The Quibbler: Fight For the Front Page Part 2

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 2 of our Walkthrough for The Quibbler: Fight for the Front Page Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous part, you learned that the publisher of The Quibbler, Xenophilius Lovegood is offering a hefty reward for the first person who can bring him a photograph of the Crumple-Horned Snorkack.

Chiara, Barnaby, and you decided to try to find this elusive magical creature and earn the reward. Unfortunately, this proved to be incredibly difficult, so you asked Mr. Lovegood if he would buy a photo of some other rare magical creature, such as the Moon Frog. Thankfully, he agreed to your proposition, as long as no one else brings him a photo of a rarer magical creature.

Other than that, Ismelda made it pretty clear that she’s interested in claiming the reward, so you will have to compete with her for the prize. Luckily, Barnaby was able to see a Moon Frog recently, so now it’s up to the two of you to try to retrace his steps and find this magical creature.

Walkthrough

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 5 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

Proceed to the forest when you are ready to meet with Barnaby. You will ask Barnaby if he first saw the Moon Frog in the forest.

He’ll nod and say that’s where he remembers first seeing it. You’ll inquire whether he recalls the path he took from the forest to Hagrid’s garden. He’ll think for a moment, but he won’t be able to recall it.

He’ll apologize for disappointing you. You will reassure him that the Moon Frog can still be found. Even so, he’ll be wondering if you’ll be able to defeat Ismelda. There are two ways to respond. This option will have a minor impact on the dialogue later on, but it will have no significant impact on the story, so choose whatever option you prefer.

You will then get to help Barnaby retrace his footsteps. This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if your energy is low.

There are bonus actions linked to your character and a set of tracks. Focus on those if you are looking to save some energy.

Thankfully, Barnaby will be able to remember some important details.

He’ll claim he chased the Moon Frog all over Hogwarts until he ended up in Hagrid’s garden. Fortunately, he might be able to locate it. However, he’ll want to be certain, so he’ll ask you to let him find out if he’s correct.

You’ll decide to check in with Chiara in the meantime and see if she had any luck finding the Crumple-Horned Snorkack. Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready to meet with Chiara. You’ll ask her if she had any luck with her search.

Sadly, she wasn’t able to find the Crumple-Horned Snorkack. You’ll smile at her and tell her not to worry.

She will thank you for your kindness and admit that she doesn’t need the money for school supplies. The following dialogue will differ, based on whether or not you know Chiara’s secret. If you don’t, she will tell you she’s a werewolf and explain how she became one.

Because of her condition, she needs to take Wolfsbane Potion before every full moon in order not to lose control. If you already know her secret, you will remember her mentioning that Professor Dumbledore acquired those potions for her.

Unfortunately, the ingredients for Wolfsbane Potion are very hard to come by, and Chiara will be afraid that she’ll lose control when she transforms. You will tell her you’ll do everything in your power to prevent that from happening. Still, Chiara will dread the thought of losing control and hurting someone.

Once again, you will reassure her that you’ll win the prize. Sadly, Chiara will find it hard to believe that winning the reward is possible. You’ll decide to talk to her about it and help her calm down. Reassuring Chiara requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are reward actions linked to your character and the fountain. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

After talking to her for a while, Chiara will finally smile and thank you for lifting her spirit. However, she will say she is concerned that Ismelda is also planning to claim the reward. Your previous choice will take effect here.

Chiara will say there’s a chance Ismelda already found a Crumple-Horned Snorkack. If that’s the case, your plan to win the prize money with a photo of a Moon Frog will no longer be viable. You will suggest talking to Ismelda and asking her if she is willing to work together and split the reward.

Chiara will be surprised to hear that. She will ask if you really think Ismelda would be willing to agree to share the prize money. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Regardless of your choice, you will decide to talk to Ismelda and see if she’ll agree to your proposition. Proceed to the Great Hall when you are ready to meet with her.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say. Not long after you arrive, Chiara will spot Ismelda sitting at the table with two other students.

You will be hoping that she’ll agree to work together and split the prize money. Chiara will also hope that will be the case.

Moments later, you will join Ismelda at the table and ask if she’ll be willing to have a word with you. She will rudely say that you already started talking before she had the chance to say anything. One of the students sitting next to her will be amused by her words. You’ll remember her saying she is onto something big, and you’ll offer to help her find it.

You will see a pleased smile on Ismelda’s face as she comments on your idea of finding the moon frog. She will also say that there is no reason for her to accept your help. You quickly decide to try to convince her to change her mind.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There are bonus actions linked to your character, Ismelda, and a student sitting next to her. Prioritize those actions if you want to save as much energy as possible.

Ismelda will admit that you are making some valid points. Unfortunately, she won’t be interested in searching for a Crumple-Horned Snorkack. This will definitely surprise you.

Ismelda will continue by claiming that the magical being she is searching for is real. Sadly, she won’t be open to sharing more information with you and will be sure to pocket the reward money. Three of them will soon leave the Great Hall. Chiara will enquire as to your chances of winning the cash prize.

You will think for a moment and come up with an interesting idea.

Chiara will consider it for a while and say that she cannot possibly ask you to do something like that. You’ll tell her you really don’t mind. She will wonder why you’re so motivated to win the prize money. There are two options to reply with. If you like Chiara, it is highly recommended to pick the first option.

Chiara will be interested in the magical being Ismelda is searching for. You’ll choose to follow her in order to learn more. When you are prepared, head over to Hagrid’s Garden. When you arrive, you’ll make the decision to search for a hiding spot before Ismelda and her friends show up. Just in time, you’ll hide behind one of the pumpkins.

One of Ismelda’s friends will ask her about the creature she’s after. She will tell them that she’s after a werewolf. On top of that, she is planning to capture it. Her other friend will point out that going after a werewolf is complete madness.

Ismelda will calmly say that she wants to capture a werewolf before it transforms. That will allow her to safely take as many photos as she wants. Also, she will say that she wants to expose the Headmaster for harboring a werewolf at Hogwarts.

Her friend will ask if she knows who the werewolf is. Ismelda will admit that she isn’t one hundred percent sure, but she did see a student near the Forbidden Forest the same night she saw a werewolf. And the student she saw was none other than Chiara Lobosca. You will be shocked to hear that.

Suddenly, Ismelda will notice Chiara approaching. As it seems, she was planning to wait for her to arrive all along. She’ll instruct her friends to hide and cast the Body-Bind curse on her signal.

Moments later, all of them will hide behind a giant pumpkin and wait for the opportunity to ambush Chiara.

You’ll realize you have to find a way to stop them before it’s too late. Foiling Ismelda’s plans requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are reward actions linked to your character and a nearby pumpkin. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will decide to use the Knockback Jinx on Chiara to knock her down just before the Body-Bind curse hits her.

You will notice that Ismelda and her friends are getting ready to attack Chiara, so you’ll quickly cast the Knockback Jinx.

Your spell will manage to hit Chiara a fraction of a second before the Body-Bind curse gets to her.

Thankfully, your plan will work, and Chiara will notice Ismelda and her friends standing nearby.

She will quickly get up and leave the garden before they get another chance to attack her. Ismelda’s friend will be confused by what happened. As for Ismelda, she will be determined to try again soon.

You will decide to find Chiara and make sure she’s all right. With that, Part 2 of The Quibbler: Fight for the Front Page adventure will conclude. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 3 gems.
