Portrait Panic Part 2
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for Portrait Panic Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, Badeea informed you that Jae is upset about something. The two of you asked him about it and learned that it is his birthday. He told you that he has three birthday rituals he does every year, and one of those involves going to the Three Broomsticks for Butterbeer.
Unfortunately, Madam Rosmerta had to close the inn after an accident involving a wand that backfired. Because of that, Jae was unable to complete one of his birthday rituals. You asked Badeea to create the painting of the Three Broomsticks in order to surprise Jae. Unfortunately, many of the portraits decided to have a party inside the painting, including the Fat Lady. Because of that, Gryffindor students were unable to enter their common room.
To make matters worse, Professor McGonagall found out that you had something to do with the creation of the painting, so she tasked you with returning the portraits back to their paintings. Unfortunately, none of them wanted to leave the party, so Tonks advised you to study them in order to figure out a way to convince them to leave the party. You decided to visit the library and see if there are any books you find on Sir Cadogan.

Walkthrough
[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]
Upon starting this part, you will be met with a waiting period of three hours. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the Library once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say. Penny will happily greet you and say that she managed to find some books on Sir Cadogan.

You will thank her for being so helpful. Badeea will be confident that the books are going to be helpful with the research. Still, Penny will be curious to know why you didn’t simply ask Sir Cadogan about his life. Unfortunately, he is way too occupied with the party, which is why you had to take the alternative approach.

You and Badeea will tell Penny about the recent events.

Penny will assume that the party has something to do with the Gryffindors being unable to access their common room. You will nod and explain why that is the case.

You’ll also tell her that you have until the end of the day to solve the problem. Otherwise, both you and Jae will end up in detention. Shortly after, the three of you will start the research. Researching Sir Cadogan requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

There are bonus actions tied to Penny, Talbott, and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

As it seems, Sir Cadogan had a very eventful past. If you completed Call to Knighthood adventure, you will get an additional line of dialogue.

Badeea will recall the things about the Wyvern of Wye and Sir Cadogan being a Gryffindor.

That will give you an interesting idea; you will suggest luring Sir Cadogan back to his portrait by telling him there’s a dangerous creature there. Penny will point out that you cannot simply deceive the knight, but you could paint a fearsome creature for him to duel.

You’ll ask Badeea if she would be willing to do that. Unfortunately, after what happened earlier, Badeea will be afraid to mess things up. She will suggest that you paint something. If you completed A Hobby A Day side quest, you will remember painting with Liz.

Penny will be confident that you have what it takes to paint a fearsome creature. Badeea will wonder which creature you want to paint. There are three options to choose from. This choice will be referenced later on, but it won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

After choosing a creature to paint, you will decide to ask Liz to help you find a subject to paint from. Proceed to Care of Magical Creatures once you are ready to meet with Liz. You will ask Liz if she managed to find the creature you asked about.

Your previous choice will take effect here.

Liz will admit that she couldn’t find a creature you asked for on such short notice. However, she did find a Fanged Puffskein instead. You will take a look and notice an adorable creature on a nearby barrel.

Liz will wonder what you think of the Fanged Puffskein. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

Still, Liz won’t be sure if Sir Cadogan will find the creature worthy of his time. After all, he did encounter many fearsome creatures during his time as a knight. You will figure out that you could make the Fanged Puffskein look scarier in the painting.

Liz will agree with you and say that you should enhance all of the creature’s frightening features.

Moments later, you will start painting. Painting the Fanged Puffskein requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is recommended not to start this task if you are out of energy.

There are reward actions tied to Liz, nearby rock, and the Fanged Puffskein. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

Once you are done, you will take a look at the painting.

Liz will be happy with the way the painting turned out. If you completed A Hobby A Day side quest, you will get some additional lines of dialogue.

You will be unsure if the Fanged Puffskein painting is scary enough, but Liz will reassure you that it is and suggest that you think of a reason why Sir Cadogan should duel it, making it easier to convince him.

