippogriff Club.
Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your classmates. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.
You will thank everyone for meeting you and say that you need their help. Penny will be more than glad to provide her assistance. Barnaby will be curious about your Flobberworm.
You will tell them that the Flobberworm is none other than Merula. Ismelda will inform them about what Professor McGonagall said earlier.
Penny will ask if you tried anything to reverse the effects of Transfiguration. You’ll tell her about your previous attempt to change Merula back. Unfortunately, Reparifarge didn’t have any effect.
Barnaby will smile and tell you about what Merula just said to him.
You will be very surprised to find out that he can understand her. He’ll simply say he’s good with magical creatures.
Penny will suggest using some Drowsiness Draught to weaken the effects of the spell. You will nod and agree to brew some of it to help Merula.
Brewing Drowsiness Draught requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass. Because of that, it is not recommended to start this task if your energy bar is empty.
There are bonus progress actions linked to Barnaby and Ismelda. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.
Penny will inform you that she administered the Drowsiness Draught. You will look at Merula and decide to try reversing the effects of her spell once again.
Trace the wand movement to cast Reparifarge.
This time, the spell will work, and Merula will turn into an adorable Puffskein.
She will be confused by the effects of your spell. Penny will also find it hard to believe. As for Barnaby, he will definitely like this turn of events.
You will notice that Merula isn’t really too happy being a Puffskein. There are two options to react to this. Neither of these options will have any big impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.
Ismelda will find it odd that Merula turned into a Puffskein instead of a human. You will assume it has something to do with her first Transfiguration.
Penny will suggest asking some of the other Sphinx Club members for help. You’ll decide to seek Ben and see if there’s something he can do to help.
Proceed to the Artefact Room once you’re ready to continue. Ben will find it hilarious to see Merula as a Puffskein.
She won’t be too happy with him laughing at her. You will inform him about what Professor McGonagall said earlier and ask if there’s anything he can do to help.
Needless to say, Ben wouldn’t want to see the Sphinx Club disbanded. Merula will chirp in agreement.
Your Gryffindor friend will ask you to explain exactly what happened. You will start by mentioning Merula’s initial plan to fully Self-Transfigure into a Thunderbird.
You’ll go on and say about your attempt to change her back, which resulted in her becoming a Puffskein.
Ben will find Puffskein Merula remarkably cute. She will chirp happily once she hears his compliments.
You’ll mention that she is a lot more vocal as a Puffskein.
Ben will ask if you would want to be a Puffskein. There are two options to choose from. Other than some minor dialogue changes, this choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick either option.
He’ll ask you about the spells Merula used for her Self-Transfiguration. You will recall your study session in the Library.
You need to earn five stars within an hour to complete this task. Three stars are required to pass.
The only bonus progress action here is linked to your character. Focus on it if you want to save a bit of energy.
Ben will point out that Merula’s first Transfiguration is most likely preventing you from changing her back.
You will nod and say that you also assumed that. You’ll ask if there’s something that can be done to change her back.
Ben will ask if you are sure you want to do that. Merula will give him a questioning look.
You’ll remind him that Professor McGonagall will disband the Sphinx Club if she finds out what happened.
Needless to say, it would be a real shame to see that happen. Ben will admit that he cares more about the Dragon Club.
You will be surprised to learn that he is a member of two clubs. The following lines will differ, depending on the year you’re in.
You will ask if there’s any Dragon Club member who could help you revert Merula back to her original state. Luckily, there might be someone who could help.
You’ll decide to visit the Dragon Club as soon as possible. Head to the Training Grounds when you are ready.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of your classmates and see what they have to say.
You will thank Tonks for meeting you. Merula will happily chirp at your Hufflepuff friend.
Tonks will be surprised to see the Most Powerful Puffskein at Hogwarts. Ben will say that you’re trying to change her back. Tonks will laugh and say that Merula looks much better as a Puffskein.
Unfortunately, having her stay as a Puffskein isn’t an option since that would lead to Professor McGonagall disbanding the Sphinx Club.
Luckily, there might be something Tonks can do to help. However, she’ll ask for a favor in return. You’ll ask her to tell you more.
Listening to Tonks’ plan requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is recommended to avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.
There are bonus progress actions linked to Tonks and Ben. Prioritize those actions if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.
Apparently, Tonks wants you to steal a Fanged Frisbee from the Headmaster’s office. She will admit that she cannot sneak into his office, which is why she’s asking for help.
You will ask the Most Adorable Puffskein at Hogwarts if she is up for the task. She’ll happily chirp in approval.
You’ll tell Tonks you agree to her proposition. Ben will warn you to be extremely careful since you’ll definitely get in trouble if Professor Dumbledore catches you.
Unfortunately, you don’t have much of a choice, so you will have to take that risk. Soon enough, you will get the chance to help Tonks get her Fanged Frisbee back.
