Search for the Mirror of Erised Part 3
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for Search for the Mirror of Erised Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you visited the Headmaster and learned why Professor Sprout used the Mirror of Erised. Professor Dumbledore warned you about the dangers of this magical artifact, and he decided to take it back to where it belongs.
Unfortunately, once you returned to the Herbology classroom, you realized that the mirror is no longer there. You searched the place and found Tulip’s toad, Dennis. You immediately figured out she had something to do with the missing mirror, so you went to look for her. After finding her in the Artefact Room, you learned that she gazed into the Mirror of Erised and saw herself working for the Ministry. Needless to say, she wasn’t too happy about the vision. She told you she gave the mirror to Talbott, so the two of you went to meet with him in the Owlery.
As it turned out, Talbott also looked into the mirror and saw the vision in which the Death Eaters never attacked his parents. Shortly after, Merula, Barnaby, and Ismelda showed up and they wanted their chance to look into the mirror, so they took it. Before leaving, Merula told you to meet with her in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom after nightfall. Once you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of four hours. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait, and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Since the adventure is available for students of Year 4 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.)
Before going to the Defence Against the Dark Arts, you’ll have to wait four hours. Proceed there once the waiting time is over.

Merula will admit that she wasn’t sure you’d show up. You’ll say that you didn’t really have much choice.

She’ll chuckle after hearing you say that. She’ll say that she, Barnaby, and Ismelda only want the chance to look into the mirror before it gets returned to Professor Dumbledore.
Penny will wonder why they simply didn’t ask the Headmaster for permission. The choice that you made when you first found the mirror will take effect here.

Merula will comment on how you were so accepting. You’ll simply ask her to hear you out. You will explain that all the people who looked in the mirror had different reactions.
You’ll ask Merula if she wants to listen to their stories before gazing into the mirror. Thankfully, she will agree to hear what you have to say.

Talking to Merula requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy bar is empty.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Merula and Ismelda. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Merula will sum things up once you’re done explaining. She won’t see anything bad in your friend’s experiences. Once again, you’ll try to dissuade her from gazing into the mirror.
Unfortunately, she will be overconfident that she can handle the mirror’s magical powers. Moments later, she, Barnaby, and Ismelda will look into the mirror. Their reactions will differ… to say the least.

Penny and you will quickly approach them and ask if they are all right. Sadly, neither Barnaby nor Ismelda will be willing to talk about what they saw in the mirror. Shortly after, they will leave the classroom.

Unfortunately, Merula also won’t talk about her vision. Both Penny and you will be worried about them.

She’ll suggest checking on your friends before returning the mirror to Professor Dumbledore. She will decide to ask Tulip and Talbott to help her relocate the mirror to somewhere safe. In the meantime, you should go after Barnaby, Ismelda, and Merula. You’ll agree that helping your friends is probably the best course of action. You will decide to start with Barnaby.
Proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready to continue. You’ll find your friend sitting on a nearby rock. You will notice that he isn’t as cheerful as usual.

He’ll tell you he realized something after seeing his heart’s desire in the Mirror of Erised. You will ask him to tell you what he saw in the mirror. He’ll be unsure whether or not he should open up to you. Perhaps some Nifflers could help you convince him…

You’ll suggest playing with the Nifflers while Barnaby tells you about his vision. After considering it for a moment, your friend will agree to open up. Playing with Nifflers requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Sadly, there aren’t any bonus progress actions available for this task, so you won’t be able to save much energy.

You’ll learn that in his vision, Barnaby was teaching the Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts. You won’t find anything bad about that. He’ll admit he was happy and excited when he looked in the mirror.

You will be curious to know why he is upset. He’ll tell you he doubts he will ever be smart enough to become a real professor. He will wonder if he should simply give up on school altogether.
He’ll ask you to give him a good reason why he shouldn’t quit Hogwarts. There are three options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Despite your efforts to convince him, Barnaby won’t be sure what to do. You will say a few words to lift your friend’s spirits and promise that you’ll help him sort it all out.

