The Tournament of Clubs Part 3

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for The Tournament of Clubs Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you decided to visit all three clubs before choosing the one to represent in the tournament. You started with the Hippogriff Club. While you were there, Barnaby told you about the section of Olin Oakwood’s journal he stumbled upon while reading it. In that section, Olin described Margaretta Ironbark and Skylar Flame as jealous bullies.

Later on, while exploring the Sphinx Club, you found a manuscript written by Skylar Flame, in which she accused Olin of being a liar and a cheat. To make matters even more confusing, while you were in the Dragon Club, you found a photo of Olin and Margaretta, where they appear to be best friends. Needless to say, there’s more to this mystery than meets the eye.

In the end, you chose the club you want to represent during the tournament, and soon enough, the contest will begin. When you start this part, you will be met with a waiting period of five hours. Since you will most likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait, and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

[Disclaimer: This walkthrough will feature the gameplay from the perspective of a Year 7 student. Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

Proceed to the courtyard once the waiting time is over. Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your classmates by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

Barnaby will welcome everyone to the Tournament of Clubs. He’ll say that he is going to be a host and a referee for the competition.

Everyone will cheer loudly.

You will add that the contest was originally held by the founders of three clubs. Barnaby will say that the competition consists of four rounds. Each of those is worth one point. He’ll struggle for a moment to calculate the maximum number of points a team can earn.

You will quickly help him with that.

In the end, whichever club ends up with the most points will win the tournament. You will ask him about the first round.

Barnaby will say that the first round will be honoring Skylar Flame and the Sphinx Club with a friendly game of Gobstones.

He will then announce the matchups. Liz will compete against Jae, Merula will compete against Charlie, and you will be going against Ismelda. The clubs they will be competing for will differ, based on the club you chose to represent.

Ismelda will say a few words before your game of Gobstones starts. Her line will differ, based on the club you chose to represent.

Playing Gobstones requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions tied to Ismelda, Barnaby, and your character. Focus on those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

In the end, Ismelda will win the game of Gobstones.

Her team will be the one to win the first round of the tournament.

Ismelda will ask if you are going to congratulate her. There are two options to reply with. This choice will have effects on some of the dialogue later on. If you like Ismelda, it is recommended to go with the first option and congratulate her.

However, you will point out that the tournament has only just begun, so there is still plenty of time to change things.

Barnaby will say that the next trial involves dueling. He will ask everyone to head to the training grounds for the next round of the tournament.

Proceed to the training grounds when you are ready to continue. Barnaby will happily welcome everyone to round two of the Tournament of Clubs.

He will say a few words about the previous round. His lines will differ, based on the club you chose to represent.

You’ll admit that playing against Ismelda was not an easy task. If you’ve accused Ismelda of cheating, you’ll get an extra line of dialogue here.

Barnaby will then say that a second round honors Margaretta Ironbank and her Dragon Club with a dueling challenge.

During the second round, Chiara will be dueling Liz, Jae will go against Talbott, and you will end up dueling Tonks. The clubs they will be competing for will differ, based on the club you chose to represent.

Shortly after, the second round of the Tournament of Clubs will begin. Dueling Tonks requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if your energy bar is empty.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are bonus progress actions linked to Talbott and Tonks. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Eventually, you will get an opening to cast Expelliarmus on your opponent. Trace the wand movement on the screen to cast the Disarming Charm.

The spell will knock the wand out of Tonk’s hand, and you’ll end up winning the duel.

Barnaby will congratulate you and say that your team won the second round.

You’ll ask her to explain the meaning of her words. She’ll comment on how you and Barnaby were the ones organizing the whole contest. If you’ve accused Ismelda of cheating earlier, she’ll also mention that.

In the end, Tonks will apologize for accusing both of you. She’ll admit that she felt a bit sore about losing. Barnaby won’t hold it against her.

Once everyone has gathered at the Care of Magical Creatures classroom, you will ask Barnaby to tell you about the next round of the tournament.

Apparently, the third round of the contest will involve catching Fire Crabs.

You will recall that Fire Crabs can be quite dangerous and Barnaby will agree with you on that.

Barnaby will start announcing the teams. Andre and Tonks will be competing together. The second team will consist of Ismelda and Talbott, and you will be teaming up with Penny.

Penny will advise you to be careful when approaching those magical creatures and to heed Barnaby’s advice. You’ll agree with her. Moments later, the third round of the Tournament of Clubs will begin.

Catching Fire Crabs requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is not recommended to start this task with an empty energy bar.

You’ll ask if any of the teams managed to catch three Fire Crabs. He’ll say that Penny and you caught two of those creatures.

However, he decided to end the round early, because he was informed that someone’s been breaking the rules. You’ll be surprised to hear that. Apparently, Ismelda saw Penny helping another team.

You’ll ask Penny if she was really doing that. She will say that she noticed a Fire Crab slipping away right through Tonk’s hands, and she was worried it might wander off.

She’ll ask if you can forgive her for helping another team. There are two options to reply with. If you like Penny, it is highly recommended to pick the first option and forgive her.

In the end, Barnaby will disqualify the entire round, and no points will be awarded. The score will still be tied between your and Ismelda’s team. In other words, the final round will determine the winner of the tournament.

Barnaby will ask everyone to head over to the training grounds, so proceed there when you are ready to continue. Once you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of your classmates and see what they have to say.

Barnaby will welcome everyone to the final round of the Tournament of Clubs. He will go on and say that the score is tied between your and Ismelda’s team. Ismelda won’t be too happy with the outcome of the previous round.

Ismelda will make it clear that she is willing to do whatever it takes to win the contest.

Moments later, everyone will get on their brooms, and the final round of the Tournament of Clubs will begin.

In the end, only Ismelda, Jae, and you will still be on your brooms. Ismelda will take out her wand and cast the Knockback Jinx at Jae. Her line will differ, based on the club she is representing.

Suddenly, Ismelda will realize what she did.

Moments later, Professor McGonagall will arrive, and she will demand to know what happened.

Ismelda will say that she didn’t mean to hurt Jae. You’ll ask Professor McGonagall to give you a chance to explain everything. However, your explanation will have to wait since helping Jae is more important.

Shortly after, Part 3 of the Tournament of Clubs adventure will conclude. Hit the Collect button to claim your reward. You will receive 3 Gems.