You will like her idea. Liz will decide to hang the Fanged Puffskein portrait next to Sir Cadogan’s portrait while you go to speak with him. Before leaving the place, you will thank Liz for helping you. Head to the Courtyard when you are ready to continue.
Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your friends by tapping on the speech bubbles above them. You will approach the painting and tell Sir Cadogan that you have urgent news for him.

He will be curious to know what happened, and you’ll tell him there is a fearsome creature near his portrait. In response, he will ask you to tell him more about the creature.

You’ll say that the creature is none other than a Fanged Puffskein.

Sadly, Sir Cadogan won’t consider such a creature worthy of his time.

You will quickly decide to convince him otherwise. Convincing Sir Cadogan requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are bonus actions tied to the painting, your character, and Diego. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

In the end, you will make some solid arguments to convince Sir Cadogan that the Fanged Puffskein is a worthy opponent.

He will thank you for informing him about this ferocious creature. He’ll decide to head back to his portrait and defeat the fearsome Fanged Puffskein.

Needless to say, Violet won’t be too happy to see him leave the party so suddenly.

You will advise her to spend some time with the Fat Lady. The Fat Lady will like the idea, but unfortunately, Violet won’t pay any attention to her.

Shortly after, Jae and Penny will approach you. You will tell them that you managed to convince Sir Cadogan to leave the party.

Penny observes Violet’s distress over Sir Cadogan’s departure from the party, and it’s possible that both she and the Fat Lady might also choose to leave the event. Jae will tell you that Professor McGonagall isn’t too happy that you still haven’t managed to return the portraits to their paintings. As it seems, you will need to be quick in order to avoid getting detention.

You reassure Jae not to worry, and then Penny will notice that Violet is engaged in conversation with another portrait. According to Jae, the individual who has captured Violet’s attention is Percival Pratt, a wizard poet.

Upon realizing the potential advantage, you decide to write a poem about home in an attempt to motivate Percival to return to his painting, thereby allowing Violet to spend time with the Fat Lady.

If you’ve completed the Flying Solo adventure, you will recall that Talbott loves poetry, so you will decide to ask him for help. Otherwise, Penny will tell you about it.

Proceed to the Owlery once you are ready. Talbott will ask if there’s anything he can do to help you.

You’ll tell him you want to write a poem about what home means to someone.

The following line will differ, based on whether or not you completed Flying Solo adventure.

Talbott will be curious to know why you are writing a poem for Percival Pratt. You will tell him you are doing it to save Jae’s birthday. You’ll go on and explain everything that happened recently. Talbott will realize why Percy was asking him all day about the quietest places to study.

Apparently, Talbott went to the owlery to get away from Percy.

You will be surprised that your actions to help Jae with his birthday had such a big impact on the whole school. If you complete Torvus and the Troubled Forest adventure, you will get an extra line of dialogue.

You’ll ask Talbott if he would be willing to help you write a poem about home. He will say that he’d like to help you, but he won’t know exactly what would make Percival Pratt homesick. You’ll figure out that you need to write something that reminds you of home.

You will then get to choose what reminds you of home. There are three options to choose from. Your poem will be influenced by this decision, but the outcome of the story will stay the same, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Talbott will give you some writing tips.

You’ll thank him for helping you. If you are friends with Talbott, he’ll be sure to mention it.

Shortly after, you will start writing the poem. Writing your poem requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, you should avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are reward actions tied to your character, nearby owls, and a pile of hay. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will ask Talbott to help you with the last part of your poem. Your previous choice will take effect here.

You will thank Talbott for helping you write the poem. Now that you’re done writing the poem, you’ll decide to head back to the courtyard and recite it to Percival Pratt.
This will conclude Part 2 of the Portrait Panic adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive Gems and 1 Chocolate Frog.
Now you have the poem that should hopefully make Percival Pratt homesick. But will he leave the party? And will the other portraits also go back to their paintings, or will something unexpected happen? Find out in the next part of this adventure.
Thank you for reading.
