The Valentine’s Day Masquerade Part 3

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to Part 3 of our Walkthrough for The Valentine’s Day Masquerade Adventure of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, Jae helped you prepare food for the ball. You then planned to see Penny about the music and helped her pick up the suitable last song of the evening.

After that, you went to the Great Hall to see how the decorations are coming together. When you got there, you were surprised to find only Badeea there. She told you that Merula and Barnaby started arguing and left the place to duel. You went after them to the training grounds and somehow managed to convince them to stop dueling.

After that, you went to see Andre and learned that he doesn’t really want to be the committee leader. You offered to find a replacement for him so he can focus on making the outfits for the ball. The person you had in mind was Tonks, so go to the Clocktower Courtyard to meet with her.

Since the adventure is available for students of Year 5 and above, the star and attribute requirements for certain tasks might be different for you, depending on your current progress of the main story.]

Tonks will be happy to hear you out. You’ll start explaining to her what happened so far.

To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to pass.

Bonus progress action is tied to Tonks. Prioritize her actions to save some energy.

Tonks will be surprised at how many things have happened, but luckily, she’ll be willing to help. The next line of dialogue will differ, depending on whether or not you asked a date to dance.

Tonks will tell you that she definitely doesn’t wish to be a committee leader, even more so now when she learned about the problems Andre had. You will be anxious that you need to take the role but Tonks will point out that you’ve already done so much.

Additionally, she will mention one more reason to not worry about other problems, and this line of dialogue will also depend on whether or not you asked someone to a dance.

She’ll suggest that Chiara handles the last bit of dance planning. Tonks will explain that after Chiara helped Penny, she became very excited about the masquerade and she is a calm, reasonable, and honest person.

It is a win-win situation. She’ll get the opportunity to be a committee leader while you can ask your date, or focus on your date, depending on whether you’ve asked your date for a dance or not. The following lines may differ, depending on whom you choose to dance with.

If you haven’t asked your date for a dance yet, and you’ve planned to ask Chiara, Tonks will mention that now will be a good opportunity to ask her. When you are ready, go to the Library to meet with Chiara.

Once you arrive, you’ll notice speech bubbles above the students. Tap the bubbles if you are curious about what they have to say. Don’t forget to slide the screen to the right to see all the available interactions.

You’ll greet Chiara and tell her straight away that she can help you around the masquerade ball planning committee. She will become worried if something bad happened with the ball.

The following choice won’t make any significant impact on the story, so you can pick either option. Still, there’s no need for Chiara to worry because you solved most of the problems earlier, so it is recommended to pick the first option.

You will explain that Andre is going to step down and you’ll propose that she should be the new committee leader. She will doubt if she has all the qualities to be a leader.

You’ll decide to convince her why both you and Tonks are sure that she is the right person for the job. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to complete the task. It is recommended to start this task with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to Madam Pince and your character. Prioritize those actions to save some energy. Don’t forget to slide the screen left and right to see all available actions.

You’ll manage to give Chiara confidence. And now that she’ll take on the rest of the tasks as a committee leader, you can finally focus on your date.

If you told Tonks that you wish to ask Chiara for the dance, you will do so now. If you already date Chiara, this dialogue will differ slightly. If you don’t date her or you didn’t invite her to the dance, you’ll get different lines of dialogue.

You’ll decide to go to Herbology Classroom to prepare a bouquet for your date. This line will differ, depending on whether or not you asked Chiara to go with you to the ball.

When you are ready, go to the Herbology Classroom. Once you arrive you’ll be surprised that Talbot is there all alone. He’ll explain that he wishes to spend some time with his thoughts, but the owls in the Owlery were very noisy. The Herbology Classroom was the first quiet spot that came to his mind.

You will update Talbott on what happened previously, and you’ll mention that you finally have time to pick flowers for your masquerade date. Unfortunately, Talbott will tell you that Barnaby took all the flowers.

Your Ravenclaw friend will mention that Professor Sprout left some seeds in the Herbology Classroom. You can use the Herbivicus Charm to grow them into flowers. The following line will differ depending on if you already know this charm or not.

To grow flowers with Talbott, you need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are required to complete this task (all five stars for Year 6 Chapter 24+).

An action with bonus progress is tied to Talbott, so prioritize this action to save a bit of energy.

Soon after, you’ll be ready to cast the Herbivicus Charm.

Talbott will comment that Dandelions you grew are very romantic flowers and he’ll hope that you are going to give them to someone special.

If you told Tonks that you wish to ask Talbott for the dance, you will do so now. If you didn’t invite him to the dance, you’ll get different lines of dialogue and you’ll ask him if you’ll see him at the ball.

The following line will differ, depending on if you chose savoury or sweet pasties with Jae earlier.

He’ll further explain that he is planning to appear because of the free food. The mask will help him to get a bit more comfortable.

You’ll decide to check the decorations’ progress in the Great Hall. Meanwhile, you can drop the flowers at your date’s dormitory. The following line will differ depending on whom you choose to dance with. If you choose Talbott, you would already give him the flowers.

When you are ready, go to the Main Hall to check on the decorations. Once you arrive, you will be negatively surprised to see that the Great Hall is not decorated at all. You mentioned that you were busy with the bouquet but you could have helped her if she asked. One line of dialogue will differ depending on if you’ll dance with Merula or not.

Merula will be angry because she’ll suspect that you wish to accuse her. It isn’t her fault, and If you like Merula go with the first option.

Merula will explain that she and Barnaby finished with the decorations, and shortly after, they went to finish their duel in a friendly way, just to see who would win. When they returned to the Great Hall, all the decorations were gone.

You’ll start searching for clues with Merula to figure out who took the decorations. To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Make sure to start this task with a full energy bar.

Bonus progress actions are tied to your character, left brazier, and Peeves’s self-portrait. Prioritize those actions to save some progress.

You’ll find out that the culprit is none other than Peeves. He left his self-portrait to taunt you. If this wasn’t your first time seeing this portrait, you will get a different dialogue line here.

If you told Tonks that you wish to ask Merula for the dance, you will do so now. If you already date Merula, this dialogue will differ slightly. If you don’t date her or you didn’t invite her to the dance, you’ll get different lines of dialogue.

You will decide to go find Peeves with Merula and return the decorations.