Barnaby will thank you for your support. He’ll ask you how Merula and Ismelda are doing. As it seems, he hasn’t seen them ever since they left the classroom. You will say that you are worried about them, too. Before leaving, you will promise to find a way to help him.
Proceed to the Three Broomsticks when you are ready to meet Merula and Ismelda. Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.
As soon as she sees you, Ismelda will ask you to join her and Merula at their table and have some Butterbeer with them. Needless to say, you’ll be surprised to hear that.

She will smile and say she is celebrating her vision in the Mirror of Erised. Merula, on the other hand, won’t be so friendly.

You’ll say that you were worried about them, so you wanted to see if they are okay. Ismelda will say that she simply needed a moment alone to revel in what she saw. You’ll ask her to tell you about it.
As it seems, she saw herself telling everyone in her life exactly how she felt. You’ll wonder how that is different from what she usually does. She’ll quickly explain it to you.

You will then ask Merula about her vision. Sadly, she won’t be willing to share it with you. You’ll kindly try to convince her you are only trying to help.
Luckily, she will agree to tell you what she saw. Apparently, she saw herself with someone she thought she’ll never see again.
Sadly, that’s all she’ll be willing to share. You’ll then tell them that the Headmaster wants to have the Mirror of Erised back. Unfortunately, Ismelda won’t be willing to let go of the mirror yet.

Merula, on the other hand, won’t have any objections. She’ll tell Ismelda that Professor Dumbledore isn’t simply going to let her keep the mirror.
She will even agree it is time to return the artifact to where it belongs. Ismelda, however, won’t be happy to hear that.

You will suggest talking about it. Talking to Ismelda and Merula requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

There are actions with bonus progress linked to Merula and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

When you are done, you will sum up everyone’s feelings about the mirror. Tulip and Merula are for returning the mirror to the Headmaster, Barnaby might need to look in it again to be encouraged and Ismelda and Talbott wish to keep it.
Ismelda will admit that she wants to look into the mirror for the rest of time. Merula will tell her not to be greedy. Ismelda will say a few words to defend herself.

You’ll find it odd to see two of them arguing. Merula will realize that Professor Dumbledore was right all along.
She will assume you are surprised to hear that from her. There are two options to reply with. If you like Merula, it is recommended to pick the second option.

You’ll say that Penny wants to help everyone sort out their feelings before returning the mirror.
According to Merula, you will need someone with big opinions to help you figure out what to do. You’ll tell her that you want to ask Hagrid for advice on how to help your friends.

Proceed to Hagrid’s garden when you are ready to continue. Hagrid will happily greet you and say that Penny told him about your latest adventure. He’ll be glad that you’ve managed to find the missing artifact. Penny and you will quickly recap the latest events.

You’ll say that you want to do everything in your power to help your friends. Unfortunately, you’ve been having some difficulties with that because your friends are confused about what to do with the mirror. You’ll ask Hagrid to help you figure out what to do next. Thankfully, he’ll be more than happy to help.

To make a plan with Hagrid, you will need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are bonus progress actions tied to Hagrid and Fang. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

After discussing things for a while, Hagrid will advise you to seek an expert. He’ll say that he knows only one person who can help you with the problem.

You will quickly realize he is talking about the Headmaster. Hagrid will point out that now that you have the mirror, it would be wrong not to inform Dumbledore. Penny will agree with Hagrid and say that you should definitely have a word with the Headmaster.

You’ll admit you are afraid that the Headmaster might get angry after hearing about what happened. Hagrid will advise you to be direct and give Professor Dumbledore all of the facts. Penny will also give you a word of advice.

You’ll then get to choose how to approach Dumbledore when you tell him you have the mirror. There are two options to choose from.
If you want to follow Hagrid’s advice, it is recommended to pick the first option. If you want to go with Penny’s advice, you should pick the second one. Ultimately, this choice won’t affect the story too much, so feel free to go with the option you prefer.

Not long after that, you will leave Hagrid’s garden.
This will conclude Part 3 of Search for the Mirror of Erised adventure. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 3 Gems.
How will Professor Dumbledore react once you tell him you found the mirror? Will he be able to help you figure out what to do? Find out in the final part of this adventure!
